TL;DR - DO NOT DROP I promise it's worth it. Sweet but also very spicy. Great work portraying the characters' complex emotions, even ones that seem black-and-white at first. The plot starts off kinda slow but things start to pick up after a certain point. It clearly has its flaws but it's far better than most of the sh*t on this website. And no harem (yes some girls like him but he doesn't like them back) is a nice plus for me.

First of all, I'd like to thank the translators... more>> for choosing vocabulary that matches the medieval fantasy setting. I know this sounds dumb but it's important to me because it helps me immerse into the setting better.

To be honest I had mixed feelings about this coming in. I enjoyed the succession race plot because I'm naturally biased towards those types of plots, and this setting. BUT I wasn't very interested in the kingdom-building, medical advancement kind of stuff that I've seen repeated thousands of times before. But if you're into that then that's fine. If not, then you can skip chaps until the pace picks up.

Spoiler

And the overreactions to medicine which shouldn't have effects that instant (maybe their efficacy was boosted by his powers or something) but then again the difference between having medicine and not having it is probably huge enough to warrant a surprised reaction. But I digress. The point was that it felt a bit too forced at the start. Same with the obligatory "MC's native country's cuisine is the tastiest sh*t ever" trope.

But after a certain point, things start to get a lot more exciting.

Romance: The chemistry between the ML and FL is great. I've seen people complain that ML is oblivious but, when you've been killed by a girl over 50 times WHILE she verbally expressed her hatred towards you, then you'd second, third, and fourth-guess her feelings too. Not to mention your own. The banter between the two is well-written. Their interactions - really sweet but, if you're not as dense as the two subjects themselves, they also have a spicy undertone. That's like 50% of the excitement.

It's not just fluff though, as they go in-depth with ML and FL's, hell, almost every relevant character's emotions, even seemingly black-and-white ones like minor antagonists, side characters, staff, family members, etc.

Which doesn't seem like a lot, or even necessary, but to me it feels really nice because it adds a lot of overall depth to the whole world too, rather than an empty one where all their staff are just tools and plot devices with no emotions of their own. Not to mention author go a bit above and beyond, making the staff members not only lively but also very human and often called back and important to the plot.

Spoiler

After the FL discovers clues about ML's past, things start to get a lot more exciting. Then when you're seemingly at the climax after FL is healed

Novel is a lot better than novels of similar rating so I’m going to boost it. Good villainess, no harem romance novel with non-OP MC. It’s a good read if you enjoy these elements like I do :)

Interesting premise so far. I enjoy the interactions between the main character and the villain, especially in the beginning. It is fun to see such a world-weary character.

One strange thing--another group (ILC) had translated this novel, up to chapter 19 I believe--and these translations are still up on their website. Now they are gone from NU and a new group has posted 19 translations as well... and their chapters have the same grammatical mistakes and mistranslations. Very odd.

I was really charmed by this work and had a great time reading it. It's a work that I was initially hesitant to read due to the unremarkable title and synopsis, but now I am greatly satisfied to have read it.

If you're interested in reading a romance novel that really sticks to and dedicates itself to its premise of 'giving the villainess a good ending', then this is the novel to read. I was very impressed by how the work never overextends itself or betrays its hook by trying to... more>> be something that it isn't--that must have taken a lot of restraint and planning on the writer's part.

The novel has some major deficiencies and the author is clearly an amateur, but it's clear from the scenario they've crafted that they're someone who puts a lot of passion and care into their writing and I really respect them for that.

In terms of criticism the largest gripe I have is that many of the early story beats begin to drag as the protagonist repeatedly responds with frustrating and cliche obliviousness to his love interest's affections. Later on in the story, those feelings are actually recontextualized for coldness and willful ignorance as a result of trauma accumulated over past regressions, but I think the author should have seriously considered exploring those depths earlier on into the narrative. Of course, that development was only the result of the author's growth as a writer, so I can't really blame them.

I'm looking forward to the author's next book as I've now definitely become a fan of theirs. I saw that they have an R-19 work with a pun like S-EX rank in the title and I thought that was just hilariously s*upid. <<less

This is damn good.

I won't get into spoilers, but this is solid from start to finish, and to top it off, the ending is really, really good. The ending made me feel like it would be impossible to write fanfiction that is more satisfying of a conclusion to the story.

The story does have several weaknesses (all admitted by the author in the afterword as valid problems), but in comparison to anything else on this site it would be a crime to not give 5 stars.

I swapped over to an mtl... more>> website to finish reading, and it had no problems, other than a name change of one or two characters, but neither were major characters anyways so wherever.

Last part of the story felt a little bit too fast paced narratively, but emotionally I was entirely satisfied so I have no real problems.

I absolutely recommend reading this, the character growth is 10/10 <<less

Worth the read.

Summary: MC been through several regressions with the villainess, but they were all 1 month regressions. This time he got run with 10 years in the past. The villainess is in her teenage years and can change.

It's a great light read. It's a progression story where the MC prefers medicine over healing magic. There's sprinkle of romance or at least progressing towards it. It starts out amazing, but then drags. The MC is too oblivious to romance and no sign of changing. It was funny at first, but... more>> happens too often. I prefer if the author focus on MC and Villainess relationship progression. It's more towards MC's medical progression and factions' conflicts.

The translation is done really well too. I had no issues or complaints. <<less
