Jian Shiwu was reborn. In the previous life, relying on his family background, he forced the male protagonist Shen Cheng to get engaged to him.

Only after his death did he realize that Shen Cheng was terrifying.

The man’s power was overwhelming, and he retaliates against everyone by means of brutality, and single-handedly built a business empire.

This taciturn man in everyone’s eyes has never been a soft persimmon, but a dormantly waiting wolf.

After the rebirth, Jian Shiwu decided to stay away from Shen Cheng to keep his peace

At the beginning:

Parents: “I heard that you like Shen Cheng, do you want to get engaged to him?”

Jian Shiwu: “I’m afraid you want me to die!”

Friends: “I heard you still like Shen Cheng?”

Jian Shiwu was shocked: “It’s fake, don’t believe in rumors, don’t spread rumors!!”

The extras ruined the story for me, I wasn't reading this knowing it was ambiguous so I was blindsided and found it all extremely sad.

Yes, there were some points I thought were dragged too much, but then the ending was at least satisfactory. And then, I read the extras....

It starts off as a pretty good of a story but the ending will throw everyone for a loop.

The MC is set up to be a kind and gentle boy like a sun. He will hide all his pain and only put out a smile for everyone to see.

While the ML is cold and indifferent on the outside and caring on the inside. Often, he will do little things in the background and be mistaken for as the bad guy. And throughout the story, you just want to chuck a... more>> dating guide book at his head.

The ending to this story was pretty abrupt but after reading the extras. It is quite the plot twist that no one will be expecting and gives a reason as to why it end in this way. Along with all the inconsistencies in the MC's personality sometimes when around the ML. Or how everything seemed to always work out and there were never any misunderstandings. And how the ML would always properly communicate with the MC after each argument. It may seem like it leaves loose ends but it actually ties up everything quite nicely.

Spoiler

Warning that this is just my theory/opinion with very heavy spoilers (I don't recommend reading this until after finishing the story) :

The plot starts off as the MC's second chance. But in reality, the MC has long been dead. In the extra, it talks about things in the ML's perspective of life. And how he couldn't understand why his marriage with the MC was so bad. It was because he could never clearly expressed his love in words for the MC to understand causing both of them to feel insecure in their relationship and have misunderstandings.

After the MC's death, the ML developed a device that basically is the MC's 'second chance'. At the end of the extra, it shows when turning on the device where the MC first starts the story. The user takes on the perspective and character of the ML and this also explains why the MC kept calling the ML, the protagonist, throughout the story. Despite, this story not originally being set up as a person reincarnated into a novel.

It also explains why the MC is always unrealistically kind and gentle in every circumstance. It was cause the ML programmed the MC's personality based on what he observed of the MC as they grew up together. However, the MC only acted differently from his 'personality' when the ML is around because this is what the ML wished happened. He wanted the MC to cry, get angry, complain, and express himself to the ML rather than hiding all of his pain.

Based on my understanding of the ending, this made up virtual world that is the story, we are reading, is the ML's love letter to the MC. At the end, the ML says he would write out them getting married, their old age, and such. He wrote out a world where both of them were happy with friends and family. A love letter where they both got to experience the joy of love.

I feel like the correct title for this story would be "My Love Letter to You" or something like that. Just to end the story a bit more sweet after the extras.

[collapse]

Overall, it was a true hidden gem where the extras were the key to it all.
It is both a very sad story but also sweet. The family and friend relationships were well written. Each character felt like they had a personality with a background story that gave reason to some of their choices in their actions within the story. Also the interactions between the MC and ML were both fun and cute. Especially, how the MC is easily teased by food. <<less

So I rated this 4 stars to bump up the rating since the novel isn't that bad but my actual rating is a 3.7

So the novel starts off with the MC waking up to find that he is back to his junior high days. When he died he learns that he was in a novel and his ex husband is the protagonist and he is just some canon fodder. The MC makes it his goal this time to stay away from the ML since in the last life he forced... more>> ML into a marriage and believes that ML is the reason for his parent's death. This plan immediately fails because the MC would get severe headaches if he doesn't help the ML (who is a poor bullied child troupe) and interact with him.

