It was interesting at first but when her friend came around it got totally shitty in my opinion. The plot armor is strong, I mean just because she learns to dive and swim she then 'accidentally' finds a secret place that can grant special armor and skills. Then there's the part with the MC that doesn't make any sense. She levels up and puts all her status points into her defense and yet her hp is still the same. The MC is a dense loli, cute, OP and she has a fan club. She's pretty much a mary sue but then her friend came making the story about TWO mary sues.

Nah, not worth my time.

First off, do not be fooled by the negative reviews. Most of those are just vain and pretentious reviews at best. Most of the negative reviews are practically "I don't like it. If you like it, you are below me" those kind of reviews.

The story knows what itself is and isn't trying to be what it isn't. This story doesn't take itself serious, so don't blame the story when you try to take it seriously. It's just a story about an OP cute girl doing cute things that makes her... more>> more OP, that's it. There's no twist or anything in the story. It's not deep but it's a very relaxing and fun read for people like me after getting off from a hard day work. There's nothing wrong with reading a story that doesn't require you to think so much.

This story isn't trying to be anything grand or trying to win any award. The author is not trying to write a masterpiece or anything. People just have to start realizing not every story has to be a masterpiece or deep. Please. <<less

If you want a MMO story, don't read this. If you want cute girls doing cute things... eh, you might be able to read it.

The heaviest focus is on the game mechanics, but as a reader you'll find one mechanic more ridiculous than the next. Just from the start, you have to wonder what kind of game not only allows a player to put ALL her points into one stat with 0 points in all the rest, but also she gets free stat points on top of that stat so... more>> she can use her starting equipment. What follows is one ridiculous mechanic explanation after another, with very little rhyme or reason.

If you're hoping for Kaede and her friend to play together, as of chapter 20 they've mostly just stood around talking to each other about the ridiculous mechanics, then split up to do stuff. They're both tolerably cute, but the game mechanics and weird, obviously OP items just get in the way. <<less

It's a slice of life comedy novel about VRMMORPG

People might find it boring, but that's because slice of life simply doesn't suits their tastes, so you should try to read this one if you think you can handle it.

One notable point is... it's a comedy; you'll see a lot of moments where Maple, the MC, bring ultimate headaches to the game developers.

Even if she's overpowered, it's all in the name of gags, so you shouldn't mind it too much.

Just enjoy it for the lulz.

This is about an airhead girl that play a vrmmorpg because her friend forced her. And because she don't like a pain, she became a full build defense. She just give all stat point just in VIT and other stat is ZERO!

Then how can she attack? (Well you know, no STR, no AGI, etc)

That is where we laugh out loud!

If you want a simple and funny story then you must read this! Each chapter is short but always make me laugh!

The story really ran out of steam & isn't going anywhere.... It started out decently but made the main character too OP too quickly, killing any hopes of a decent story. Once the friend enters the picture, there isn't even a decent slice of life story since it tries too hard to be more "MMO-esque" but fails.

At some point I started wondering whether the author was including the chat-room commentary & skill/equipment descriptions just to pad out the word count.

Ok, first off- this story is a cute story genre and not so much on VRMMO. The main premise of it is a loli going around bashing things into fluff heaven with her big ass shield, and it does just that. Also, she's good at eating things alive.... literally.

And the story's not meant to be put much thought into, it's cute for the sake of cute! now enjoy.

Start out interesting but this is one of the examples of the author making a novel about RPG game without actually having an experience or understanding of the thing he is writing, especially MMORPG, Single player RPG is one thing since it is often just power fantasy, your character is special so you could wreak havoc however you want

MMORPG, however, is different, everyone is a player and all player is equal (except for the pay to win rich bastard), balance is the utmost importance in an MMORPG, it doesn't matter... more>> how complex or varied the weapon or class or equipment or skill or whatever, once a player found a way to optimize a build, they will create the META build and share it with the community and anything that is not remotely close to efficiency with the META will be ignored, so on the surface a game might have hundreds of class or character or whatever but in the end only dozen or so will be used if it isn't balanced, to keep the game interesting of course the game should be designed with that in mind, this, however, ignore any consideration for realistic *game design* out of the window, I kinda wished this is just another isekai story, at least that way the author does not have to worry about other people and could focus on making the MC as OP as he wants

LMS is one of the biggest MMORPG novels out there, it is flawed but at least the author understand the basic of how MMO work, the MC sometimes seemed OP but when you look at other people there are plenty of strong player throughout the world and the game is balanced enough to make it somewhat believable

anyway if you like a cute, mindless and harmless story then this is not bad but if you are like me and get bothered too easily by the flawed premise then this isn't for you. <<less

Why read? Just cause is nonsensical fun all around. It's specially funny seeing the Game developers giving up trying to balance MC, n' seeing her, although unreasonably op... Still being an easy going airhead who doesn't understand that's 'something' wrong she being top10 lvl 25 player when others tops are lvl60... just gonna say that... Even I envy a flying giant turtle fortress that rains despair... It rly seems funny...

