This story is good. I enjoy it especially if you read the Author's previous works. Which make many references in this on. I'll say that many people will enjoy the beginning part more than the middle part. By the middle it does drag while going to the imperial arc. Thou it gives very much lore hints to the Mc's past and why they killed his grandpa. It’s ok. I’d rate it as a rather standard story.

The first part is quite good (100-150 chapters). After that, it feels like the author got a bit too much tunnel vision as the story expanded and story beats started falling flat.

The ending is pretty generic, and quite honestly a letdown given how the story builds up to that point.

I must say, I'm surprised by how low this novel is rated. While this may be due to it being new I also have a couple other theories.

And the main turn off for most ppl with this novel is the attitude and personality of the MC. HE IS A CRUEL SADISTIC PERSON WHO WILL KILL TO GET STRONGER AND FOR FUN. Some may like this while others may not, it really depends on the person. So if you don't like these types of MCs don't even think of starting the... more>> novel.

The MC is also very smart, similar to someone like the MC from reaper of the drifting moon. Honestly the MC reminds me the MC of reaper of the drifting moon in many ways just a bit crueler.

But if you do like this type of MC than the novel is perfect for you. The MC isnt overpowered like a chinese novels MC and the writing quality is top notch. And finally what I think is the most impressive part of this novel is that the author was able to create an evil MC who isn't a total edgelord. This is something that many authors have struggled with and im impressed by how the author approached the situation.

(Btw if any author is reading this I think he was able to do it by not giving the MC some depressing backstory developing the book into a cliche revenge story.)

I would recommend giving it a read if you have the time.

(Also the MC of this novel is apparently the person who started the demon cult in the novel Nano Machine, meaning that this novel is in the same universe just in the past) <<less
