Well MC is a kind person. In his past life he was fed up with such life. As everyone think he will save them while he don't get anything in return instead he have to carry those responsibilities for them and everyone expectations.

MC died in that life.

After rebirth in past. He thinks that he will not live like that. But again he started doing same thing and every time he say that this is his choice. He wish to be hero otherwise this world will be destroyed by monsters.

Now some... more>> spoiler from novel [ which I didn't like ] : He help someone who he didn't meet much and don't care for that person until now and even in past life there was hardly any meeting with that person. So that person is like a stranger or just a person who he says [ hello ] that's it. But suddenly he started caring about him.

Well it didn't matter. But I didn't like his reason though : [[ below ]]*

One was indeed genuine goodwill. He was impressed by Hak-joon's humanity, and also, something like sympathy to his plight had kicked in, too.
---
"Do I really need something like a reason? He's my younger friend, isn't he?"
Well he has just met him 3 times with no interest whatsoever. and even in past he and this person only have 1 encounter which was not pleasant. so MC just can't see someone suffering. MC is a kind person.

One more exp. in chp 71 MC get a high level ether stone. Previously he said that in future only 4 such stone would appear in world. They are rarest and most valuable [ or more like invaluable ] items. In dungeon he meet a girl [ a plot character, NPC in dungeon, as dungeon is like a game, it will reset every time.... well even if don't. She was still a stranger who he just meet. And yes after this no mention in whole novel of this girl as MC climb the tower and move up from that level. So he never meet. ] But still he give up that high stone [ Rarest of all ] so that she can solve his debt problem. Well 1 st thing she is a dungeon character who was part of his mission, 2nd thing she was a stranger and MC don't love her or he is not even her friend. She was weak so she didn't help even during the mission. And above all she is not a player but instead a NPC... fkin NPC. But MC just give up that item and in end he just scratches his head thinking why did he do that.... well here is the line from novl [[ spoiler ]]

--------

<<Sure, it's a bit of a waste to leave a high-grade stone like that behind, but... >>

However, he didn't really need one, and Aile's situation also weighed on his mind, too.

<<Can't be helped, I guess.>>

Su-hyeun roughly scratched his head.

His thoughts were complicated, but he never regretted his actions after making up his mind. Not only was he not the type to be hung up over money

--------

But author fked up here, as that stone is best and can be used on weapons to make kind of God weapons, the strongest weapon ever made on earth in his past life was made of this stone. But he instead of giving it to his friend or his mother as a protection pendant or anything.. He just left it there. This stone just by its mere presence can make humans live longer like around 200 yrs or more.

But he give up and compared it with money... and the person he give it to is really a stranger with hardly any encounter even in that mission she was just a soy sauce[ a useless person ]. Just she cried a little and talk about her family condition. And her *ta da * our MC just give up everything. So he didn't learn anything from his past life. His mind is just........... man someone call big bro Fang Yuan, I believe he will teach him what's called reverend insanity........ lol.

-----
he never learn from his past. anything.
----

But still this story isn't too bad. [[ People who love evil and cold and cruel MC. pls. don't read it. ANd player who need MC to be not a fkin. hypocrite... again don't read it. And people who can handle few problems then just read it. It is similar to Solo levelling and King of battlefield and similar other novels.... but yes worst than them in some cases.... ]]

In Novelupdate........ chp aren't updated. It already have more than 100 chp translated. <<less

This has been given a lot more slack on NU than it deserves, essentially this novel is solo levelling (the novel not the manhua) but actually good, the fights are very descriptive, more so than many other novels. The MC seems somewhat robotic at the beginning but by continuing to read you see that he is quite human. His only overwhelming cheat would be in his setting of coming back to life, but other than that his power is accumulated without cheats like a system no one else has and... more>> it would be somewhat plausible for someone to kind of replicate his strength if they followed the impossibly hard route he decided to go. Many people on this site seem to have problems with characters with a hero archetype, but I think here it’s done well since he as a person genuinely wants the benefit of others and has put in the effort to achieve power so that he can help others. It’s a good read and it gets better later on (floor 60 was such a blast) and I recommend it. <<less

if this is one of your first Korean monsterpocolypse novels you'll probably like it, if it's your 10th, it might be a bit familiar, if its your 20th, its a way to kill time but only if your running out of other reading material.

