I was a princess who lived in the back of the palace, as no one cared about my health.

Damn it.

I felt pain the more I moved and the blood pressure would drop if I expressed excitement.

I was on my deathbed.

Until one day the Emperor visited me.

“You will die soon.”

“Yes, so … Koh … cough.”

He had no interest in me.

I had an idea to call him when the blood suddenly came out of my mouth. The emperor left a surprise, and my life began to change since that day.

Meh. It's so-so. If you're looking for over-the-top melodrama, it's an okay read. The translation isn't the best, but certainly better than MTL. The author failed to open the story with a detailed enough description of her sufferings for me to pity her when she's all like 'I wanna die'. How long she herself was lying in that body, how gradually the pain wore her down, the abuse the maid caused towards her, besides ignoring her, it's all either vague or not mentioned at all, leading her #1 personality trait... more>> of wanting to die to seem like purposeful and unnecessary melodrama.

Also, she claims to want to die peacefully, but doesn't want to kill herself or have a quick death via sword or the like because she doesn't like pain. But she's already in a ton of pain, apparently? Enough to make her want to die? She doesn't make any sense as a proper character, so I ended up making fun of her instead of pitying her.

As far as the useless father goes,
Spoiler

of course it's going to be an amnesia plot twist, where he really did forget about her. But that's s*upid. No one thought to remind him of her existence? She has two older siblings who should've known another was coming. Lots of employees, too, one of which finally did tell him about her. Why wait for years to remind him of her? It's really s*upid and hammed in.

[collapse]

And one moooorrreeee thing! That maid!
Spoiler

Given the room's description of having cobwebs and being neglected, it's pretty obvious she didn't do her job, and was partially responsible for the princess' condition. Why wasn't she immediately executed? AND allowed to continue to serve her? It makes absolutely no sense at all. What kind of royal family is this supposed to be that she gets away with it without doing anything? Yeah, sure, the princess allegedly allowed her to continue working for her to make her suffer, but the fact remains that the woman continuing to live after her transparent abuse of royalty makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I suppose that's what you must expect from a novel that has a cannon fodder s*upid enough to do that in the first place.

[collapse]

TL;DR, my suspension of disbelief was reached by the end of the first chapter, and I only continued reading it for the unintentional comedy. The main character really makes me think of a fake white lotus when I analyze her actions logically. <<less

The MC lived a life of pain and was also bullied by her own maid. But then suddenly something appeared and "poof" the father seems to care now? Wtf. That poor girl literally lived while feeling her own organs failing, or melting as the physician said. And now, just when she had enough and just wanted to die, now you want her to live? Tsk. Entitled bastard.

You know those animal rescue videos? Yeah, she ain't like them. So that's why I'm calling him an entitled bastard for forcing down treatment.

But... more>> in all honestly, I don't think she really wants to die. There'll always be that tiny bit of regret in her heart. So, in the end, I'm glad he's forcing down the treatment. But I'm siding with him solely on the basis of the knowledge that her disease is indeed treatable. If it was a terminal illness, then that's another story.

I'm really curious about his excuse. He literally forgot her existence for all this time, and only remembered her when she spat blood on his shirt?

Her wanting death can literally spark so many discussions about the terminally ill patients' views on their struggle for life. Same for animals, euthanization. Do you want to see your buddy live with you a little bit longer although suffering, or do you just want to give them a peaceful rest? However, I do believe that her "illness" is more of a curse rather than a disease. <<less

TLDR: It's poorly done, even if you're a fan of the poor little princess genre this one won't appeal

The translation is good a solid 4/5 but the novel itself is just full of fail.

Lets look at how the novel fails. There's the dying princess, she's generic. We don't know her age, we don't know her background, just that she's dying in a bed with a surly/abusive maid at her side.

The same goes for her father and her siblings. The author fails to develop any connection to them in the first... more>> 10 chapters. The conversion from not knowing she existed to a concerned family is unbelievable and destroys any sense of immersion.

This genre simply doesn't work if the author doesn't manage to connect you to the characters <<less

I appreciate the MC’s attitude towards the caring newcomers. I think it’s appropriate for her to be resentful to them after she was neglected/forgotten. However it’s sad to see her continue to say that she wants to die because she’s in so much pain.

Everyone just seems to ignore how angry she is and why she’s so angry. I just hopes she feels better because it really IS sad.

The translation is pretty good, a few small errors here and there but it’s not hard to read.

The translation is great but the story itself is meh.

Spoiler

In the start, it's seems like the maid is not doing her job that well of taking care of her since when the MC asked for water. The maid didn't obey. Then later in the story, the maid is still around and the MC didn't even get rid of her, acting like the maid wasn't part of the reason why she was suffering. The fact that people saw the condition of the room that the MC was in and say yeah the maid did a great and fantastic job at taking care of the MC. Don't they see the spider webs? Like other maids was like "please treat me well as you did to your maid" like what?

[collapse]

Spoiler

The emperor to me is hateful. Like how you gonna not remember you had a child plus the fact that there hella people around. The emperor be like "your eyes are asking for help, but you want to di3". Like of course she does. She suffered her whole life there. She's in pain and want to end it duh. She want the pain to stop so in order to stop the pain, death is the only fast option. Also him talking about god chose her, like tf, if god didn't, you wouldn't still gaf about the MC right?

[collapse]

This story just makes me mad tbh.

Spoiler

Also when the MC wants peace and want to sleep, they be ignoring her like she isn't sick. Like leave the poor girl alone, didn't y'all want her to be better? They do be noisy.

This was horrible. The translations that are still on the internet (because the wattpad one is gone) are really hard to understand, but that was not even an issue. I have never before read something so frustrating and illogical at the same time.

She is a dying princess who is abandoned and handled like shit. When her father remembers she exists he visits her and still acts like she's a pest. The very next day all of that is forgotten and they start pouring all their 'considerate' feeling on her, while... more>> she doesn't even want that.

Her father keeps being a dump fu** and annoys her every moment he can. And all of a sudden they keep insisting he loves her. Atleast the princess is also annoyed by everyone.

Honestly, I think the translater didn't translate more than a few chapters, because they were too annoyed to translate further. <<less

welp I take back my review from last time after reading the spoilers. I wanna give this a 1 star, there's too much drama in this, and the father is total scum. I was fooled by the first novel cover, sorry this is not my cup of tea.