Now here is where I'll get into the pros and cons of this novel.

Pros

    • The first half of the novel is super cute. This is where the MC and ML are the main focus and we watch them go through their junior high/high school days together. The MC learns a lot more about the ML since he missed a lot of things in the first life.
    • The friends are also wholesome because they are very supportive of MC and ML.
    • The biggest thing for me though is the MC's parents especially MC's mother. She is literally gold. Like a lot of Novels just talk about how loving the MC's parents are but like she actually shows she loves him. She helps him through difficult times, actually listens to him, and is always supporting him. Not only that she even takes really good care of MC's friends like they are her own kids. She literally is a gem.
Cons

    • So, I honestly was going to rate this between 4 to 5 stars but once they get into the second half (when MC and ML are older) the story takes a sharp decline. For me, it felt like the author wanted to drag out the novel so she focused on MC's career (which is being an entertainer) and it got boring. The whole story took a shift to an entertainment novel which for me personally I don't like much.
    • The MC's headaches go away inexplicably and they are never mentioned again. There was no explanation for it so I can only presume it was a plot device to bring MC and ML together.
    • MC is very wishy washy about getting together with the ML. It was fine in the first half since they were kids and they were growing together but it gets annoying when they become adults. I feel that the MC never really resolves the actual point of his problem even after he gets together with ML.
    • Like another reviewer said, there was absolutely no point in the whole MC discovering he is in a novel. It added nothing to the plot except for the fact that MC can use it as an excuse not to be with ML because he is just a cannon fodder. But yeah that just felt weirdly added in and never really used.
Overall, I definitely think it's worth reading but probably just the first half and then I'd skip to the end (unless you like entertainment type novels then second half is definitely for you). There is one thing that greatly bothered me and also prompted me to write this review....

Spoiler

So, I read the extras and omg it ruined the novel for me personally. I'm not going to go into details but if you do read the novel don't read the extras. It really felt that the author wanted to throw a huge plot twist but it just left the reader with more questions than answers. Though, if someone does end up reading the extras please explain the ending cause I've spent so long trying to figure it out and if it actually meant the way I think it does that is so dark and so depressing.

A good novel. Would give it a 3.5/5.

There was definitely a good but sad twist at the end which makes my dissatisfaction for all the loop-holes in the novel disappear.

For all the people who didn't understand the extras should click spoilers below!

This story is tradgey guys, a tradgey! The extras explain it all.

So basically what we r seeing is a very high-tech simulation game kind of thing that the ML develops in order to fulfill his regrets with the MC. Of course the simulation is run from the perspective of Shen Cheng but what we really read in the novel is perspective of Jian Shiwu who is our MC. What I understood from the extras is that our MC is nothing more than computer data made on the impression that ML has of MC. The MC may seem like too kind, too good kind of guy, it's because ML built him that way.

Also for all those wondering why the whole novel and cannon-fodder thing was added to it. Well to them I can only say it must be something to do with ML's feelings or just something the author wanted to throw in for some more tags. Of course I'm more than happy to throw in my some of my black-hole knowledge: the ML didn't wanted a complete restart, he wanted the MC to remember all the wrongs both of them commited, so that they can work their way around all their faults (which btw did not happen, I mean the ML didn't fix his problem of expressing himself properly) and then get a happy ending, which the ML was able to achieve.

I seriously was considering drooping the novel with how slow-paced and sometimes illogical it was (with the 4years and all the wierd time skips) but glad stuck till the extras which more or less ties up all the loose ends.

3.2 ish.

Second chance, rebirth, reliving our youth together and walking to a better future.

Strong beginning but weak middle and ending.

At first, you get to see MC better understand ML in his youth and that butterfly effects into a better future for both of them. ML is typical (treated cruelly by the world and thinks himself of dirty but also very defensive) type while MC is a chubby kid who has a crush on him. Pretty basic healing type arc supported with good characterisation and side character ensemble. Strongest emotionally and... more>> story wise.