this was decent for it's genre (around a 3.5 mostly) and I thought after 200 chapters it was safe, but then we hit chapter 228 and ... more>>
Spoiler

FFS! Can't we get a single Korean rebirth/survival novel where the MC doesn't somehow end up as a f*cking necromancer?! This is the gazillionth Korean monsterpocolypse novel I've read and ALL the MCs become necromancer/king of the dead/lord of shadows/corpse fondler extraordinaire.

I'm so burnt out on this class/job/ whatever.

[collapse]

it's a 4 at it's best moments and a 3 at the worst. I'm going to stop at 300 for now and come back later, once I'm not so irritated with/burnt out on this ridiculously overused class. <<less

The Hero Returns, a typical Korean dungeon novel with a reincarnated hero and a world-ending threat.

Let me preface this review by saying that I went into this novel looking for some filler waiting on other books to update and came out days later surprised and hooked! The first several dozen chapters of this novel don't do it justice. I don't know if it's the translator's fault or the author just finding the groove but the quality of the story rapidly enhances from around 100 - 150 onward.

The Story:

The typical prologue... more>> of a Hero meeting his end at the hands of a monster on a ruined Earth he couldn't fathom the power of. He then goes back in the past 20 years to find himself in a new family. Nothing really new here.

He moves on the start climbing the Tower, the system put in place to train awakeners. Using his polished combat abilities from his previous life he blows through the first 20 levels and single-mindedly pushed to increase his strength.

Overall the first vol. (First 100 chapters) is fairly barebones, nothing really interesting or novel really occurs. In fact, at this point in the novel, the MC and side characters are fairly bland and the only goal in sight is to beat the final boss. This gets flipped pretty quick moving into the next volume. I won't go into detail because I absolutely think it's worth reading.

Pros:

  • Great MC
  • Solid character development
  • Good story and world-building
  • Power systems are simple and fun
Cons

  • The beginning of the book is a real slog, either because of the tl or rusty writer.
  • No Romance if you were expecting one (at least not as of 396)
  • Fight scenes can really drag sometimes.
  • The pacing is a little squiffy.
In Conclusion:

This book was a surprisingly good read for such a basic ass title. I mean it's been in my library for months because it was something I was going to use for filler. I honestly think this novel deserves way more attention. In fact, I'm writing this review because I see tons of people overlook it because reviews from the first 50 chapters make it out as something to be avoided. I'm not excusing the poor writing or translation (like the infamous lich/riches that everyone mentions in poor reviews) but I think it deserves a little bit of effort to push through the poor intro to find a real gem. <<less

The low ratings are probably due to only 16 people voting. This stuff is behind a paywall at the webnovel site, which leads to few readers. It is rated 4.4 at webnovel with 128 people rating. Though it may or may not be worth the money, it deserves more than the 3.6 average it has here at NU.

I especially enjoyed the beginning with the hero of the past timeline setup. It wouldn't be bad to just start reading this and then drop it when, or if, you get bored. There... more>> is a loosely episodic setup with different plot arcs, though they aren't marked out, which allows you to read one part at a time. <<less

