It's a pretty straightforward novel with less drama and more cooking. The family drama is pretty much non-existent, tbh, only resolving within a couple chapters so unlike the synopsis, you don't have to tolerate dog blood moments. The FL is honestly hilarious, her brain is wired to be different from normal people and they always lead to the most dumbfounding solutions for any kind of problem. ML's character growth is spectacular! He went from a hardcore tsundere to a hardcore wife s*ave in the end lol.

This novel is also about... more>> 50% story and 50% descriptions of cooking and food, which isn't that surprising since this is a foodie novel. Though, I did skip the cooking processes in most chapters since I can't make any of those and reading them felt like wasting time.

However, my biggest qualm with this novel is how almost everyone in here exist to glorify FL.

That actress who participated in the survival show particularly left a bad taste in my mouth. She is your typical spoiled princess character and yes, she tried to take a jab at FL after losing a role to her, but she learnt her lesson immediately. There was literally no reason to compare her face, figure, to FL and her princess syndrome to FL's boss attitude constantly during the show's live stream. I mean, who in their right mind would be so desperate for a show in a jungle while being that useless, and subsequently ruin her image?

That's a dumb move, especially as we consider she was only filling up her schedule and didn't know about FL's participation, so it's not like she chased FL for revenge. Was her agent deaf, dumb, and blind? It's absolutely unrealistic considering the lengths stars go to maintain their image or rectify it. And this example was the worst. There was another cannon fodder actress in the first reality show with prejudices towards FL who also existed to have her beginner cooking skills compared to FL's masterchef hands. And then we literally never hear from her again. They're also not the only ones. And, it's always a woman trying to mess with FL only to get humiliated in turn. *Sigh*

That is the thing with this novel, only characters who are constantly in awe of FL are allowed to be recurring, while characters who oppose FL are humiliated by the story and the netizens and then they disappear as if they never existed.

It's similar to those OGFL/transmigrated FL novels where OGFLs are white lotuses and everyone in the world exist to glorify them until FL transmigrates in the world. It feels hypocritical.

But again, I have been reading too many of these novels so I'm probably thinking too much.

There are also some pretty jarring plot holes, like how FL knows how to sing/dance/act despite never taking a single class in her new life and being an iron ladle spirit in her previous life.

And she's even good enough to win the best actress award and also be a judge in an idol talent show. I'm like ????

Anyway, this novel is still entertaining if you just shut down your brain in some parts. So, I recommend it, especially for the plain comedic moments who are too good to miss! <<less

Such a sweet comedy a wonderful read despite minor flaws.

What worked:

The characters are all absolutely fantastic. The MC from her origin as an IRON LADLE to her ever receding quest to be a cute and charming princess was absolutely adorable. The ML was the cutest tsundere, continuously made you want to pinch his cheeks and give him candy. The friends were all a laugh riot. Finally EVEN THE NETIZENS WERE FUN. I know the netizens in a Cnovel were actually fun.

The writing and the translation were both top notch. The... more>> prose was clear, snappy and plain fun to read👍👍 The translator not only did a great job translating but also provided background material, notes and commentary that added to the experience.👍👍

THE FOOD: Normally I hate descriptions of recipes and food in novels, but here it works. I kept getting hungry reading this book. Recommend keeping snacks out of reach

What didn't work:

The plot. It's not as important as it sounds as the novel wasn't driven by plot but it's still a problem. First there was a battalion's worth of Chekov's guns that didn't fire. There was very little from the novel she transmigrated into that got proper treatment. The ML's fight for family assets waved away. The MC's conflict with her family? Not worth a footnote. The fact that so, uch was just waved away left an airpocket. Then there was the predictability of the plot. While it was all great fun it was all really predictable. Everything could be seen coming from far away

Bottom line: a very pleasant and fun read <<less

"Then everyone clapped" kinda novel... Pardon me, it's a celebrity cookbook, not a novel. Not much to explain here.
At least, I tried to enjoy ML but every damn thing comes from his mouth was negative. This situation took a long time to improve and the improvement was too little for me.
This is mostly an anticlimactic story with petty celebrities.
The writing was not a problem but it was too formulated, couldn't enjoy it. Dropped at 70.

This novel deserves 5 stars for its food p*rn alone. The translator is so kind to attach pictures, videos and notes. When I was reading while eating, I could notice that my appetite increased and I could ate more. Thank you translator for your hard work and bring us this fun novel.

sh*t -! Why tf the low rating!! This novel is too darn good! Our MC is an iron laddle who transmigrates from ancient world to a dog blood novel in a typical villainess body.