MC is silly and pure and nice. Very much the light in the dark type but pretty emotionally astute with everything but love (as always) . Shout-out to his mom for being a great adult figure.

Romance wise. I couldn't get into it. Never felt they really reached the crux of their emotional problems (MC and his percieved failed marriage of life 1, ML never really communicating about his 4 year gap or letting MC know his troubles). They're better than life 1 and functional but it still felt a bit lacking. Much cuter as kids.

Felt like author forgot about some threads or just wanted to wrap it up quicker. Ending doesn't feel super resolved/fulfilling (personally), the novel thing is like mentioned only when convenient to cause trouble in their relationship and no actual explanation or follow ups. Extras are pretty depressing and do not tie up anything but do provide a good insight into ML and their emotional distance in the first life.

Literally do not understand the whole canon fodder/novel premise. Its just there to add to MC's inferiority complex with ML.

Quick read but rings hollow at the end. <<less

There were some forgotten plot points that I wish were continued, like the discussion about the past life. I gave four stars though because the MC was pretty cute. I registered an account just to comment on this last part, DO NOT READ THE EXTRAS IF YOU WANT A HE. The author said the extras aren't related to the main story but it invades your mind and gives the whole story a bitter taste anyway.

Tragedy in the disguise of light-heartedness and soft ambiguity.

If we were to see from my point of view, the MC and ML were highly incompatible. One, straight forward, insecure and other, repressed and unable to give security. Their incompatibilities outweighed their compatibility and the result was an awfully unbalanced and sad marriage.

They both loved eachother but, the other party couldn't express anything with lead to MC having no sense of security in their relationship (and the ML had already liked him) and more unpleasantries.

Perhaps, it it really were to be a 'rebirth' danmei, the MC would've avoided any entanglement with the ML.

I can really see MC having a good life without being entangled with the ML, who thought their relationship, devoid of communication was a normal thing.

The novel was nothing more than a virtual simulation made by ML as a coping mechanism to deal with MC's death.

The almost perfect MC who was as kind and beautiful as an angel, self omnipotence, everything was, but a simulation.

ML was still unreasonable in simulation too, lol. (In school too, he was like a perfect president who was ridiculously op).

2/5: two stars for the extras which made me happy.

I think people are giving the extras way more credit in relation to the main story than it deserves.

Because,

Spoiler

If the whole thing was a simulation, the MC’s memories and internal struggles wouldn’t make sense and there would be even more plot holes than it already had.

I think it’s more likely that the main novel is what it is, and the extras show another timeline or “what if” altogether

The moment Americans, oh sorry, Country M's characters get involved, everything goes downhill. It would still be alright if the author glazed over it due to their lack of knowledge, but their attempts to cover up that lack of knowledge by being overly conscious of the country of origin for these foreigners within the story pulls a lot of attention to their stereotypes of westerners. This occurs in every scene involving the Country M characters and also make these characters incredibly generalized and shallow. (And obviously these Country M characteristics... more>> are not portrayed in a positive way either -- more in a side to side comparison to prove Hua Xia's superiority or as an entirely needless explanation for the foreign characters' actions.) As someone who has had long term life experience in both countries involved, it's grating to read.

Aside from that, the ML is a school version of an overbearing CEO character I suppose. He can do everything he tries perfectly, and the story contrives ways to show off this capability of his.

The misunderstandings are ham-fisted for plot reasons (and go on for a very, very long time) but at the very least, makes for good angst material. <<less

This is really good novel. And the plot itself is rather a little rare than many other novel. First; it's because MC is not a Transmigrator or anything, so his Fear toward ML was really was Understandable and why it so Deep to the Bone. He had lived with him and interact with him. He know him personally and all. Seriously, when you read the novel you will understand all the Emotional Conflict MC feel toward ML.

While this Novel is well written so far, it does has flaw. But like... more>> any other novel, while have flaws, it still have the goods.

