This is a 3.5/5. I gave it a 5 since there are one too many trolls giving it a 1 or 2, which the novel doesn't deserve.

As far as chap 52 the novel is about a naughty Fatty that plays a VRMMO and solo boss monsters in interesting ways. Traps mostly, but interesting still.

The novel is not good in character development. Everyone is an a**hole, the MC included, and specially the first female lead, Liu Lan: she's just a bully and unliakable b*tch. Character interactions are just disputes for bosses... more>> between guilds or ways to level up and get loot.

Also there's a little to much grind and not enough story. Fatty is playing just for money, and so far there's just no reason / drama / suspense aside from whether he'll die and lose a level and the boss (that'll just respawn later).

Nevertheless it's still a good novel to waste time so far, not worth of the several poor ratings, specially in a website like NU with so many shitty copy&paste xianxias with high ratings.

Finally, good work by the translators with several releases and good translation. Chapters are not short and without too many useless expositions. <<less

When reading description of this novel I thought that MC would be someone smart, cunning, shameless, fixated on earning money. Author is trying to make character look smart but in my opinion it is just not working. Somehow the whole world is doing everything it can to help MC for no reason at all.

Imagine negotiating with "intelligent" NPCs.

Here it looks like this:

... more>> MC-"Hey man, the reward you want to give is too low. Give me 10 times more gold and also teach me alchemy"

At least try to make it believable, first we have description how NPCs are so smart and lifelike and next moment they proceed to give freebies to MC for no reason at all, he gets everything he asks for.

Another strange thing- why bother with whole "LEVEL" concept if it turns out meaningless? Author clearly never played any mmorpg, propably any game at all... There are stats, levels and each level difference is supposed to make it harder to kill enemy and yet MC easily smashes enemies with triple of his level. Cmon, difference in stats between them would make him hit it for 1 dmg and enemy would have like 10 000hp... If levels and stats are meaningless then why introduce them at all? Just say that all this vrmmorpg takes into account is skill of players and nothing else matter. <<less

Typical novel of its genre. You have clearly seen everything from it on another novels. But still enjoyable and refreshing from time to time. But the character development is underwhelming, world building is shit, side characters are one sided. Frustrating thing is the short chapters also and the rush storyline. Basically most are skimmable especially the fights as it's not that creatively written.

Overall, this is a novel you read when you have nothing on your reading list as all of the recent chapaters have already been read by you.

Translation is... more>> the best, it's just that the novel that is subpar. <<less

This novel whiles not unreadable is not particularly good either you will find yourself questioning how much time has gone by and what is the MCs level. Even though they give you a chart of the stats the MC has you wont know how it is actually calculated or if anything on there even matters. The whole scene goes from 2 people to kill the same lvl mobs to hordes of people lvl 10 going to 15+ territory and using swarm tactics. I would not be bothered by that fact... more>> if not for the distinct mention that its hard even to fight mobs your own lvl. The novel at least till ch 26 is wish washy and there is not even a semi important goal in this novel as far as I read. <<less

I'll keep my review short and to the point.

It's s*upid. It's silly. And it's funny as f***. So go read it. And laugh your a** off. Especially if you've ever played any MMORPGs.

Enjoy :D

If you want a novel that had a good game system then dont read this. The game in this novel have tr*sh system. For example, hidden classes was so powerful that it could instakill a monster 15+ level than him/her. They also had f*cking op cc. In fact you could say that they could face a hundred+ army the same level as them. That was how op here. You can imagine that the author do not play rpg games because of his noob system haha.

Second is the MC was inconsistent.... more>> For example, he was shameless but when he was with Purple Bell, he's so selfless to the point that he's f*cking give all the goods to her even though they only met in a short time. You could say that its because he sees his sister from her. But what about his shamelessness? In fact, if you read this novel, you could say that you read this novel because of his shamelessness, not the game or story itself, why? Because if you considered it clearly then you could say thay this novel was only so-so, it was too shallow. It only focused on the adventure of the MC, in fact in 100+ chapter, there were no information about the MC except that his sister is Pink Beauty and about his previous job. There were also no info about the other characters. And in chapter 164, its thrilling when the MC was against a large guild alone, but the heck you just add the OP Purple Bell with him. You just ruined the MC's cool moment. F*ck you author. Its the first time that the MC has a cool moment but you ruined it, why? Its because the MC was like hiding behind a op body guard.F*ck you very much author. F*ck you, I really want to slap your face hoooo. <<less

"B-Movie" of chinese novels.

Ever watched a film that was objectively measured just bad in pretty much any metric and still enjoyed it because you had no expectations? This novel falls for me basically in the chinese webnovel equivalent of B movie classics and B movie connoisseurship.

Nothing is special about this novel. The MC beside being fat is nothing special and partly reminds of Weed in LMS, albeit without most of Weeds redeeming character features. The idea of a virtual reality game is nothing new. The game (setting and mechanics) itself... more>> is incredibly basic. The ingame 'political landscape' is exactly what you'd expect form a Chinese novel. The MCs 'adventures' are creativity wise worse than Zhan Long - farm Monster, find Boss or Quest, kill Boss/do Quest.