Honestly, this book should be rated higher than this. I highly recommend this book to other readers as this novel has a well thought plot line, in depth character story and their development. The purpose of the tower and mysteries that would really make you curious is present here. Also I don't understand why a reviewer said that he does not understand why he was saving the people or what. But it's naturally mc's way of showing kindness and this kindness was the reason why he hated the word hero... more>> in his previous life. So a mercenary business is created for the MC to continue helping and preventing the world being destroyed without abusing his kindness and also gaining profit for materials for his weapon (you'll see in the early chapters that he sold a stone smthn to have money and it's also no use to him). I also understand why they said that the MC is like a robot which was the result of him being in a hurry. This just makes sense as the MC is calculating everything in his mind🤷‍♀. I also love the side characters' character development especially the rich CEO 😂. Also, you see how MC overcame his weakness and trauma. How he also stayed calm when he faced Fafnir and slaying Uranus. I also love how there were stories in every floor in the mysteries of the upper floors. Like bro, MC gets to see the original floors (idk maybe it started in 100th floor- IDK, I forgot) as he cleared every floor with lvl. 10 difficulty. And the mysteries of the floor manager or admin? And I like that it does not contain any ounce of romance because romance will just hold back the MC, his potential and his time. Yeah call me bitter but honestly, main character having romance with somebody is so bothersome especially the harem seeking ones (some MCs are so cringey🤢) and MCs who just had some power and then goes around flirting is so damn irritating. (No offense) I had dropped countless novels just because of this. So Yeah. I highly recommend this👍

Also, I wonder if anyone knew that he is already in 200th floor or why does no one wonder or ask why they could not see the mc's lvl 10 difficulty record. I've been thinking about this since he reached 199th floor. I made an account just to give this novel a review 😣 <<less

The overall story is ok. If you're into stuff like Solo Leveling and Second Life Ranker you would enjoy this. Main character is OP, there's a leveling system, towers, and even dungeons, so i'd say it's quite similar. I don't know if its the author or the translation but the narration is a little robotic though. Its a nice and clean read if you're looking for this specific genre so it's still worth a try.

The world building is a bit slow but still somehow worth it. Main character is overwhelmingly... more>> OP though, you think he's reached peak God but he says that it's far from when he was in his heydays in his previous life. So I don't really know what his limits or if there are even limits to his potential.

Spoiler

There's one part where the MC just massacres an elder dragon like it was nothing. He also didn't even bat an eye doing it, but somehow he still wasn't in his peak state. He also just clears blue-level dungeons like its a walk in the park, considering that blue dungeons are one of the third strongest dungeons, it's quite jaw-dropping.

[collapse]

I like op characters though so I don't really mind but some might find it unrealistic (rightly so) and a turn-off so that's just a little bit of a disclaimer. Overall around seven to eight out of ten. <<less

This is a series that you have to sink around 150 chapters into before it gets good. That's not because of the plot, but because of the author DRASTICALLY improving how they write as they progress. The initial stages of the novel are written with many important scenes being described retroactively (... more>>
Spoiler

for example, we're told multiple times that Su-hyeun has already become freinds with Hak-jon, but never do we see them talk to each other until after that relationship becomes important to the story

[collapse]
). I'd highly suggest reading the manhwa instead for the earlier content then jumping to the novel after.

The story itself is pretty much just a pure power-leveling action story with very little to no deviation. Honestly that's a plus in my books though as this author really shines during the fights scenes. Relationships take more of a back seat most of the times (and there certainly isn't any romance to speak of), so the only connections that seem to last are with the people who are able to make an impact in the fights. Most of the early cast is left in the dust as the MC out grows everyone, and while they continue to pop-up here and there, they don't ever change or really impact the story any more. It probably would have gotten a 5 from me if these characters were either dropped entirely or maintained some importance in the MC's life. <<less

This novel deserves to be rated much higher than what it's currently rated as.

The Hero Returns tells a story about Kim Sung Bin, the strongest awakener amongst humanity, returning back in time after being slayed by the world's (currently?) strongest creature, Fafnir. Typical, right?

Well you see, there are many things that made this novel somewhat more special than the other korean dungeon/tower novels, and one of them is our MC, Kim Sung Bin, now known as Kim Su Hyeun.

He was renowned as a hero by the whole world, even by... more>> his past mother, but he didn't let it get to his head nor does he truly act like a saint. Instead of being happy about his position, he instead felt tired. Pressured. But did that mean that he regretted it? No, because he still took action even after his second rebirth, having the goal of saving the world once again. Why? Because this was his choice. In the past, he could've ran away if he wanted to and no one could stop him, and he also clearly acknowledges that as said in the novel.