I put the Con first because the Pros are Good and I love it!

Spoiler

Con:

The certain Big revelation of ML's origin is actually done in front of their Classmates and parents!!! And it wasn't so Accidentally either. MC's mother doesn't have problem saying all that in public! Sure she's angry for her dead friend's child sake, but that scene sooooo NOT Realistic.

I can't think of any other con though. But the pros...

Pros:

    • The one who almost become Villain was get their Karma/Retribution but not by something that was planned by MC and ML. Truly Karma. And they did end up realise their wrong doing and finally know when to stop.
    • Oh but it DOES HAVE Faceslapping where ML scare people.
    • The Family feels of MC's. And his parents, especially the mother, are so good to ML!
    • The Family feels of ML! ML and his father are Awkward with each other but they do care about each other and they knows it!!!
[collapse]

In this novel you CANT say MC is a Dense Character who didn't realise ML's feelings toward him. Because he's NOT Dense. MC know people who tried to make trouble or bully him. MC also has quite great Mental Strength. But it was different when he face ML. Because the previous life, it's easy to tell that he's NOT Oblivious or in Denial, but because he just doesn't think the Possibility of ML have Romantic feeling toward him when he was So Cold toward him in the Previous life and he think ML was the one who caused all the Horrible Experience in the past as a Pay Back.
Spoiler

but MAYBE MC misunderstood? When you get on further chapters, it seems implied that things in the past might not be ML's doing, but ML may or may not be framed. Of course so far it was just a Theory. I prays so hard it was the truth though.

[collapse]

Anyway this novel sure is Intense but also has Great Fluff and many Heartwarming moments. I really Love it so far. Pray the rest of the story has Satisfactory conclusion and ending!

Completed at 23 February 2022:

It DOES Have Conclusion. Or at least we get the Extras that reveal ML's POV in his Previous Life. And it's not like MC didn't get few hints in the second life. But...

Spoiler

Does MC really know that ML had nothing to do with his Parents' tragedy in the previous life? Finally move on doesn't mean he guess that, right???

The author literally could have mention if MC know or guess about that in just one paragraph, but they didn't?!

Just because it was a relief for readers knowing ML is not Evil in the past life doesn't mean we happy with the lack of Revelation!!!

[collapse]

The novel has lots of Good things, but it wasn't satisfying enough. I want to give less stars, but it also doesn't feel right... #dilemma

I'll give it a 4 stars, only because of the extras.

Though if we consider the extras, I think this should be a tragedy.

Spoiler

The ML created a second chance for them through VR after MC's death.

It's unknown to me though if MC really did travel into the console or if he was truly only an AI.

I feel bad for ML because he'll never really feel happy since he'll always have to wake up and realize again and again that he's beloved is already dead.

Honestly, I always felt that something was off from the beginning. It all just felt unnatural and strange. The side characters were like NPCs--they felt so fake, it almost made me not want to continue reading, but I stuck around because I was curious about the tags.

Gosh darn I was so happy that I didn't read the reviews before I finished reading. The extras completely obliterated the feeling of peculiarity and all that was left was hurt, discomfort and a sense of loss and loneliness. I thought it was strange... more>> how the ML never seemed like an actual teenager and how far-fetched the 'past life' was, especially considering the supposed intricate connection between their families...

(A bunch of delusions↓↓↓)

Spoiler

But if you think about it, based on the extras, the novel's world was all created from the ML's viewpoint. Perhaps, since he basically grew up by himself, he subconsciously created his character to never really interact as a normal person. The way he saved people also seemed forced. It was almost like he wanted to be a knight-in-shining-armor. He wanted to be seen as a perfect person, so MC was never aware of how ML lived and ML even purposely hid it from him. Until the end, ML didn't really have any character improvement since he was already an adult from the start, and from the start, it was all fake.

I don't believe that the extras were separate from the main story. There were too many holes and the extras mended most of them. Like QA and LH. When you consider how the world was created by the ML, then it would make sense that the side characters were just that. The focus was our dear main couple and ML seemed to really not care about everyone else aside from his lover.