But somehow nothing of that standing out highlights all the characters constantly bullshitting around (instead of distracting from it). Which I for some reason (which I can't really point out) feel is enjoyable and entertaining. Just like some bad movie that for some reason was actually entertaining.

Most likely I purely objectively would never rate this novel at 3 stars (more like 2 at best) but me still enjoying it makes me rate it higher.

Remark: I personally don't think any chinese novel I have read - even Way of Choices which I really love - deserves 5 stars. So 3 stars is quite decent. <<less

Started out pretty well, but unfortunately the writer made himself venture into territory where he totally shat his pants around chapter 35. After that, it's absolutely not worth reading.

If you, as a writer, simply cannot write even half a page of even xianxia-level decent romantic subplot, or even simple, normal, everyday interaction between characters of different gender, *please* just stay away from it.

As is, this novel cannot be recommended to anyone who has ever had an adult conversation with anyone.

Often reading this felt like a waste of time. Finding and beating bosses in creative and interesting ways seems to be the focus of the story but there isn't much else going on. The MC being unfamiliar with videogames and being fat seemed like they might lead to something more original but both of them seem to mostly be irrelevant. If you haven't read many other VRMMORPG novels this is probably as enjoyable as most of them but other than that you probably don't need to be afraid of anything... more>> too dramatic happening I don't see why'd you pick this over other similar novels. <<less

SMTM is a very basic story: be shameless and get all the things!

But as fun and entertaining as it is, there isn't much else besides this humor aspect to it. The relationships vague or non-existent, the fights are uneventful, the quests boring. The characters are flat and one-dimensional and serve no purpose other than to be the MC's enemy or friend. The MC is suppose to be badass in real life but we're given no indication or foreshadowing of how or why, with barely any time given to real life.

While... more>> it's still early in it's writing, just enjoy it for it's humor and don't expect it to have anything else redeeming so far. <<less

This novel doesn’t deserve all the crappy reviews since there’s lots of other ones out there that are a lot worst with higher ones. It’s a fun read that isn’t supposed to be taken seriously. The MC isn’t your typical beauty/handsome person that people instantly fall in love with and try to help you however they can. He’s a run of the mill ex gangster that wants to make as much money as possible without being too much of an a**hole. Every player is scrambling to be the first to... more>> accomplish things in the new gaming system, like kill a big boss or form a guild, because the system gives you better and more items. Not to mention the prestige of being the 1st to do so. So far I think it’s a good novel with lots of humor and like the fact that there’s really no romance to muddle things up. You don’t always need romance, tragic pasts, super strong characters, or revenge plots to make a good read. <<less

Follow lord Fatty on his journey of self-discovery

"Hey, you actually dare to resist me? Be a good girl and let Lord Fatty r*pe you, ” Fatty did not dodge, and merely punched the hen on the head.

Welp. A man of culture who knows exactly what he wants in life.

Another fast-paced VRMMO where a protagonist new to games gets incomprehensibly lucky by creating unfathomable skills that no other could possibly think up in this world and face slaps typical Mt. Tai overlords in between godly boss-soloes that even balanced veteran teams can't do without wiping a few times almost effortlessly.

Not a lot of character development but it's a fun read if you look at it as a slice-of-life as JRPG where the chosen warriors are blessed by the plot armor. <<less

I want to give this one star but I'm holding back because I don't want to misjudge due to not reading enough chapters. None of the characters have any depth at all. The MC is a lecher who wants more money all the time and also has a mysterious background IRL which hasn't been explored much yet. The side characters are all either shallow beautiful girls or ugly/scrawny perverts. You can already tell who's going to be on whose side just from seeing the reactions from their appearance. If they're... more>> ugly they're on the MCs team. I don't usually care about how the MC looks that much but in this one the character matches, he is not a nice guy. He can be entertaining at times but slapstick gets tiring when it's done over and over. <<less

I agree with a lot of the reviewers that this novel is not crappy. It is funny and silly and I missed a few hours of sleep per day to complete this book. The translators did a brilliant job to retain the humour. This is not a romance and there is no character development, but the pace of the book is pretty good and Fatty does have some excellent adventures. Definitely a re-read. If there is a second chapter on Fatty I will definitely read it even if it takes... more>> years for the translation to complete! <<less

It's all about the story of a young fatty who despite his personality being quite rude.... Succesfully stole the hearts/grudges of many NPC's.
Unlike other players, I think the MC has more relationship with the NPC, although it was never specified blatantly.
The MC gains a unique class obviously overpowered, but it showcases its growth and development.
In summary, MC gains benefits, steals stuff, steals hearts of many, and underestimated by a lot of people for some freaking reason.

One chapter is submitted once a day, so consistency with memory and... more>> with the story will always be present. <<less

Pretty funny and entertaining until the MC has a major personality shift in the late 30s chapters. All the sudden he gives away free stuff and geophysical abuse from his old boss. I think it is suppose to be romance, but who likes to be beat and taken advantage of as foreplay? A masochist. The sudden shift to bit*h ruins this story.
