The novel has an amazing start. The MC uses his knowledge and whits to get stronger and overcome past problems. He solves trials thru the minor hints given by the trial administrators. It was very entertaining because the goals and challenges were clear and I could follow along with his plans and thoughts. But then everything suddenly changes. He meets a near god and he becomes super strong in a single step. Then, everything I liked about the story is soon replaced by fights, getting stronger from fights, and repeat.... more>> There’s no more hints. The goals aren’t clear and I’m not following along with his plans but just watching random fights. <<less

Loses scope and pacing

Lots of good things, lots of bad things. I like the duel dungeon/tower setup that allows for both exploration and challenge. But the dungeons arent used very well. Combat and powers are decent if rarely exciting. No romance is good but characters are quickly outpaced by MC.

Overall high quality but a big of a slog as the pacing loosening. Will likely finish the novel eventually.

Decent modern dungeon story. MC is the usual OP, traveled back in time type. Gotta save the world.

The Pros:

MC is a decent person, helps people while still looking out for himself.

... more>> The tower levels and dungeons have some variety in tasks.

There are some cliches, but also some surprises

The Cons:

His relationship with his "mother" is a bit pointless. One of the things that is different about this MC's time travel is that when he went back in time he woke up in the body of a different person than before. However, the only difference this makes to the story is that he has a different mother. That's it. His old mother still exists in this world, but doesn't have a son. It's like the original him never existed.

This is s*upid. The only change this adds to the story is that his old mother was mean (always pushed him to be perfect, was never satisfied with his performance) while his new mother is nice (always proud of him and supportive). Nevermind that he has taken over the body of her son and she barely notices the difference. What is the point of this? To occasionally have flashbacks about his mean mother? It also make the support he gives his new mother kind of meaningless, because he's not her actual son so he is mostly doing it out of obligation and doesn't seem to have any real feelings for her.

He should have just gone back in time as himself, and only had one mother. If it was the mean mother, it would be interesting to see what trouble she might cause, and to see the MC stand up to her. If it was the nice mother, then he could have real feelings for her and work to give her the things he couldn't in the previous timeline.

Honestly, this is only a small aspect of the story, but it annoyed me so I wanted to rant about it. It doesn't really affect the story that much and is pretty easy to ignore.

Otherwise the only real flaw is that some parts are a little boring so I skim them. But overall it's a decent read. <<less

It's OK but I don't really think it's best novel of it's type. It suffers from two big problems in my opinion:

Firstly it has the issue that the MC ends up overpowered and everyone else becomes irrelevant. In addition MC has no close relationships with anyone from Earth so his motivations are a bit odd since it's protecting a planet. He has "sworn brothers" but relationship feels a bit like a player-NPC relationship.

Secondly author is really bad for pulling Deus Ex Machina's that seem to be very unrealistic and contrived.... more>> For example MC is
Spoiler

the reincarnation of the finest warriors and mages throughout all of history and inaddition isn't just the reincarnation of one god but two gods along with all their memories and skills. In addition that's only 1/6th of a hax ability that randomly solves problems his other plot armour can't handle.

[collapse]
That also means there's a lack of suspense as you know MC is going to get a random powerup to defeat his opponent <<less

Pretty decent novel, you get exactly what you would expect when reading a typical dungeon/tower korean novel.

One of my Main issues with this novel was that MC gets way to strong for earths Power level and everything Happening there becomes basically irrelevant but things keep Happening on earth to remind us where MC is from.

The MCs behavior also isnt that realistic a lot of the time. He Wakes up in a different body and somehow forms a deep relationship with that persons mother out of nowhere. His goals are also... more>> very vague aside from avioiding the future he knows about and his skills basically do whatever they have to.

At least there is no Forced Romance and the relationship between the brothers is fun to read. <<less

I finished reading the main story, and I've got to say, that it was pretty good. There were times where the MC had no tension and the story got a little repetitive, like continuously saying that each boss monster was gigantic and huge. We get it. They're big.

The MC's growth during the story was very satisfying though. He gets over his trauma, and becomes less hero like as he learnes that he should do what he wants instead of what others thinks he should do.

Spoiler

Wish more people on earth could've helped in the story though, because the characters just have no clear reason to be there after MC gains allies from other worlds who're too OP for the other S-classes. Also, Luslec just disappears near the end, and I don't know what happened to him. It ends without answering that question, or Brahma which sucks since I want to know more, so yeah.

[collapse]

But I really like the story overall, the fights and world were easy to imagine, and it was a nice read in the end. <<less

This looked good, and I really wanted it to be.... but it wasn't.

The main problem for me is that the story seems to combine two aspects, and doesn't do well in handling it. The aspects are: tower climbing, and portal dungeons. Think 'solo leveling' for the latter, and 'second life ranker' for the former. It seems interesting, and it's not something I've seen being combined before, and after reading a bit of this I can see why.

It's like splitting your attention between two major things, but not really answering anything... more>> important.

The tower has who knows how many floors. Furthest is 550 on easy and the MC is less than 40 on hell mode currently. I would have liked to see a clear number, as without it, the structure loses structure. The portal dungeons are also annoying. More are appearing, and harder ones faster than the MC had the first run through, so the timing makes no sense, as apart from the MC, something seems to be changing the timeline. Reminds me of another series I dropped sadly (Worlds Apocalypse Online).

So the MC can only do one of these in reasonable time... and the author keeps juggling things between them.

I guess this is just okay, but I want something to grip me and make me want to know what happens next. With this I just kept feeling bored. Wish the author had chosen only one plot aspect and run with it. <<less