You can clearly see him having complex feelings about him being a so-called hero and somewhat mentally struggling with his current identity for the first six chapters and brief mentions over the course of the novel, and that's what makes him human compared to the rest (most) of the MCs i've known.

Of course, that doesn't mean that he isn't ruthless. He doesn't hesitate at all when the need to kill arises, getting rid of those he needed to get rid of.

Other than that, there is also the side characters. Some of them are given backstories, even those who are living in the tower and people that we most likely won't ever meet again throughout the series.

Other than that, there's also the tower. The tower isn't all about simply killing monsters. The MC also sometimes has to think or do other tasks in order to complete the tower challenge.

And the author also pays considerable attention to its (magic system?) unlike most korean dungeon novels.

I wouldn't say that this is one of the best novels i've read nor is it capable of matching up amongst the masterpieces up there, but it's definitely an underrated novel with undeserved reviews, and is also a good novel worth reading.

I'm also not very sure about what GoMaste is talking about in his review where he speaks about the MC being robotic because there are many seens that show him to be very much expressive.

Actually, the author adresses this complaint later on, too, by a conversation between Ju-ho and Su-hyeun too.

Spoiler

Lee Ju-ho pulled out another cigarette and mouthed it.

Su-hyeun turned back and asked, "I thought you already quit?"

"I took it up again. No thanks to you."

"Are you that frustrated?"

"How can I not be? I can't help it when a certain idiot is making me worry, after all."

"You think I'm an idiot?"

"That's right. I beg of you to think about yourself first. How come I can't see you take a single day off? At this rate, well, you might look okay on the outside, but your innards will burn out sooner rather than later."

Su-hyeun remained silent for a while at Lee Ju-ho's words.

The older man wondered if he had stepped out of line just now and was about to check the mood of the latter, but Su-hyeun opened his mouth first.

"I remember seeing footage a long time ago. It was of a burning building in downtown Seoul... "

He suddenly began talking about an unrelated topic. But his voice sounded serious, so Lee Ju-ho paid attention, the cigarette hanging loosely between his fingers.

"Amid all the raging fire and thick smoke, there was a cry. The footage showed that it came from a person on the fourth floor. It was from a child about six years old."

"Why this story out of the blue... ?"

"The onlookers were filming this scene. With their smartphones and their cameras. Even though this child was crying out asking for someone to save him."

"... "

"I don't think they were in the wrong, though. Well, it would be difficult for anyone to lend a helping hand in that kind of situation, after all. There wasn't much those people could've done until the fire engines arrived on the scene. And finally, even if there was something they could have done, it didn't mean they must do it, after all."

Not a lot of people would be willing to jump into an inferno for the sake of a stranger. They wouldn't point their fingers at you and criticize you even if you or anyone else chose not to. No, they would probably think you did the right thing in that case.

It was obvious why.

Because nothing was more precious than their own lives.

Because that was the smart and wise thing to do.

"But even then, there was this one guy among all those onlookers. This idiotic guy."

"An idiotic guy?"

"I don't know who he was. He could've been the child's father or maybe even the next-door neighbor. In any case, he jumped into the fire and, soon enough, came outside while carrying the child. He got burn wounds all over his body and was the first person to get driven away in the ambulance. But thanks to him, the child survived."

When Lee Ju-ho heard that far, he finally got what Su-hyeun was trying to say.

"Do you think that man was an idiot?"

However, that didn't mean he could make a straightforward reply.

He certainly couldn't label someone an idiot, and...

"But that's not the right thing to do, is it?"

And he certainly shouldn't be agreeing to that either.

Su-hyeun's situation would be the same story.