In the story, ML seemed to consider MC's family as his own. So in their original world, why did they die? Since ML had always loved MC then why did he never help them go through that tough time? My theory is that he learned too late that he loved MC and never really understood his role as a husband and son-in-law. He could've helped but he didn't because as stated in the story, "When looking for a solution, he (ML) only thought that Jian Zicheng's prideful temperament would not accept his explicit help", which showed his lack of common sense and how in the original world, he actually never fitted in with MC's family.

I always did wonder why would ML be forced into marriage if MC's mother and his biological mother were best friends? My theory on this is that they never were. Maybe ML added this part to this world because it made things easier for them. In the original world, perhaps, there was never a connection between their two families and since ML didn't recognize his biological family, maybe he didn't really know how his biological family interacted, or how families interacted in general. Maybe he based his 'father' on his own persona after he lost MC. I would like to base the ML's strangeness at the mountain grave as his own feeling when he lost his lover. Anyway, I have a lot of delusions about this story hehe.

Adding on that, I always felt for JBC. He lost everything in the blink of an eye and was greedy and ignorant but in the end, he decided to live a humble life. For me, he always felt similar to MC. In the original world, what if ML never knew JBC since he didn't recognize his biological family. Maybe he could only base his character to the people around him which in this case, is our dear MC.

[collapse]

That's just a few of my theories. Anyway, I keep having a lot of delusions with this story and I almost want to write a fanfic because I wasn't happy with the bunch of gaps and holes.

Spoiler

Don't get me wrong I loved the twist because (1) it made sense, (2) our dear ML really seemed like the type who never learned how to be normal, and (3) it hurts how ML loved too late but I think he honestly doesn't deserve our dear MC.

When I think about how MC persisted with his love from primary school until they were married but ML was like a block of wood who not only didn't know how to show affection, but was even hiding everything from MC, unconsciously treating him as a s*upid, naive fool, I hurt very very much.

Honestly, I kinda hate ML. He's the kind of insensitive person who has to lose something before he realizes their worth but even when given another chance, he won't be able to redeem himself because he just don't know how to. He was never taught affection and didn't know how to love. Maybe GD was added to the story to show how ML might have liked to be treated. He may have wanted that kind of attentive care but doesn't even know how to ask for it and I kinda hate him for this.

Also, about MC. What if the reason he never told anyone about his supposed 'regression' is because ML doesn't want to pop that little bubble of normalcy that they had? If the extras were true, then ML created MC with the past memories to still have the MC who loved him for years. There were many times where I thought MC would say something but the topic always seemed to become something else. I waited until the end of the story and MC never mentioned the past life. Maybe ML knew in his heart that the current MC is fake and can never replace the real one so he created the current MC to be unable to speak about it.

Additionally, MC's fear, anxiety and depression hit me hard. I could understand that part of him and I understood the reason why he was unable to overcome his subconscious reaction. But when I think that this MC was created from ML's version of him and if ML is aware of how MC's life went off the rails after he met him, then ML probably wanted MC to avoid him. I also remember the multiple times that ML ignored MC. Considering this, who really wanted to avoid who?

There are really a lot of gaps and holes in this story. Maybe I'm also a masochist because I actually liked the complexities and the hurt it brought me because it really got me thinking about life.

[collapse]
Anyway, this is really bittersweet. I hurt again. The tragedy tag fit the story very well and my heart hurts very very much thank you <<less

First let's clarify some things. The extras are unrelated to the main story as the author had said, so the other theories in the review area can probably be taken with a grain of salt (or if you want to interpret the story like that then feel free to do so I have no objections, except for the fact that that interpretation just leaves endless pain in my heart).

