Personally I'd like to wait a little longer before waiting a review but the rating by the time I write this bugs me so much... This novel deserves more than a measly 3.9 when other novels worse than this get higher than that.

I personally find this novel very well-written. Sure the premise isn't the most original but as long as it's well-executed there's nothing wrong with that. The pacing is very acceptable imo; the author delves deeper into the character's thoughts and actions without dragging it too much. The characters... more>> are not two-dimensional as well; they definitely have their own thoughts that readers could understand and sympathize with and as they interacted with each other, they slowly changed in a definitely not far-fetched way. Jasper, Rose, Rose's tsundere-ish bully-to-friend Rebecca, Jasper's roommate Caleb, Adela... heck, even Jasper's antagonistic brother Ethan and Rose's wastrel father start to show signs of change.

As for the worldbuilding, I'd say there are novels out there with more extensive worldbuilding than this one, but I can see the author putting effort into it. While the blooming romance of these two ignorant kids is still the focus of the story, I think we'll see more political intrigues in future chapters.

Anyway I'd recommend to give this one a try. Hopefully the author will wrap up the story in a satisfying way just as it has developed quite satisfactorily. <<less

Let me start like this: I didn't take a liking to this novel from the beginning then the ML's personality hit me so hard that I found myself sobbing.

Really, at first, the writing style bothered me A LOT. The paragraphs include too many unimportant, repeated or obvious details and are unnecessarily long. When your eyes arrive at the dialogues it feels like you completed a chore. But it got better. Slowly all the mumbo jumbo slowly added meaning to the story unlike most novels in this genre. Well, I still... more>> skimmed through ALL FL's magical blablablas anyway.

Ah, I should say FL's friends touched my nerves. That didn't change because the author's use of them was a bit tasteless for me. I find it extremely irritating when a MC keeps fitting other female characters to their MLs in her mind. For a while Briley this, Briley that continued and annoyed me to death.

THEN. It started to get super enjoyable after chapter 25. GAAAAAH yeaaaah he is too soft.... The boy is SOFT! I started to like Briley too when she opened MC's mind to romance. God bless.

This book had so many annoying points BUT it was all worth it because: In a single reaction FL gives ML loses it. IT WAS SO CUTE. He's SO FRINKING THINKFULL OF HER. I was screaming inside. I'm willing to forget any negative points and give this a HARD 5. Definetely would read it again~

+Translation by blueheartedlass was superb! I appreciate their hard work!

Another note: I wish I could unsee AI art and greedy ad count/placements on the Salmonlatte site. There are many talented beginner artists that draw these stuff for dirt cheap. It doesn't feel good to see stolen art style on the top of stolen novels. Anyway, use an ad-blocker guys, I'm not even against ads but in this case they deserve it. <<less

MC is a bit Mary suey (though it is early to say it) and is fawned upon buy most people constant talk about how small and cute she is. Not a bad character just couldn't come to love her

Story is good though fairly readable not a masterpiece as so far it seems the cliché tutoring the the popular boy but you never know about the future

the ML has a fiance for a looong time and everyone in school talks about it + even her friend wanted to become her girlfriend at first. Even if he doesn't love his fiance and didn't want to have one, it still spoils the story to me bc then she's part of their circle.

the characters talks and acts like childs, and while it's fine bc they are adolescents, I guess I still prefer more developped characters with more intelligence. It isn't really about age, I read lot of stories in highscools and colleges, but more about the way they think things. It's a subjective opinion honestly.

But honestly it's nothing too bad, it's just isn't interesting to me but yes, if you search a cute story you can read it. <<less

She's a normal girl in a dramatic life. I like her realistic, yet strong reactions and choices. You could really see the character growth.

Every supporting character is well written and has personal motivations. Love the MC's roommate.
