This SCP-like story has got me absolutely hooked. The main character is pretty fun to follow through the novel since they become an anomaly themselves. The other 'anomalies' are cool as well; they're different from what you normally see and are very mysterious. The chapters are pretty short, but the author makes each line have an impact. All in all, a pretty interesting novel.

Ran here to rant for more updates!

There's lots of fluff, cuteness and adorbs in the story even if it started somewhat mysterious that made my heart pound in wariness. Then there's the shifting of mindset of our dearest MC, or maybe her brain just turned into jelly (pun). I dunno. The idea of the MC pretending to be dumb to get free food and accommodation hits the right spot! I also want to laze around like that and sometimes prove my worth, but more on the laziness part. Unfortunately, life... more>> is not a fantasy, so I can only bite my handkerchief in envy!

I want to write a longer review, but due to some unavoidable circumstances of time and classes, I can't afford to write more. Just know that I'm waiting! Waiting! Waiting! I'll try to re-read the story from the top again to get more idea about this Twilight's Call thingy~ <<less

I adore this story so far. I've always been a sucker for SCP-style stories and this definitely scratches that itch.

The early chapters give us a general idea of how the protagonist behaves when they are left to their own devices; things like calling the rats they eat "friends, " how they react to seeing humans for the first time, and taking advantage of more threatening creatures to chase humans away when it feels threatened all provide valuable character building early on.

The interactions with humans later on follow a similar pattern.... more>> Rather than trying to prove its intelligence, the protagonist is more worried about proving its usefulness to the people it perceives as dangerous. Seeing how their mindset changes over time is my favourite part of the story.

I highly recommend this if you have even a passing interest SCP-style stories, and even if you don't, the protagonist might be interesting enough to carry you through it anyway. <<less

Maybe it gets better later on, but the start is horrible. I tried to power through, given its high ratings, but I couldn't do it.

The first 25 chapters have been beyond boring and unremarkable, except for the parts that feel like the author's s*xual desires leaking through. The more I read, the more I wondered why this was written, and why in this manner, and in this pacing.

Not as engaging or horrifying as Seoul Object Story, and instead of Seoul Object Story's fuzzy cuteness, you get 'grown man transformed into... more>> naked loli' kink instead. <<less

If you know the lobotomy corporation/SCP setting, you will understand things a little better. This is a very interesting and engaging story, with pov switches between MC and the various humans involved in the events taking place. The MC is non-human and its up for debate if (s) he is really who she thinks she is or just an echo of the person originally killed. This line is blurred more and more as the story goes on because the slime itself has unique properties that are scientifically unsound. There is... more>> a main female pov that I guess you could call the FL who struggles to figure out if the MC is really a person or just a really cute but potentially dangerous animal and she helps add important context to the things the MC doesnt know or cant figure out on their own. <<less

So far, I like it, its about a dude who gets transformed into slime in a scp setting.

The protagonist does not seem very smart tho, well I mean, what can you expect from a sentient block of slime.

Its a daily release, so you can look forward to chapters each day.

Some parts are hard to understand. Its still enjoyable tho.

Not alot of chapters yet, the story has not come very far.

Spoiler ahead,

Basic summery so far,

Reincarnated into blob, escaped sewer, trapped, meet meat.

The synopsis might be a bit confusing, so here's my attempt at one:

Beneath the seemingly ordinary world hides a darker and more mysterious world. Anomalies that defy rational explanation threaten to throw the world into chaos. One office worker finds himself in the wrong at the wrong time and fuses with one such anomaly. When he wakes up, he finds himself in the sewers transformed into a slime girl. With a new body as a non-human existence watch as our newborn slime girl explore her new reality.

This story is about... more>> how our newfound slime girl cutely navigates her new existence with her main ability - looking cute.

On to of that, there are hints of greater world building. Secret government agencies trying to hide and contain anomalies from the general public. As well as attempts to study and classify them. Which leads back to why the synopsis reads the way it does - top secret report not meant for public view. <<less

Love the story so far! Absolutely love how due to some misunderstandings the MC was deemed to lack human thought. Can’t wait to see how everything turns out for them!