"You may have the right to be smart and simply be a bystander, yes, but it's definitely wrong to call someone an idiot, a fool, for being unable to watch idly what's going on, isn't it?" Su-hyeun got up from his seat and said his last words before leaving for good. "So yeah, I can't figure out what's so idiotic about it."

All I can say is that if you like a hero robot, than go ahead and read this.

The MC saves people he doesn't know, which is respectable. The problem is that he offends people, which can bit him in the ass. His mother may get killed but he doesn't care as long as he saves that one guy he spoke to once which he has some sympathy for.

He is a robot, he has no desires. He never tries to get a gf, never tries to better his life with money... more>> or get power with an organization which helps him. He basically works on favors, "Hey man please help me I'll owe you", but can he really trust random people?

So back to his desires, he only wants to save the world like he is some kind of robot which was programmed to save stuff (I mean, anything, tell me anything he wants besides saving the world, get a life ffs, does he want immortality? Anything??).

So anyway, while I think his actions are admirable, he is not acting like a human which is a minus for me. Peace <<less

The MC is good and the story is well planed, but it suffers from two serious things. I don't know whether it's the writer's fault or the translation but the narration is awful, it felt almost robotic. This leads to the second problem, the story lack a key element, tension, the MC is just overpowered. He's a reincarnatior alright, but he has an obvious weakness that non of his enemy care to target, nor is he prepared for that either, his mother. He just like that revealed his identity provoking... more>> a global underground organization. You can turn a blind eye to this loophole but the lack of tension along with robotic narration make for a boring story. <<less

It's definitely one of your typical overpowered protagonist stories where it's just exponential growth all the way to the end. Though in my opinion, it's a one-up from other similar stories like Solo Leveling. It got bromance and found family instead of romance and you can grasp the type of character the protagonist is which is usually something difficult for me.

The main character becomes a one-man army, but despite that, he still has people who support him even if he doesn't need it because of plot armor and whatnot. I... more>> do wish there were more vulnerable moments with the main character, it would have really fleshed his character out more and remind readers how heavy the burden he keeps to himself. It will also help make him more human as every hurdle he goes over seems to just be a brief moment as he regains his wits every time and like magic, he overcomes it.

When dealing with backstories and lore, it's quite cliche. No part of the plot was a real twist which was something I was hoping for considering the possibilities available in this worldbuilding.

Anyways, I think it has a pretty strong start especially if you started with the manhwa (it is pretty funny looking at the main character). It does slowly die out towards the middle and end but the last chapter hits pretty hard. It makes my heart go weh

I think if you are looking for some type of filler novel, this will suffice. <<less

So-so its a good read if you dont mind the pacing and how they handle characters.

Honestly speaking I cant say anything about the pacing of this story because I mostly skipped the fighting scenes. It was good at the start but started getting repetitive at some point. Im a reader mostly focused on character relationship and least to say that the relationships here are lackluster and bland. Im not saying I dont like the extras but gosh dAMN the way they just disappear in the middle pissed me off.

Hak-joon, thomas... more>> and Rohan barely had any screen time after MC went to 60th floor. I love the brotherhood between the three new characters but something just felt missing in it. They sort of get fleshed out in the end yes but its still not enough to get attached with them. The whole series I was craving even interactions between all characters and not one sided focus on them (like how the first arcs and so focus on the earth friends then once the other world family appeared they just disappeared)

Enough about relationships lets move on to the plot:

The MC, Kim su-hyeun (KSH) is very gary-sue. I dont mind it too much since they give sufficient reason but!! The problem is that he is VERY VERY gary-sue. So much so that his skills are actually contradicting each other bit still works without any backlash. In the end you just go "ohhHh another skill is added okay then"

Theres not many parts that actually gripped me and excited me. Honestly I only recall one scene and thats his farewell to 60th floor where the plot started speeding up

Thats all!

TL:DR: an okay read to pass time <<less

I surprisingly (or not?) enjoyed this very much. This is basically another one of those classic Korean tower-conquering novels. Every cliche in it you've probably read before... Tortured hero/OP protagonist who goes back in time to save the world, dungeons appearing, towers to climb, mom to lift out of poverty, other countries to impress, South Korea is the strongest, protagonist becomes world's top dog... you name it, this light novel has it.

