One of the best or the best murim novels I have read

The story may seem long to you but it is never boring as the protagonist doesn't instantly become strong and goes through everything step by step like qi cultivation techniques footwork etc

The plot is also remarkable as there is a predestined antagonist organisation and it also involves strategy as there is political infighting in the murim alliance

It is a must read murim novel and I would probably rate it higher than nano machine

I love this Wuxia novel and it's probably my favorite in the genre. Very well-written (not sure about English, but in Korean it's phenomenal), amazing story and characters, and the MC is the cherry on top. Undoubtedly top-tier. The Manhwa doesn't do this novel any justice. There are so many unique aspects that make it stand out compared to the rest. The regression trope might sound boring, but the story more than negates that.

You've got the typical martial world political structure of Great Sects and Clans of Orthodox, Unorthodox (Black... more>> Path), and the Demonic Faction. What this novel does differently is introduce 2 powerful, unique clans (Yeon Clan and Myeong Clan) as well as 3 Evil Cults that are part of the Demonic Faction. The 3 Evil Cults are arguably the strongest in the martial world, and the MC's goal is to destroy all 3 cults. He was only able to destroy 1 of them, Evil Lust Cult, in his first life.

The MC doesn't use a sword or spear as his primary weapon like in many other novels, instead he uses chained battle axes like a complete badass. Kratos style. Reading all of Yeon Hojeong's fights are an absolute treat.

When the MC regresses to the past, he doesn't instantly become overpowered. It's a long journey for him to reach the same level he was at in the past. He uses his power, intelligence, wits, and future knowledge to get past stronger enemies. Strategy is a very crucial element in the novel alongside power. A lot of problems cannot be resolved with just brute strength. He is forced to make connections with many people in order to overcome enemies beyond his reach. The MC is by no means weak. He is very strong and it's just that all his fights are against the powerful adults and elders of the martial world who have cultivated for decades or even centuries.

Finally, the unique cultivation realms are also very clear to understand:

Third Class < Second Class < First Class < Super First Class < Peak < Transcendence

Boundless < Beyond Boundless (the realms after Transcendence). The MC was at the Boundless realm in his first life and was called the Dark Sovereign. He was undoubtedly one of the strongest people in martial world's history. However, that wasn't enough to solo the leaders of the 3 Evil Cults who were Beyond Boundless.

I've read about 1350 chapters, and the novel is coming to an end pretty soon. If you held back on reading it because you thought it would reach 2000+ chapters, you can start reading now because there aren't many chapters left. <<less

The novel is good; but the translation is so inconsistent. Every thing, person, and dog seem to have five different names, shifting each chapter.

When they were talking about the seven great families, they mentioned the Tang family (experts in poison and hidden weapons). Then the next chapter they talk about the arrogant Dang family. And I genuinely thought they were talking about another of the 7 families, until they passingly mentioned their poison techniques.

Same thing with beggar sect, and the "Gae-bang" which is composed of beggars. The names are also... more>> sometimes written with a space between the first and last names and sometimes as one word. Sometimes we have English translations for the names and sometimes we have different English translations for the same names. <<less
