Spoiler

The first about 10 chapters feels scripted. Like in the first few days since coming back, the main character meets three seemingly important people than can see through his secrets and acted in such a way that made them pay attention to him. And there are pov changes already! There are also so many small pockets of information that doesn't feel like they matter, that probably won't get mentioned in the story again. It feels like the same kind of novel that has a reluctant MC that won't show his power for no reason, and reveals his power at the most inconvenient yet necessary times, letting him be revealed to many characters but never changes his attitude.

[collapse]

Of course, these are only my impressions from the earliest parts of the story, it may get better in later parts. But this story just did not hook me. I think I get it now, this book doesn't really give me any reason to care. For the action? Op MC will solve everything. For the characters? Nobody sticks out as particularly enjoyable or relatable. World-building? Standard Earth turned to fantasy world with dungeons, monsters, and guilds. Because this novel doesn't give me a big reason to care, the flaws are magnified, and the positives are looked over. If someone finds a reason, they would like this novel as it isn't particularly bad, but I cannot. <<less