Anyways since we are done with that let's proceed with the review. This novel, though it had its moments, isn't a top... more>> tier novel that will definitely rank as one of your favorites. There are some parts of the plot that seems like the author didn't know how to proceed or was probably added when the author was drunk or when they were dead tired and sleepy, cause they just glossed over it. There are plot points that just appear out of thin air and some disappear into thin air

Spoiler

(examples are the plot about MC's online friend (won't spoil it much but MC had an online friend plot point that appeared out of nowhere) and MC's head ache (that gave me a headache cause it just disappeared and was forgotten))

[collapse]

It has a potential to be great if the characters where actually fleshed out well along with the story. The author actually have a tendency to go off tangent, focusing on unnecessary parts instead of the actual important parts (like what really happened during those two time skips, why MC got back in time, what's up with the novel protag label the ML had, those sort of interesting and important stuff, there was no need to focus on how the MC became popular as a celebrity cause that was uneccessary). The readers are just given vague hints and was never given clear explanation on what's happening, except for the Ji Beichuan arc. And the way their supposed major problem ended was pretty anti-climatic.

At this point I am just giving 3 stars for Ji Beichuan, the only character in the story that had character development and felt so alive to me.

Spoiler

Yes I know Ji beichuan is a canon fodder villain and he was annoying as hell and unforgivable but considering his age and his experiences, his impulsive actions can be understood. Yes he was raised in a rich family despite not being the real son, but he have recieved no actual love and care from the father he knew. Kids his age are sensitive so I wouldn't wonder if Ji Beichuan could actually sense Ji Yuansheng's disappointment with him, causing him to feel so scared that he'd be abandoned and be returned to his real parents, who he knows as good for nothings that can't raise and provide for the ML properly. He was used to luxury and suddenly going to such a life of course he would be afraid and be desperate. Though at the end of the day what he had done was unforgivable, he actually learned something from it and actually decided to change himself even if it was too late and it won't change his actions nor will he be forgiven. That's why I gave this novel a 3 just for Ji Beichuan.

I love it. I highly recommend it. If you don't like heart-wrenching sadness, please avoid the extras. I'm not joking, they're so very painful.

the insight of Comrade Lightkaitou is very prudent and in addition to the fact that the writer only listed one main character SH... I think it might be true.

How painful... how sad.

This novel can be considered a HE or tragedy depending on the way you look at it. The writing is good but I lost interest when school arc ended and story started focusing on their careers.

Thankfully I read extras or maybe not. I don't like tragedies personally so it was a bit of shock but then if we really go with the extras, then there will be many loopholes in the story... because then you can't explain the super realistic character of MC, you can't explain where did these foreign... more>> friends came from and some other things.

I understand MC being reluctant towards ML. After all if someone died thinking that his life was ruined by the person he loved most, no matter how much love is there, there will certainly be some precautions. And here, frankly MC is a bit traumatized because of his family' death and the supposed betrayal of ML.

Anyways, this novel can be read once. <<less

The whole novel was good. There were misunderstandings, face-slapping, and fluff. Though, I must say, that nothing in the whole main story was more painful to read than those extras.

The end of the main story made me happy and giddy. I never expected that the extras would be tragedy. Those were just so beautiful and painful at the same time.

I'm rating it a bit generously but I find it so wholesome that the ML likes the MC not for his looks. Like he fell in love while MC was still overweight and I think that is the cutest thing. Have read a number of novels where the MC goes through an extraordinary change and that's only when the ML turns his head.

I am dropping it here though, I enjoyed their interactions in the beginning but the novel is delving further and further into Gary-stuness, cliche face slappings and what... more>> not. I liked MC in the beginning but he's starting to become more of a wallflower, I missed his spunkiness, bit of dumb energy, he was so so cute. But now the author always makes an effort to praise his beauty, his kindness, his numerous talents, it got a bit boring.

MC is pretty much there to enjoy being pampered and babied by his parents, friends, bystanders, and of course the ML. ML always protects the MC from the sidelines/behind the scenes and I'm not even sure how he's managed to accumulate so much expertise, skills while still being a high school student.. ML is a fast runner, a better basketball player than those that had actually dedicated to the sport, is always top of his grade in studies, can HACK!? The cliche levels keep rising and I couldn't hold it in anymore.

