While writing this I was just wondering how good should be in hollywood-like hacker just to increase the note of this novel to the max.

Just read it. Usually I'm an isekai seeker and does not feel confortable with non-isekai fantasy history for who know the reason, anyway the protagonist of this novel is suberb, you like his personality, you agree with his point of view in many parts and it make you desire for more chapters, the history it takes 90 chapters just for us know the protagonist name, I... more>> think I can't call the plot of slow because it feel more like it does not finished the introduction yet, lol, my only fear with this novel is to degrade the quality after the protagonist escapes, like it is with novels with similar settings (kumo desu ga, arifureta), so, at least the escape arc (for the size we can call of saga, lol) the novel is suberb, the author know how to write, and the translator make it even better, basically the right history, with right settings, with the right writer, and the right translator, the only wrong thing is that you still reading reviews instead of start reading it. <<less

Yeah its great, I'm just going to leave this here, be warned that the translation site doesn't allow you to read all the chapters, so if you don't like the pay wall and don't want to invest time into a good novel only for 30+ chapters to be unreadable try not to read.

I don't hate paying for reading though, they worked hard.

100 chapters in a damp dank prison, I'm getting cabin fever at this point, especially with the prickly, callous regressor lol, the dog is not much better and the state officials are, well, oppressive it's oddly realistic feels like a hardcore trip to a govt office everytime they show up. It wouldn't surprise me if we spent most of the story in this d*mn prison by how things are going in particular with all the foreshadowing that miss/ter regressor is prepping for another few runs, as if she's going on... more>> a picnic or smth.

Still is undeniably well written, it's really good, the MC is frustrating yet smart as another review pointed out, it's annoying but I've enjoyed worse, I'm really curious as to the outside world, the stingy, hoarder regressor has a wealth of experience of it yet we're trapped in the prison with our MC that took over 80 chapters to reveal his name.

If you're into slow burn atmospheric, somewhat dark and mildly frustrating, slice of life, then you're on, totally recommended... this is my speculation but it will probably turn into romance harem waaay later <<less

Omniscient First Person’s Viewpoint is an amazing webnovel that heavily relies on the interaction between the characters. Most of the story until I’ve read is about characters talking to each other. With some action chapters in-between, but they are mostly scarce.

The story begins with our protagonist unfairly imprisoned in the worst prison of the Empire, Tantalus. A prison where only the most dangerous individuals are put there. After falling into the abyssal prison, our Main Character quickly meets the three main indivuals that will accompany for the most part of... more>> the story; a Regressor, a Vampire and the King of Dogs. The MC quicky assessthe situation by making use of his mind reading skill onto the Regressor’s mind. Where he finds out that the world is destined to come to an end in 10 years.

The protagonist quickly formulates a plan in which he decides that the best thing for him to do is to lie about his identity and pretend to be the prison’s warden. It is like this that through lies and deceits that the relationships between our protagonists begins. <<less

All the characters have interesting personalities, and the selling point of the novel is the interactions between them and the MC. Particularly with the MC being a professional sh*t stirrer.

The worldbuilding is also intruiging, and is given at a reasonable pace, with the longer explanations being done in an enjoyable way that adds onto the experience.

Will also add that it's my favourite Korean novel that I've read so far, and would highly recommend.

Not gonna lie. This seems to be the most promising novel of genesis.

Quick summary. The MC used to be a swindler who scams people out of money using his skill. Which is he can read people's minds. The MC is a smartass who's a very good manipulator.

Now what will happen if he is thrown into a prison consisting of some of the strongest beings in the world? Ohh, and also an actual regressor from whom the MC learnt the prison is going to be destroyed in some time?

He swindles them... more>> of course. The MC is such a likeable guy even though he's not so morally very good. The comedy in this novel is what I live for. Most of the introductory chapters are mostly comedy centric.

But underneath it all I can see a serious plot line building up. So I would say we should let them cook.

