Frankly the obsessive lunatic cousin is the most interesting person in the story.

The MC is shy, passive, selfless and sweet. He barely speaks, agrees to everything his husband says. He barely has a personality. A doll would at least be difficult to dress. Once in a while he'll ask a pertinent question but is satisfied with vague answers. Theoretically he's smart cause the author says so, but he comes across as a baby bunny sitting on the ground chewing a flower. He just sits in the house unless the ML... more>> decides to take him out for a walk.

The ML is just as colorless. He's not a 'nice person' because he owns gambling dens and two brothels (not even going to address that) But other than being stern to servants and one dash and dine, all he does is dote on the MC and scowl at the crazy cousin.

I read a similar Ancient China story to this where a well off man married a much poorer one, but that one had things like... dialog. Concerns on both sides. Both the MC and ML wanting to take care of each other and be equals. Also a plot bigger than a wedding, learning to write and a crazy cousin. And that story was only 20 chapters so it has nothing to do with length.

It's not an offensive story, just lacking in everything. It's soulless. I like fluff but there has to be more than a feather or two to the story. <<less

A love story with a plot twist! (ˊᵕˋ) °♡. I do have a special fondness for this novel!!! The ML and MC is so sweet! I love how respectful and patient our ML towards our MC, also he doesn't push the MC to consummate their marriage on the day of the wedding. The MC's so sweet and naive but he's also smart.

Special shoutout to my girl Bai Ping and teacher Wang! I love that she's a badass and the teacher is very nice. Not an ounce of sympathy for Qin... more>> MeiWan, she's evil to the core! Poor bunny! (´•̥̥̥ω•̥̥̥`) She deserves that kind of ending, what goes around comes around!

I'll give this a 4.5/5! Sweet, short, fluffy, heartwarming, a little bit of smut and it's not everday that you come across with a love story with a plot twist! So go for it! <<less

Meh... too much dogblood drama cramped in a short novel.

The characters are rather s*upid. Communication is only done if hiding failed. I do not see the fluff.

The writer set MC as a Gary Stu and ML as an "underworlboss"... which would be the most pathetic one and most likely overthrown in minutes if real. Allegedly everyone is in fear of him but through the whole story people dance on his nose without repercussions and even the childish, soft and white MC has more violence done in the end.

Didn't really... more>> entertain me but isn't too bad either. Wouldn't recommend it but might hit other people's buttons. <<less

Short and cute even if some lack of logic concerning ML, supposed to be a powerful figure in the city, but had no guards at home, only servants, to secure protection... honestly, I know that the subject is about fluff etc but details are important

ML's sudden affections being from some love poison/drug that made him fall for the first person he met which was MC after he escaped to the forest where MC was cleaning his mother's gravestone. This resulted in MC leaving that night as ML was given an antidote by the one who did it, Cousin Qin. ML had some memories and decided that since he married MC, he should still be responsible regardless. I feel that ML slowly merge with the remaining affections or truly fell for MC as he soon went back to being his doting way after almost losing MC due to Cousin Qin's scheme.

Came for the smut, stayed for the poignant sweetness of the novel. Smut was so-so anyway haha.

Surprised at how much nicely wrapped up plot they managed to fit into such a short story. Not overly complex but nicely built up and well-paced.

Nice enough reasoning as to why ML fell for MC that was acceptable and helped build the story.

Pretty good and satisfying considering the length of the novel.

There's not much smut in the story as I expected. If I am to describe the whole story, it's full of sugar and nothing notable is really happening (other than being romantic and fluff and usual stuff) ... more>>

so the author suddenly threw in a vicious female in. That arc lessened my like for the novel, should have kept the monotonous romance but oh well. That part exposed the brainlessness of the characters. Sorry but as I am a huge dog blood lover, this doesn't even make the passing grade. It's just a badly planned drama, can't even call it dog blood. I would definitely rate this 4s if that part was not included. MC is quite okay. I gotta blame the author for that bad subplot she tried to squish in despite the shortage of chapters.

Anyways, so-so story. Could have been good if it just kept itself into a sweet slice of life romance. Translator's did a good job still. Good thing about this story is it promised pampering and it delivered. If you are a fluff-stories fan, you will love this. But if you are after plot quality then reference my review above. <<less

This is a really sweet story! I like how it flowed smoothly and there wasn’t any unnecessary conflict between the MC and ML. They genuinely care for each other and it shows in their actions.

This is the novel for those looking for your snack novel quota. Drama free novel, fluff with easy plot. The characters are quite shallow considering the length but I think it's just enough. Lovely story perfect for afternoon break.

Rating this gem 5/5 is a downgrade. This novel should be rated 10/5! It's fluffy, but not only between husband and husband. There are also the other type of fluffy relationships. It's healthy, warm, and satisfying story. Really want to thank the author-sama and translator-sama for the good job!

I loved the whole story. It was neither rushed nor dragged; perfectly and neatly paced. The plot was also very peaceful; every chapter was neatly written with profuse warmth. The characters were very gentle and beautifully devised! I loved how Tang Qiaoyuan was such a gentle and harmonious seme/ML and Fang Su was a precious little adorable rabbit who never refused (or even pretended to) TQY's affection. The cutest thing that is first for me is TQY's never-ending, sweet kisses showering on FS - which was really wholesome. I hope... more>> we see more ML/seme like Tang QiaoYuan.

The translator definitely did their best in translating this work. With a wonderful and smoothly placed translation, in synch with the novel's charm, the entire read was 100% worth my time. This is the type of novel where you wouldn't regret reading it nor would it disappoint your expectations.

Anyway, this story is very gentle and too much sweet (diabetes lol) and a unique plot which makes it a wonderful stand-alone novel. A truly must read! <<less

Tbh I don't really find the story that interesting but it was nice relaxing read. Perfect to calm yourself after reading / watching heart wrenching stuff.

    • ML gives rewards and punishment fairly which is respectable.
    • MC and the brush scene was so cute
    • I love Bai Ping and teacher Wang
    • They're so sweet wtf I might get diabetes urghjsbsjsuwh so cutee
    • "Even if it wasn't love at first sight, why can it not be love developed over time Fang Su, stay by my side."

Both more sinister and mundane than I expected.

Lots of wife spoiling and the reason why the gong was so reluctant to be in a relationship and what finally changed his mind are actually explained. But of a surprise for me, I didn't see that coming.

I came back to reread this and it's as cute and simple as I remember.

The story is a sweet love story. It had a clear beginning and end with a climax. The extras were also sweet. I'm a fan. Although short, I don't want more so it's good.