Yet it's very likable. The author takes what seems to be like a very by-the-book plot and somehow gives... more>> it a lot more depth and character growth than I'm used to in these sorts of novels. MC is absolutely laden with massive survivor's guilt and anxiety on top of what is implied to be an abusive childhood, and over the course of the novel he slowly comes to accept and release his lingering trauma. Each of the side characters also have pretty decent plot arcs of their own and (shockingly) little romance arcs with other side characters. (MC is the standard loner dude, of course).

I also rather like that MC gets called out once or twice about being kind of a monk and not really enjoying his fame and wealth, and will occasionally indulge in his hobbies, like hanging out in little coffee shops.

Secondly, I like that the tower and the dungeons all have their own plot explanations. I won't spoil it for anyone, but it does all fit very cohesively into a whole.

Cons: MC is over-powered and I mean over-powered. I can't think of a time he's lost a fight except in the prologue. Also, the fact that the story is cliché makes it sometimes easy to predict. Translation was a bit wonky in the early stages (Richies? really?), but it gets better later.

Anyhow, this is a Korean tower-climber-dungeon-crawler and if it's a Korean tower-climber-dungeon-crawler that you're looking for, I think you might like it. If you don't really have that particular itch to scratch at the moment, you might want to hold off. <<less

I remember reading this a year ago. Well, the start is similar to other where OP MC died, reborn to other identity back in the past, have harsh previous life, then he train to get stronger, help those people and treated as a hero, like what his previous role is. He was pushed and teach to be a hero in his previous life so you could understand about his current personality. I understand that he was kind and ya know hero-type, but there is one scene, I didn't remember it... more>> all but I think it was during the time he got the crystal thing that only 4 of it appeared. He just give it to some npc to sell for money cuz of debt or something. Like, bruh, You could just give something else why that rare crystal? It was disappointing, he could do many things with that thing and he was like "Its a pity but It cant be help and amma not regret it." but he got a character development. I also like the twists, the fighting scenes also drag a bit but it wasn't that bad. The world building is a bit slow but still good. <<less

It's ok, just too simple, especially for the characters:

  • MC filial love is artificial, and really, we don't need it in the story.
  • MC heroism lacks a reason, I like heroic characters, but they need something triggering that.
  • characters feel too simple minded, so it's difficult to feel a desire to know what's going to happen to them next.
  • total absence of romance.
The translation ranges from ok to very weird :

Spoiler

I still don't understand what they smoked to translate Lich (the monster) to Richie.

MC actually experiences pretty deep character development throughout the story. He's the stereotypical upright and righteous hero who's seen the world at its worst, and still thinks it's worth saving. But in the beginning, it seems like he's doing this because he's simply a good person (which isn't a bad thing). However, as he meets other people, as the pressure of the plot speeds up, and as MC himself broadens his knowledge on things, you see him really grow out of his steadfast and mechanical mindset. His personality might feel... more>> bland at the beginning because it feels like he's doing the sacrificial things due to his character archetype, but isn't that all people, doing things bc of their nature? Empathy is a very human thing, and I think most ppl forget that and believe if someone does something extremely self-sacrifical, it's instantly "unrealistic" to the point of robotic. Though, I also think the author doesn't bother to uncover MC's internal thoughts until later in the novel, so in the beginning he does seem almost mechanical and externally motivated rather than internally moved. but!!1 trust, later y9u'll see the author reveal more of MC's kind and true-self that feels buried in the beginning due to his ambitions to just get powerful. also, imo, the plot is really interesting, especially in the later chapters as the author slowly reveals how much bigger the scheme of the world is relative to earth like holy shit. Also, the author actually takes time to dimension the characters that MC comes across, as well as MC himself in the later chapters, and you see that while they don't directly impact the plot itself, they deeply affect the MC, and that without them, the plot would fall a part. Also, I'm just a sucker for novels that are "there's a grander scheme going on than you initially thought, " so maybe that's why im super invested in the plot.