PS: No. Wanting to bone Azzy is not normal. Get a life loser. <<less

It's rare to come across a web novel that stands out so distinctly from the crowd, but Omniscient First-Person's Viewpoint achieves exactly that. From the very first chapters, I was immediately drawn into the richly crafted dystopian world and the plight of the cunning protagonist unjustly imprisoned.

What makes this story so compelling is the masterful characterization and the organic way the narrative unfolds. The protagonist's mind-reading abilities give us a unique window into the thoughts and motivations of those around him, adding layers of depth. His pragmatic survival instincts and... more>> ability to turn any situation to his advantage make him an utterly fascinating anti-hero to follow.

The diverse ensemble of characters like the ancient vampire progenitor, the dog queen, and the time-traveling regressor are all vividly portrayed with their own intricate backstories and personalities. Their interactions with the protagonist crackle with wit and tension. The world-building is also top-notch, slowly peeling away mysteries about this dark future plagued by lurking evils.

What elevates the novel further are the deep philosophical underpinnings examining questions of morality, the meaning of being human, and the struggle for survival against overwhelming odds. The prose is intelligent and insightful, going beyond mere entertainment.

With an engrossing overarching plot, psychologically nuanced characters, and a rich fully-realized setting, Omniscient First-Person's Viewpoint is a prime example of Korean web novel fiction at its finest. An absolute must-read for fans of unique, unconventional stories. I'm highly eager to see where this amazing journey will lead. <<less

From the world building to the intricate details, it's incredible. Not a single chapter of this left me disappointed. It is everything I, as a reader, could wish for. I can't even begin to fathom where I should start from about telling the greatness of this series. It has everything you could ever wish for (unless you want your MCs to be a munchkin and hate harem.) This is a very palatable story, as in almost everyone will enjoy this. The world is mysterious yet full of the wonder, the... more>> dystopian landscape being described in a way that it makes it seem as if you're experiencing this world first hand, with your own eyes and flesh. Every single major character being super fleshed out and entertaining. The characters are honestly my favorite thing about this story. They're all so fun and their interactions always leave me content (but not to say that there is not drama aswell). The MC is honestly the best thing about this, I love MCs like him. Infact, MCs are the most important to me in a story. If the MC is tr*sh (tr*sh as in takemichi from Tokyo revengers, not ferzen from robbed heroines type tr*sh.) I can't read the story, but he fits all the boxes for me personally. Anyways, enough glazing. This is a masterpiece, there I said it. <<less

I find it hard to not despise novels with harem tags normally but...I find it equally difficult to consider this... a ‘harem’?As of writing, I mean. One character shows interest in MC, and at most, two actually loves him. Unless you consider ‘MC being around a lot of female main characters’ the only requirement for harem which I surely don’t.

Either way, worldbuilding is very unique honestly. Particularly regarding the end of the Tantalus arc, very juicy deets there. Characters actually have personalities and the main character being made intentionally mysterious... more>> makes for interesting moments regarding what his past truly is, his name even remains a mystery for a while. At the same time, his personality is pretty great and makes up half the comedy of the novel honestly.

Despite others screaming ‘plot armor’, I only consider
Spoiler

The first encounter with Shei to be somewhat plot armor but even then, calling it a miracle is a bit of a stretch consider the sword’s widthless nature make it easy to deflect if one targets the side and it’s way easier to miss and hit the side than directly hit the tip of such a sword. Because otherwise, everything else is pretty well-explained. The main character is in Tantalus because a lot of prisoners and laborers died and they needed new laborers (staff) to fill in the area. Mind reading I doubt will just be something given to MC by chance and that will be very interesting when why and how he has such an ability.

Overall very strong novel just missing two tags

A). Loli

B). Dense Protagonist

... more>> We follow our "hero" into the depths of Tantalus where very overpowered beings reside and are held captive. The first 100 chapters is the MC lying and manipulating his way to survival... or so he thinks but in actuality he's bonding and becoming a loving companion to the heroines yet he himself does not realize it

There are currently 4 heroines by the end of chapter 100. Here's a brief rundown

Tyrzankya: She the white haird vampire seen in the cover. She's also the reason for the missing loli tag, She has the personality of a grandma to be expected when your a 1000 yeat old loli
Spoiler

she was intially a normal young girl who met an unfortunate end and become the first vampire. Because she looks the same as when she died she ends up having the appearance of a young girl. She's also the first and only heroine to fall in love with the MC by the end of chapter 100

[collapse]

Shei: The Regressor a with a temper. This girl pretending to be a guy and very prone to yaoi jokes is actually a very sad soul
Spoiler

with incredibly suicidal tendacies losing all meaning when it comes to her safety

[collapse]

Azzy: She is a dog.