Amazingly captivating story. The lore building is reminiscent to SCP and Lobotomy Corp where there's an organization safekeeping mysterious anomalies and entities. Our MC is miserable but optimistic and keeps the readers engaged with how active she is throughout the story. Pretty unique and interesting idea overall, especially for a gender bender novel.

Very fun. It is a SCP-style stories

The story moves at a breakneck pace, zooming in on the life of a slime girl protagonist. While there are other characters in the mix, their roles are often minimized, leaving much of their actions and development offstage.

As for the writing style, it's all about what the protagonist, our slime girl, is up to. There's little attention paid to painting the world around her, focusing instead on her immediate actions and reactions.

About our main character. She's quite the character herself, craving a simple, carefree... more>> existence filled with food and toy. Whenever she gobbles up one of those mysterious Anomalies, she gains a new power. She's not all that interested in unlocking the full extent of her abilities. It's like she's content just being herself, without needing to dive deep into what she could become. <<less

absolutely great for those who don't want a super sweet MC, but something more gritty that still has fluffy slice of life.

great for those who are a fan of the SCP foundation, very similar structure but from the SCP's point of view as well as the foundation's perspective.

Very fun read. It's enjoyable to see the different perspectives and misunderstandings between the characters and MC. Good plot and clean translation

Really engaging story that is straight from SCP universe.

The main good points of the novel are that it avoids falling into many common grating tropes and the tropes it employs are well executed. Character progression is really nice, you can see MC engaging with the world, influencing it and being influenced in return, letting them develop organically.

The pace is also done well, written around arcs than span on average 3-6 chapters, keeping the pacing always fresh but allowing for some nice moments of respite between arcs. Minor gripe is that... more>> the whole novel starts kinda slow and because at that point it doesn't differ much from other novels of this type some readers will probably drop it at that point. I heavily recommend giving first 20 chapters a proper try and then deciding whether to keep reading or not.

Another shining point is the universe, which is not surprising seeing as it borrows heavily from SCP foundation, but in contrast of SCP wiki content this being story format gives interesting view of how it would actually be to live in that universe. MC point gives perspective of someone completely new to the hidden world but at the same they are the most impacted by it, which is good window in the world for the reader. The secondary protagonist, the female scientist, give perspective of someone who is well acquainted with the world, which will be appreciated by people more familiar with SCP tropes.

Overall, good novel that definitely deserves more attention. <<less

The story starts off with a bit of uncertainty about how the plot will progress, but after a while, with the world-building and plot reveals, it got me hooked. Not just how the main character acts toward being turned into a slime, but the plot itself is also interesting.

Give it a try for a slimey fluff

Fun.

MC is a bit of an oddball, sometimes doing s*upid stuff, but overall not bad.

Plot is fine not totally hooked, though it's interesting enough.

Translation is very good.

There's a lot of fluff involved. Although it might have been a bit dark at the start due to the hidden undercurrents of the world's background, it became fluffy when the MC got caught by the doctor, especially since the doctor is very attached to the MC's cuteness~

The world background is similar to SCP stories with organizations in the background isolating anomalies to the rest of the world, while the MC got merged with an anomaly and became a new anomaly in the organization records. The story started with how... more>> the MC's a bit wary of other humans who caught her, to her attachment to the doctor, and then the facility members' growing trust towards the MC as they feed her snacks and treats.

Of course
Spoiler

the MC is not allowed to eat other things due to an incident involving a horned wolf stirring the MC's 'precious thing'. No inuendo intended. I think it's literally the MC's 'precious thing' that keeps the MC alive even if her slime head gets decapitated. The 'precious thing' must be the cores of slimes in other stories, the real body. If that gets destroyed, I bet the MC would die a second time with no comebacks. The MC can also gain an ability from other anomalies she digested, so she's only allowed treats and snacks. Well, the MC still managed to digest other anomalies with the wooden idol event and the kidnapping and statue.

