Story is 3/4 smut with a bit of plot to keep it interesting. Right now it's a bit dark with the original hosts history (mother dead, framed by foster mother, prison, etc) and the selfish manipulations of the "weak" harem men. Get the impression that later its supposed to build up to something fluffy or at least HE.

This is a gender reversal story that deals with psychological power play. We have the weak kept men of the harem and our powerful empress. Our modern MC transmigrates into an imprisoned princess... more>> and becomes empress. Coming from patriarchal modern china our MC gives off a distinctly submissive, soft, and kind aura which is unusual in this matriarchal alternate world. Women here are larger, stronger, and more domineering than men. This attracts some "weak" harem men who are attracted to the power reversal in bed. This is a fairly common kink in real life so pretty easy to see where the story is planning to go.

This being an ancient china harem story it's full of the standard manipulations, dubious consent (drugs, alcohol), and harem drama. With this being a smut harem novel, make it lots of dubious consent. That being said its not as r*pey as it seems as asian culture (like pre-70's US) expect girls to verbally say "No" even if they really mean "yes" due to social expectations. It becomes pretty clear after the 2nd or 3rd time that she actually does want it but says no due to "shame" aka embarrassment.

Wish the MC was a stronger character. Having her be so weak/passive takes away from the gender role reversal. Part of the fun is to see a strong FC in a position of authority. If we wanted a weak, dependent FC there are plenty of "My time with a CEO" etc.. Etc.. Thankfully, this is mostly smut so ¯_ (ツ) _/¯

Translation is a bit engrish-y but not awful. It can be distracting at times and even funny. Story is not meant to be funny but some of the engrish imagery is just ridiculous. So if you are into power reversal and enjoy the dubious consent (real and not) that often comes with the kink then read this story. Obviously, if this isn't your thing you're better off skipping this.

I'm sorry but this story is utter garbage.

Like, not only does it seem to be told in more of a "summary" style. More Telling instead of Showing, which I could excuse if the story were interesting. BUT beyond the basic premise, the execution of just about everything was really poor.

I wanted to read a story about a modern woman being flung into the position of Empress, doing some political maneuvering, and even have some smut where she has a harem of pretty boys. But Nah, she's put into... more>> the body of a malnourished child, basically is being manipulated by two grown men (but since it's a female-dominated society this is okay) and apparently is later RAPED, and has to just deal with it, because she's the Empress.

The MC is too naive and I'm not in the mood for naive babies being turned into weird sexually exploited pawns.

It kills me that people were leaving comments about how funny the story is when NOTHING was funny.

If I could give this zero stars, I would.

Females learn sword-fighting and hold power in the court while the men wear makeup, learn embroidery and manage the household. The story starts off lighthearted with MC in the body of a neglected princess who unexpectedly ascended onto the dragon throne and stumbles her way through intrigues and plots.

The r*pe trope is problematically common in chinese stories. However in this context of of the imperial harem where intrigues abound, usage of the r*pe troupe makes sense. MC started out as a naive young adult still carrying sensibilities from the modern world into the imperial palace where she gets tricked by men who rely on underhanded plots to get what they want in this matriarchal society. Basically its a smut novel but it is an interesting one because it combines raunchy smut with politicking and character growth.

Through hard lessons, MC matures and grow to be more capable as a ruler. She learns that she cannot behave only as a girl in love, she is the empress and her actions have consequences, even when it comes to who she favors in the harem. Also, that her modern sensitivities have no room in this historical context and endangers those she wishes to protect. Author is not above killing off MLs to further push MC to mature.

As a reader, I felt it as well, because author chose to kill off MLs that are significant to MC, one is her closest friend and pillar of support, and the other her first love.

Also, it is gratifying to see that not all the MLs are in love with MC. Some took more time to warm up and some are more concerned about their own agendas than pleasing her.

Having said that, I feel some of the ML are not given enough screen time. Hopefully we will see more in the future chapters.

Epic failed being an empress, useless empress I think most of her time was s*x and sticking to men, what's the use of being from a modern time if it can't use it govern being an empress.

S*ex scenes almost all scenes are the same but different guys. Like being forced and other reasons. In long run it was lousy and no more trill. Well, still 5star for the effort.

I honestly had high hopes for this to be a true genderbent/ role reversal story. This is more of a stereotypical reverse harem story, do not expect the female lead to actually contribute as a main lead....

I personally don't like reverse harem stories because I don't like the way the female lead gets pulled along by the men in the harem and how abusive the situation becomes....

I honestly enjoy it. She is apparently a good empress who is doing well and has harmony in the court with the exception of them wanting her to have concubines. I cant tell if shes 13 or 15. Either way shes been consensuel partner as far as I have seen. Pretty interesting to see the guys using the white lotus act