Abbey: She is tsundere golem controlling girl. She synchronizes with her golems in order to keep the prisoners in check
Spoiler

it turns out she basically is always synchronizd to her golems and has lived her life inside a box for the past couple years to the point she doesn't even realize if she's synchronizd or not anymore. Also is treated even worse than criminals because of the way she had to live. She is the second heroine to fall in love with the mc

I don't review things, in fact I have never even wanted to, but I feel the need for this story. It's great, actually spectacular. I also only read the free chapters, maybe it gets dragged on too far later but as of chapter 138, I could see quite a few avenues for the story to keep going. I understand that guidelines exist for a reason, and tooting the horn of a TL is generally not what we want to be doing but Genesis does a fantastic job with the story.... more>> The choice of words, the cleaning, the formatting propels the story forward, word choice is integral in a good story, especially for the parts of the story containing the death. I daresay that it is the backbone of this entire novel.

The unreliable narrator makes us look through the story in a way that has readers looking for foreshadowing, the setting itself, the brief periods of seeing how the others viewed the MC as it goes on. When he gets caught in the occasional lie by omission it is just enough to hint more without overplaying the author's hand and avoids jeopardizing the point of an unreliable narrator.

The characters other than the main 3 feel somewhat lacking in actual fleshing out for the readers as of yet, and of course our lovely narrator doesn't do us much in solving this, but there has been slow lead-up to it. Characters up to this point have developed, albeit slowly and subtly throughout the story, and huge revelations have been hinted at regarding both our lovely narrator and other characters.

Do I recommend this story? Yes. Do I think the story can keep going without getting stale past this point in it? Yes. Is it written well? Yes. Most importantly, am I invested in the story itself to the point of making what will be my first and to be only recommendation on this site? Yes. <<less

Really enjoyed reading up to chapter 85, which isn't even close to the 400+ chapters that are currently available in Korea as of the moment of this review. If the quality stays the same, I'll bump up my rating, but for now my rating will stay as a 3/5.

The story hits all the things I like reading about. A main character who uses deceit and trickery to preserve their own life. The dialogue is also enjoyable to read. The main character may come off as speciesist, though in-universe he does... more>> fit as an average criminal with normal views, which are "dogs are man's best friend, but they are not people."

A short summary of my rating. 1 means the novel is bad. 2 is meh. 3 is good. 4 is great. 5 is a masterpiece. When I say masterpiece, I mean the novel has to be a piece of literature that will last past my lifetime. Most novels fall under 1 or 2. 3 is where good novels start. 4 is my preferences for reading. <<less

Insane world building and character detailing. The world is built very solid and well thought out. The character's personalities are properly (and logically) explained, with the background story actually tightly connected to the world's situation as well as how the characters behave (thought process, skills, how they solve problems,...)

Omniscient First Person View is a novel with an intriguing plot and well-developed characters. The story revolves around a con-artist main character (MC) who is unjustly imprisoned in an abyssal prison called Tantalus. He possesses mind-reading abilities and uses his wit and skills to survive, while uncovering secrets and mysteries about the world and its impending doom.

Readers appreciate the unique setting, the slow-paced story progression, and the depth of the characters, particularly the MC. The novel focuses more on friendship than romance, even though it is tagged as a harem... more>> novel. The dystopian world-setting is well-executed, and the story is filled with humor and intriguing twists.

Critics mention the slow pace of translation and some occasional improper use of modern slang. Despite these minor issues, the novel is highly recommended for its exceptional storytelling, characters, and unique premise.