honestly, love this novel. It's really fun and I really enjoy the MC. He's like, , , that stereotypical hero that doesn't come off as overwhelmingly self righteous, but isn't a pushover to emotions. Tbh, I think it deserves way more clout than it currently has. I don't like comparing novels or peoples' works, but I honestly find MC to be very similar to sung jinwoo from solo leveling. Like, , , opposite personality, but same spectrum, u know.

like I just feel like the hero trend these days is the "morally grey" personality type, which are super fun to read and explore, and people tend to drop the 'righteous hero' stereotype because they often feel very one-dimension. But reading a character like MC here feels refreshing, and while he's nothing special in comparison to the rest of his genre, imo, he's super well-executed and actually grows into this stereotype, rather than take a severe plummet into the grimdark, or become overly righteous and flat. <<less

Current trans is until c306

MC is OP and does a one man show, but doesn't make it boring and leaves other side characters in dust

Like other Novels, MC is already one of the best in the world and the author just throws out new super-tiered power just for the sake of it

its still long before the end of the novel and will wait for it

This is for those who liked hardworking and op MC, the story is good but thevworld building is a bit slow it took a while for the story to move outside Korea

Also I believe in chapter 71, what he got is the high quality one (which is he have no use or he needed it to raise the completion as the fallen noble need more, I guess?), not the highest which is only appear 4, maybe the count will go up as he raid more dangereous dungeon as the butterfly... more>> effect is starting to kicking in.

Also for today the number of chapter is 149

Maybe this is your cup of tea, who know maybe you should try for a couple of chapters. <<less

It's a decent regression novel among the C-tier I suppose. It's just that there's ABSOLUTELY nothing to feel about it. I just can't relate to any of the characters and to anything that happens you just can't be like "Oh I wonder how did he feel here?" or "How would I go about this situation?"

The one and only writing tool the author has is basically deus ex. Everything is an absolute asspull without any groundwork laid for it, and most sadly it's all so boring too. Part of the asspulls... more>> and random crap he comes up can obviously be forgiven, it's a lot easier to write fantasy with greater creative freedom after all. Most of it is however just stuff like really weird and awkwardly easy situations that the author comes up on the spot which seem to both mean something and at the same time mean absolutely nothing to the MC. I can't tell if he's done those things in his first life because he still struggles with them and doesn't appear to know sh*t about them, and only after a while of f*cking up he just magically comes up with something random and ends the fight or whatever situation he's in.

It's very hard to further expand on that earlier point but basically the MC will "re-do" a lot of stuff in the novelworld but there's never any indication for the reader that he has done it before successfully, there's never any setup for how he is going to do those things. Pair this up with the obviously low creativity of the author and its just asspull stuff like "Heh. To kill this dragon I bought a one time use dragon killing spear!" while the fight is commencing. And the 'twists' are at best like "Who said I only bought one spear! I have bested you foolish dragon!" which are just pathetic. Btw before this interaction there was no indication that he was going to fight a dragon, there was never any mention of a dragon killing spear, there was never any setup that the store could sell such specific items.. Nothing.

For regression and re-do type setup there's truly almost none of the usual writing tools that keep readers interested. There's no relatable superiority, there's no skill/time abuse, there's no grown up mature characters.. Even the world building is just single word description or names of places. I really can't grasp onto much when it comes to trying to hook onto this novel. The MC is an absolute wet blanked type of character that just like a marionette does random things the author wants, none of the side characters are basically memorable to a point where I could right now (5 minutes after reading it) even tell their names. No events are in any way memorable in the book, in fact looking back everything is very artificial and just glossed over.

A lot of the things you can't even follow in the book honestly. This author really has no idea how to setup his plotlines.

So I don't think this is worth investing much time onto. I dropped this series at chapter 57. <<less
