So far, it's an extremely ordinary adventurer story. No OP protagonist, no world-in-danger plot that derails the premise, no sudden growth spurt.

It scratches the itch of wondering why all those protagonists have to cheat their way through being an adventurer when a normal life as an adventurer might be interesting enough. Well, it's even a bit more ordinary than "ordinary" adventurers in those other stories.

The diary based writing style doesn't make it any more engaging either, but it's not too bad. Not having dialogues due to that is somewhat unfortunate,... more>> but on the other hand "normal" dialogues wouldn't necessarily be extremely interesting either. And personally I'm glad that it can't possibly devolve into "explaining-the-battle-through-dialogue-because-apparently-there's-enough-time-to-have-a-leisurely-conversation" which is a problem in many Japanese fantasy novels.

The novel can't be called exceptional, but it's decent at what it's supposed to do. I honestly hope that it will continue developing slowly at this pace without turning into a heroic story at some point.

If you're looking for something exciting, I can't recommend this novel. However I think it's a good read for people who have grown tired of these repetitive narratives and want to take a deeper look at something that is normally just part of the background. <<less

This fills a spot that long demanded filling for me.

Like the Majority of current LN it does what it says on the tin.

No OP or reincarnated MC, No Grand Destiny to fulfill.

... more>> MC is a native and the narration manages at average LN competency to convey that with a relatively uncommon format.

The progression is neither slow or fast even if it tends more to the latter.

The MC's sole advantage is being cute and determined.

Read if you want the Generic JRPG Adventurer experience if there was no story Questline and you were a real mob.

!Warning! May change later down the line. <<less

As mentioned in the description this novel told from the POV of the main character's daily diary entries. This is a fun twist on the normal format of these types of stories.

The main character runs away from home taking a small amount of money and equipment to become an adventurer. You see the main character adjusting to life and trying to overcome hardships along the way which makes this seem more realistic.

I think I will enjoy the novel for awhile, but I have a few concerns. The first being that... more>> there is 365 chapters and the second being it is on hiatus. The reason the number of chapters concerns me is hopefully the writer can keep the story feeling interesting based on the format. Also being on hiatus usually means that more chapters will not come. This is always a sad feeling when a story doesn't get to wrap up properly.

Through 34 Chapters I am giving this a 5 stars. The 5 stars is based on if you enjoy novels that can be less action oriented and more slice of life. There isn't much I feel I can knock on the story so far to warrant 4 stars but we will see how the story progresses. <<less

A very interesting story about a novice adventurer slowly gathering friends and having all kinds of interesting adventures.

There is no OP character walking all over the mobs, no unreasonable troubles, only a fun and a not-too-remarkable but still very special adventure.

Diary of a novice Adventurer.

In spite of the title, the protagonist feels a lot more sensible and resourceful than your average protagonist who relies on luck or being overpowered. She takes the job seriously and often fails, but does not give up. The chapters are very short, but never waste the reader's time with repetitive writing, and the story is always moving forward. The diary format works really well, as it shows the protagonist's personality, and I'm excited to see where she lands at the end of her first year.