Personally, I love the MC a lot. He's so unique in his actions and thought process, and there is clearly a lot of things that is hidden from the reader about his character. His interactions with the others, especially the vampire, is so much fun :)) <<less

Incredibly well-crafted for a webnovel, particularly of the Harem genre.

The novel is set in a medieval fantasy world that had its clock advanced a few decades into a modern society. The world the protagonist lives in is like a dystopian society, focused solely on efficiency. Despite that, emotion is one of the key plot drivers in this novel, which makes for an interesting dynamic.

This is mainly a character-driven narrative, which is a good use of the protagonist's mind-reading powers. Every character feels vibrant and complex, yet grounded enough in reality... more>> that the reader doesn't feel detached from them. Mind reading is used to achieve this. It allows the author to introduce the true essence of the characters to us while avoiding exposition or unnatural moments of vulnerability. I haven't seen the power of mind reading used in such a way before, and I think it's fairly impressive.

Every character in this novel has a fun dynamic between their inner thoughts and their outward behavior, and effort is taken to flesh out even the most irrelevant side characters. This doesn't make the novel feel dragged out, however, because the author is careful not to introduce unnecessary characters to the story. It does cause the pace of the plot progression to slow down though, if that matters to you.

If I have but one worry, it would still be the Harem tag. So far, the main heroines haven't had much time to compete with each other yet. Useless filler based on heroines competing for the MC is one of the main downfalls of every Harem novel. I'm also concerned that the author will start to flatten and simplify their characters once the MC builds up too wide of a party. However, the story has not begun doing so yet, so the novel still deserves a 5-star rating.

Overall, I strongly recommend this novel for anyone looking for a good character-driven narrative. <<less

Much like Regressor Instruction Manual, we have a mind reader MC stumbling across a regressor and finding out about the future. However, whereas Lee Kiyoung is a psychopath, our MC is a weak conman who just wants to survive. I won't go into detail about him; despite the rich premise this story is heavily character-driven. The entire cast has rich characterizations, but the chief driver is always the MC. The prologue ... more>>

Very well written novel the characters are three dimensional and interesting. I can feel they are alive with their own thoughts and the worldbuilding is really well-crafted. The main character is particularly intriguing and enigmatic he's an unreliable narrator making it difficult to guess what his actual thoughts are which adds to his unpredictability and mysterious background.

The only reason I am giving it a five star is because there are few very epic moments in the novel and they are executed perfectly. And for people who like slow buildup, makes it worth reading. There are some plot holes in the beginning but are later filled, which makes it a lot better.

It’s been ages since I wrote a review but I adore this story. I tend to mindlessly consume most popular content on this site but even still this one is particularly special. The use of brains and clever tactics over power from the protag is so much more interesting compared to most other stories here. The story is about a mere con artist want to change the future where he is no longer exist. He was imprison in Tantalus - The Abyssal Prison, a dystopia world where he found his future companion (harem?). One of them is a Regressor who come back from 10 years in future, and thank to his ability - mind reading, he found out that he was fated to die in a year.
MC:

Spoiler

He is a con artist, so ofc his IQ is not room temperature. But with just 30+ chapter we dont know if he is smarter or stronger in the future. He know how to calculate things, tame a dog (a god dog in human form), and control people's emotion. He doesn't seem to be a harem seeker. We are just in prologue, so MC is only concentrate on his own survival.

[collapse]
I hope MC can care more about his harem in the future.
Other characters:

Spoiler

The regressor: who pretend to be a boy, doesn't realize MC knew it. The timeline of the start novel is on her 14th regression. She is the most dangerous person, MC has to deal with. She is a hot tempered person with mind setting "everything is all right as long as I still can regress". She tried to kill MC many times because he is an uncertain variable in her future. She can learn many skill even vampire's skill, worthy the alias - The Regressor
The dog king: Ruler of all dogs and can't disobey human's order. She was imprisoned because that, she follow any humans side, even enemies as long as that is human.
The first vampire: a mortal being who can't die or even kill herself. Long life makes her become apathetic. She is now the regressor's master.

This is a must read.