I'm not someone that can stomach more chapters to watch the MC be oblivious to ML's feelings while being spoilt by everyone around him. <<less

Pros:

Overall solid story with decent support characters you wish you got more of

... more>> Characters each hinted to be more complex with their own lives

Quite liked the little villain canon fodder JB, he was pathetic but for the better as a villain. I appreciate the author gave him potential & wish we got a side story for him of his own rebirth & redemption where he befriends our MC & ML instead. Implied HE

Sweet Wholesome Romance

Realistic Misunderstandings & quick resolution, due to lacking communication based off of plausible character flaws & trauma

Cons:

Frustrating misunderstandings that makes sense but you still want to choke someone

ML can be frustrating with teasing & jelly, but realistic character flaws. MC frustrating with his denial, not dense ness, it's trauma denial for sure which you only truly understand in the end. I wanted more from the ending; I loved it, made me cry, & made me want more. Felt a little cut off from main story though still plausible ending. I wanted more from main story, at least up to a proposal. I wanted to see him on his knees (you know who I mean) and then the ending made me feel like our imaginations will kill & comfort us more than what the author already left for us to grieve.

CONCLUSION: WORTH THE BINGE

I was looking forward to reading the past life epilogue since I figured it was a bittersweet romance full of misunderstandings, but it reminded me of the case of that grieving S. Korean mother wishing her daughter farewell in a VR program. It was done so beautifully; I thought they would simply fill us in on how he lived on after Jianjian's death & was full of regret. But, this was so much better. Truly beautiful & bitter. It makes me fear that our story was the VR & that the past Shen never got to see this parallel story with HE beside reborn JianJian. But then it made me happy to think he did, then sad again to think our story was just a program. We get to choose what we believe. I never cried like this, so satisfying! <<less

I love their romance. Someone else wondered why he "suddenly" became an entertainer but it wasn't sudden. It was mentioned a lot and well before he became one. And it was explained why too.... more>>

The ending was a little rushed and I felt like not everything was resolved but I would still recommend. I would not recommend however reading the extras. Unless you want to be sad. <<less

in the extras. My reaction was just WTF. The story would have been so much better without the author taking that direction. There goes my mood, and now I feel uncomfortable because it's tragic. And I feel that extras are canon or true to the endings unless explicitly stated otherwise (like if author actually states it's an AU or in another world/timeline). I dislike how the mood just shifted because of the extra. Man, I felt like I sorta wasted my time, even if the rest of the story was still good (the tragedy tag wasn't there before btw, but please free to remove if you disagree). Very fair warning, if you want a HE, do not read the extras!! <<less

I just finished binge reading this novel. Honestly, there’s nothing special about this novel, to me. Nothing new or revolutionary.

I get tired of the whole pure white MC and the domineering, paranoid ML. I constantly get confused as to why the ML treats the MC as a child. But I can’t really complain since it’s in the title.

Also, I was hoping that the MC would end up explaining his anxiety and fear of the ML at least in the extras, or towards the end.

Anyway, at the end of the day... more>> this was rlly just another binge read for me that didn’t involve a 36 y/o ceo with an innocent 18 y/o fresh out of highschool plot.

Now, despite my complaints. The reason why I gave so many stars, the reason why I’m bothering to write a review is:

The extra had me bawling my eyes out for two minutes straight.

Spoiler

I don’t know what the author put in the ending. It could just be that I’m sleep deprived or that I’m on my cycle. But the thought that this whole novel was just a simulation created by a grieving ML really hit me!!!! so!!!!! hard!!!! (Omg I’m crying again while writing). It’s so sad!!!! The thought that he completely lost the only person who cared for him simply because he couldn’t bring himself to learn or understand his own feelings. Imagine the soul crushing guilt???? And then he decides to cope by creating this whole simulation where you can go back and re-do that happy ending you never had... I know it’s not canon to the story but it still hurts!!!!