The ML and MC are so sweet! As a single dog- it's difficult to swallow the dog food they're providing o (╥﹏╥)

The brief explanation of the culinary and the food dishes are so good, just an imagination of the servings made me hungry o (ㄒoㄒ)

Definitely recommend to read. You won't regret!

I read the whole story within 2 days!

Translations is very good + I love how the translator took their time to add pictures and yt videos so we know what the food looks like & how its made! Props to the translator for that !

Moving on to the story, it's very nice. It's kinda fast paced and doesn't really involve much details on the story line. But things make sense and the detailing is just right. Almost all details are just about food descriptions.

MC is a literal iron ladle that was used to cook food in ancient times. She transmigrates in the body of a 18th tier actress in the showbiz industry. She loves that she transmigrated as she just wants to be a cute and fragrant girl.

The love makes sense but there are some plot holes I hope you ignore. Not much about face slapping Tang Rou or Shen Liang. She just does her stuff in a very strange way which is uniquely hilarious.

Ending was good, I kept on binge eating as I felt extremely hungry while reading this. Recommend you guys to read this along with some snacks on hand.

100/100 would re-read again.

Recc if you in the mood for fast food. It's fun enough tho eyerolls are plenty. As you expect food descriptions are many while the whole plot is very light and doesn't require much thinking or investment.

Oh so good! This novel is so sweet. I had a reading block for months and this cured it. There's a lack of good BG and I've already read most of it, so this one is really a blessing. The plot isn't actually much, just MC and ML being in love. Cooking, and c-ent based which I absolutely love! What I like about this is there's no c*ckroach antagonist and they're quickly taken care of. There's no main antagonist, everything is quickly dealt with. After that, it's already full of... more>> dog food. Even more so, I like the author's views. Women support women!

MC is strong, wants to be a princess but ended up being a KingKong Barbie because of her supernatural strength. This still made the netizens love her! She is spoiled with love, but she's not arrogant. She's true to herself which is very cute and entertaining. She also doesn't fall for ML blindly, they take time to know each other.

ML kinda fell quite early on. He's very cute. He's a CEO but not domineering. He's a CEO who's kinda tsundere but also spoils MC secretly and openly. His love for her is very cute and he's quite well-written.

There's no unnecessary family drama, just right enough for a little bit of spice. It's very unlike other novels where they try to take each other's property. This novel begs to differ, its just love and dog food all around!

The extra chapters are also so cute!!!! Their child is so cute <3

I love it. MC has great personality and her interactions with ML is also nice. There’s a lot of cooking and translator did a great of torturing readers with food p*rn. I really enjoy this novel. Translator doesn’t have ko-fi option sadly coz I’d like to give them some for their great job in translation and picking this novel.

I get that these set-ups are all the rage, but it was totally unnecessary in this story. Granted, I did stop reading at chapter 31 and come back months later, but the whole "ML being the villain and the world being a book" was... Totally unnecessary to enjoy the story, had no impact on the plot and could be forgotten about - because I did.

The idea that the MC was/is an iron ladle was a fun one, but the MC was faaaaaar too knowledge about humans (she came from a... more>> cultivation world for goodness' sake and lived in a kitchen!) and her thought-process was also... Too human. It didn't really affect my enjoyment of the story, but it was definitely a missed opportunity.

Other than that, the story is light and funny. I enjoyed the ML's character and how the FL ribbed him for being narcissistic and arrogant, and how he eventually came to realise that he was - and proudly own it. Nevertheless, he's really quite sweet. The FL was of course funny and endearing and charming. She had no flaws but came across as less Mary Sue-ish than some other offenders. Everything was light and fluffy - possibly to a fault - and the story never really examines how the expectation that women should cook affects them, which is unfortunate given that it results in a FL who is always ready no matter what to cook no matter how tired she is. A pet peeve? Possibly.

Finally, the translation. Thank you to the translator for their hard work! I think this would really benefit from being proof read. Grammatical mistakes occurred more frequently in the later chapters and sometimes the phrasing of things could be better. Not bad by any means, but just something to be noted. <<less

Okay, but this is really too cute.

Cute, sweet, soft, and specially mouth-watering (I managed to steal a couple recipes), with a great MTL reading experience, specially lovable characters and easy and sweet relationship, funny and well written.

It's a great read for a lazy afternoon when you've just finished your latest plot/drama-heavy novel, and wants to relax with silly stuff and a comfortable low-stakes read. There's no drama or dog-blood, but single dogs need to understand they will be fed even before the main couple admits they're together!