[collapse]

This story made me feel the nostalgia of cherishing every word of the story. I even had a hint of hesitation towards reading newly updated chapters, with the intention of stockpiling them and reading them all in one go, but I can't help but read. The novel is a fun read, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the chapters~

Good work, dear translators! Cheering for you behind the screen! <<less

I really like how this novel is developing. It kinda has an SCP like feel, you get whiplash of cute slime girl antics and ... more>>

eldrich infinite meat fountain, dissolving the insides/organs of various other anomalies, and body horror that comes with imagining what would have happened to a non-slime.

anyways, as it stands right now, it's a great read. If your hesitant, read the first 20 chapters, they give a good feel on how the story beats will progress. At least until chap 137 where I'm at.

Update: Okay, so the characterization of han seori is slowly getting worse and worse. At first she was excessively kind, pragmatic, and willing to go to the ends of the earth for the jelly girl. Now in recent chapters she's cutting jelly girl in half to try and prove utility to the other researchers. Letting random people stick their hands inside jelly girl and stuff. People asking to take one of the other slimes. When the slime girl is obviously exhausted and unhappy, they ignore her and go out for food, giving the slime girl scraps. And her reaction was to pat herself on her back and call herself their "guardian". If you're the slime girls guardian, cps needs to be called.

I'm lowering my review to a 2 for how frustrating her lack of self awareness is becoming. <<less

A bland read. The premise is cute--guy turned slime girl has to adapt--but the plot is paper-thin and the pacing is abysmal. 40 chapters in and our slime has been stuck as a zoo monkey in the not-SCP lab the entire time being observed. Unfortunately what I thought would be the misadventures of a slime just became a boring observation diary. Our MC doesn't have any goals or motivations, either, and is content to sit in the padded room being fed hamburgers all day.

Translation: The TL seems decent, but it's... more>> really stiff and dry, as if it's being translated line by line. Whether this is MTL or not, Norne really needs a proofreader/editor. <<less

The story is pretty wholesome, with an SCP-ish setting. The MC was an somewhat ordinary office worker before he got involved in an accident with anomalies (this world's SCP) and got transformed into a slime girl. With becoming a slime girl, her mental age and intelligence drops to that of a child as well. She also became a lot more carefree since she doesn't have to worry about time. She also gets taken advantage of a lot, which I find quite frustrating.

The setting of the story is very SCP-ish. In... more>> fact, you can just say it's an SCP reskinned world. A lot of the setting can be found in the SCP world as well. I think the main flaws of this novel are its plot and lack of character development. The most interesting plot and character development all takes place in the first 50 or so chapters, after that, it became pretty boring. The plot is very repetitive, most of the events happen suddenly without build-ups or foreshadowing. Everytime an event happens, they don't really do anything at all. The MC just solves the problem, gets a new power, and move on. Sure, she might get new abilities, but what about rewards from the people she helped? By solving potentially world-destroying problems, all she gets are good food and complementary gratitude from the people at the facility she's contained at that started to feel less and less rewarding as time goes on. The consequences for the events aren't described in detail, the only reason we know there are even consequences for the events is because of simple lines like "xxx looks more tired than usual, is it because of the xxx event that happened recently?" I hope that there are more descriptions for the consequences since there are stuffs that happen in the story that definitely should have widespread consequences, but we didn't get to see that.

The character development is almost nonexistent in the later chapters. After the beginning chapters where the MC and Han Seori grow close together, the MC no longer grows as a character. The side characters aren't interesting except for Han Seori, but even she gets boring after a while with no character development. And for some reason, despite the MC always helping Han Seori in troublesome situations, she kepts getting surprised because the MC is a friendly "anomaly, " which I find to be quite repetitive.

The wholesome is the best part of this novel, but even that gets repetitive after a while because the author kept writing the same scenes over and over again.

Overall, I think it's a cool concept, but there seems to be a lot of things the author could have done that will make the story so much better. It's a decent read, but just not for me I suppose. <<less
