Hey Mates~

Cheon Yeonho was/is a Game Director. He had a pretty unfulfilling previous life but was able to achieve some of his dreams like getting the Indie Game of the Year award in the last life but sadly he died due to overwork and went to Hell. He experienced a lot of different things and events in those Hells. Yes, there are a lot of Hell types.

Our protagonist was in Hell for a while before he was regressed back in time to his college days where our story begins. He... more>> was inspired from the scenes and environment of the Hell which he saw. The only thought in his mind at that time was to make those Hell into a game.

So with the knowledge of his previous life, he builds his own team to develop games based on Hell. He makes a team of talented individuals both old (last life) and new to make great games.

This is a modern-day web novel which primarily focuses on the day to day life of our protagonist and how he makes those games. It is more of college/office/slice of life/comedy type novel than action-adventure, so if you want heavy game elements focused web novel then this might not be for you.

The novel primarily will focus on the building various games based on Hell and their success and how daily interactions happen between the characters and their unique different personalities. So this is a great recommendation for people who like these elements. <<less

So far it is a great read the most enjoyable part of the story is mostly centered around the people he met in hell and the conclusions to their stories.

But I think there's some missed potential for the main character the man had been through hell literally and yet he's completely fine, he suffered and watched people suffer for who knows how long, and yet there's no trauma or anything which I think is a miss on the authors part I would've liked it more if he had some emotional... more>> trauma that he could've overcome through the story but other than the novels worth your time <<less

Never read any works by papapa before, (author of the blind saint and the regressor).

I will say though, it like many other game director webnovels is a work of love by the author reminiscing over their favorite games and a nice look back on the history of game development and releases as a whole.

From blizzard, to hearthstone, MMORPGs, it was a nice business, urban life fantasy webnovel, with a decent amount of wish fulfillment, but unique story nonetheless.

Actual masterpiece, it's Dante's inferno if Dante got revived and decided to create a game about his experiences, the rom com aspects aren't a super big part of it where I'm at, but the slow build up is super cute. It's also really funny, it's had me tearing up and laughing multiple times.

And the game design is super unique and adds a lot considering they are his actual experiences.

Crazy good and recommended, I think everyone should give it a try until they atleast get to the hell part.

An interesting story paired with steady translations! We get to see the development and growth of a video game director and his team. Good pacing and a lot of potential so far!

It is great!

The pacing and story flow perfectly together. The inteeactions between the chacters, the game, and the gaming community have a fair sense of realism and humor, while also maintaing a purpose.

The story of the second game is worth an entire novel by itself.

I reccomend giving this novel a shot.

Where do I even begin with this one. The start may seem a bit slow but it gradually picks up its pace and turns into a masterpiece. I can't think of a single thing to change from this story.

The author has clearly done their due diligence with the descriptions of the game industry. The characters are great, each with their own lively personalities. The comedy is very well-done ... more>>

especially with the antics of Development Team 2

. The character development itself is great with Cheon Yeonho gradually letting go of his past regrets and striving for a better future with the people he cherish. The descriptions of the scenes are top-notch quality, allowing for an intense immersion into the narrative. The stories of Hell and how they slowly unravel throughout the novel is something that I cannot get tired of and always leaves me yearning for more.

As for the romance, it is visible here and there. Up to the point I've read, the development has been quite slow. So for those of you picking up this story expecting fast romantic development, this is not the novel for you. However, I still recommend reading this (as I am also a sucker for romance in novels).

For those that are thinking of dropping this early, please hang on. At least until the second game he releases.

In my opinion, the first 15 chapters are a bit hard for me to read since there are a lot of details being explained, even me who is on an IT college course. Later on, it's getting good with the narrative, keeping their promises of not just simply forcing setting knowledge to us, but also narrating the story in one. I'm giving this a 5 star for that.

I love this novel, it's a modern version of the Divine Comedy. Instead of recounting the experience of visiting hell through a book, the protagonist does it through video games.

The novel is fun, I like the interaction among the members of the development team and how each character has their own personality and contributes in their own way to the development of the video game. Overall, I think it's a good novel, but it's a shame that there are no more translations from chapter 109 onwards, especially knowing that the... more>> raw version is already finished. <<less

I think it’s pretty good, in the sense that it only has one really interesting part of it and the author knows how to use that to his advantage. Kinda like digging one well to make something good instead of something more balanced.

In this story, the best part is obviously the games and the vivid and interesting depictions of hell shown through each of them, as well as the well thought out game mechanics that could honestly exist in the real world if anyone bothered to make it. Its to... more>> the point that it makes the reader actually want to go inside the novel and play the games being depicted.

However, this comes at the cost of pretty much everything else in the story. Besides the games themselves, everything else is mediocre at best. The real life characters each have like one personality point and are otherwise as interesting as wet tissue paper. The plot of making a company and showing the making of the games is interesting at first with the references to irl games and the realistic explanation of a small indie dev team, but by the time they get to their third game it all blends together. There’s some kinda love triangle b-plot between the MC and two female co workers but it might as well not exist.

Honestly, I would be completely fine if you were to completely cut out all of the filler chapters between the actual depiction of the games and how they play and it would be just as good of a story. The real life characters honestly don’t add that much.

Overall though, the reason why it’s 4 stars is because the chapters where the games are depicted are that good. I would still recommend reading it, and if you ever get bored reading the filler chapters don’t feel too bad skipping them, you’re not missing much. <<less

It’s a very well made web novel. Narrative is clear and straightforward, journey of the game-making process is enjoyable with excitement here & there and minimum technical details. Characters though, gets a minus for lack of depth.

But the point of this novel is just about the game based of hell, others are just minor. Overall deserving of its prize.