Shen Yue specially loves... more>> and respects Tang Qiaoqiao, and he's so cute and supportive towards everything she does, even if he's a cute little tsundere who eats vinegar in the background at first (and further down the novel too). She's also good and loving towards him, and the way she cares so much about him and gets along so well with him is very adorable.

Tang Qiaoqiao herself is also a very compelling character; like many others "I was an object/spirit before reincarnation" characters, she's soft, sweet, and a tad naive, but she's also smart, kind and strong (both physical and mentally) in a way that feels natural and good. She believes food is a good thing that can bring people together and make everyone like her, which works as she makes good, genuine friends all over the novel and still receives cultivation from it because of the "like" of other people for her food. Hey hey!

Also, although the name and summary might imply it, there's no big drama with the bio family or Shen's family: there's clean (and early) breaks where there needs to be, and clear cut lines where they should go, with good feelings for whoever deserves it. Shen Yue is also relatively drama-less himself, and his whole character setting is very nice.

I really enjoy the novel. I laughed A LOT! The MC is the best hahaha really xd but so silly and cute. The plot is not complicated, it doesn't have a really bad antagonist so even their final is not bad. So is a good novel to chill and kill time

Just finished reading, and laughed my way through the story. The translator picked some interesting word choices, but that added a little to the charm for me.

There are lots and lots of recipes and links to recipes in the footnotes, to go along with a lot of descriptions of the food and food prep.

2/3 of the story are about food.

The plot is simple and comedic, not deep.

Everybody like the MC. There are no solid villain in this story. The fake sister are won't appear again after she broke up with the 'original ML'.

I recommend it for people who want to read something simple, food related, and fluffy.

Giving this a 4 because I've rated lesser novels a 3, but it's more a 3.5 (the rounding up is me paying respect to the translator). It's more of a story of the FL rather than a full-blown romance. FL is unfortunately a Mary Sue, and there's really not much character development other than the romance part, precisely because she's a Mary Sue. It's a so-so story, good enough if you have nothing else to do and want a light read.

The plot holes are absolutely massive. What the hell about being a ladle but know child labor law or actually know how the original owner's aesthetic is ugly. Besides being able to cook is ok but not comment on how it's different from the cultivator world is a bit careless. Missed the opportunity on making a joke in a jacuzzi. Non of MC behavior can be related to being an iron ladle, anyway, the author just dished it halfway.

    • This novel is silly and cute. Very lighthearted. Focus is on food, MC's career, and the relationship between MC and ML.
    • I thought there would be more drama with the fake daughter situation but after one bout, it was done and that family "moved abroad".
    • Any and all antagonists didn't end up doing much and the drama petered out quickly which isn't bad but also wasn't super interesting.
    • This novel is more of a food book with celebrity (almost livestream style) plot.
    • Everything is smooth sailing for the MC so it's easy to read
    • The writing is also on the more simple side
    • ML is a total tsundere so his actions and words fit his character.
    • There are definitely potholes. Like how does MC know she's in a book for starters. But there's nothing so bad or super relevant to the overall plot that it's important.

its was a light read, a little bland. I kinda went in thinking there’d be a little more drama/face slapping but in honesty... there was no reason for the OG!ML and OG!FL or for the ML to be a big villain other than to have a brief threat to MC. It didn’t do anything. They ultimately have low screen time and down cause much drama, part way through the OG!FL completely gets faded out. Like there’s no revenge or anything the like. Even the OG!ML gets to stick around... more>> in later chapters if only to have him drool over MC’s food. ML fell fast, though in a realistic way and MC was dense.
MC’s a spiritual locking ladle and didn’t consider herself to be human after crossing yet had such an intense longing to be a girly girl. She’s straight forward and strong. Very dense at times. I did think it was strange how progressive she could be considering she was mainly around men in ancient times yet was quick to be able to live in a modern world as an actress. I did like the ML better. He was cute, a bit of a tsundere but always supporting her.
this book would probably only be half as long if it wasn’t for the wall of recipe directions within each chapter. I know it happens in a lot of cooking novels but sometimes it felt like a drain to slog through all of that just to get a hint of plot. <<less

an enjoyable read! I true feel good novel with little drama.

i love that the FL is very supportive of women! The novel showcases the downsides of women in the entertainment industry but also gave us the fantasy of having people with cruel intentions get what they are due.

the netizens are actually enjoyable to read through and just add into the novel humor.