Ow yeah, it took me a GREAT time to understand something simple: hp does not rises with lvl up or vit...... more>> Its just another atribute u should upgrade, that's why she has 1k vit n' 40hp. Plz, read guys... <<less

I was enjoying it at first but all the inaccuracies on a simple addition of stats are throwing me off. Also the author doesn't seem to know how an RPG works.

Any Game Developer would be smart enough to not put any absolute skills in it, specially resistance skills. Also Growth item on a beginner dungeon? And you could put skills on it as well? That's just really s*upid.

A novel that clearly has the wrong medium. If anything, this novel would only do itself justice by being a manga in the first place, seeing how utterly s*upid it is.

It's essentially a happy-go-lucky cute girls doing cute things novel. Just that something like that never really works in novel format. Perhaps if you're very young, but any normal adult would find it a pain to read through, usually.

If you're anything like a gamer who has ever taken games seriously, this novel will feel rather offensive. I was once a... more>> gamer and I grew up a gamer even though I barely play any games in recent years. I know everything there is to know about games and obviously have deep experience with that entertainment medium from my countless hours dedicated to it. This novel, sadly, feels like something of a slap to the face. I never expected realism or anything close to it, I knew it would be silly, but when you butcher the very basics of what makes something a game, especially a mmorpg, and then you dare to call it a vrmmorpg despite having nothing whatsoever that resembles a game, it's just painful to watch. Cringe moments everywhere, the feeling of wanting to facepalm every second of the way. While it doesn't try to be, it's nothing but a blatant insult how these morons gets gear, unbelievable skills and endless cheats while doing nothing but acting like bonafide idiots and fooling around.

People who doesn't have a background as a serious gamer and/or mmorpg enthusiast wouldn't even begin to understand why this is so offensive and why so many people are offended by something that should, by all means, just be harmless fun with no ill intent. Just imagine someone taking a sh*t on your countless hours of effort for no reason, denying even basic resemblance of what makes a mmorpg yet still having the gall of telling you that this is possible.

This, of course, doesn't make the novel unreadable for everyone. Some people just love the whole cute girls doing cute things and couldn't give even half a flying f*ck about if it's impossible or not. I always found that something is never funny if it fails to even be possible. Things can be unrealistic and random yet still be funny or be funny exactly for that reason. But if something is so impossible (see, impossible, not just unrealistic) that it simply can't happen under the story setting, it's not amusing, it's just annoying. Contrary to common belief, something needs to be relatable or believable to be amusing or interesting. It needs to resonate with you. As someone who was once an avid gamer, this novel couldn't be more out of place, it's a sore thumb sticking out. I know, by every fiber of my being, that this "vrmmorpg" is so utterly impossible that it wouldn't happen even as a joke. I can't stop thinking about it nor can I stop caring about how offensive it is to people who take games seriously. This story would've been better if placed in an isekai world instead of a game, because then we can reluctantly ignore these flaws and call them plausible instead of impossible. But I simply can't have someone shoving dog turds into my mouth while trying to deceive myself that it's chocolate.

Then again, I won't be unfair and say that no one should read it. In fact, this might be the perfect novel for you. Do you love cute girls doing cute things? Do you want to read something that doesn't really make sense but is kinda heartwarming, in essence, fluff? Were you never a gamer, or at least not a mmorpg gamer that took things seriously? Do you feel like you can accept clear illogical story developments and s*upidity from the main characters? Can you completely suspend your disbelief and stop caring, just reading for fun? Then go ahead. But if a few of those things sound like something that wouldn't be your cup of tea, you'd do best to avoid this. It's going to be a 1/5 class novel for you.

Also, the anime or manga might be better overall. One part of why this is so painful to read is because it's a novel and you have to spend a lot of time wading through the chapters, having plenty of time to notice and point out any flaws or parts you dislike. Things like that are way better when it comes to manga or anime, especially manga. You read so quickly that you won't need to think much and a lot of details are left out which leaves less annoying parts. The less you're exposed to them, the easier it is to swallow. This is also why cute girls doing cute things stories were never that good or prevalent in novel format. I personally picked up the anime and I'm currently watching it as background noise while reading something else which works pretty well, I still follow it but just half-heartedly. Anyway, that's a piece of my mind. <<less

When I was reading this, what I felt was excitement. No matter how ridiculous the development of our MC, how she easily stumble new things just by walking, or how coincidence always happens, it's fun reading this.

It's a fluffy story of the game adventure of Maple and her friends. No too serious stuffs like PK-ing, player harassment, or personal fight. It's just about how the main character doing their own things while stumbling every hidden quest and getting unique rewards. So yeah, the setting is too much ridiculous. But... more>> you know, what matters in the end is...*insert the first sentence*

5/5 will recommend this for those who wants a relaxing reading. <<less

And u know wtat? Its fun. Its completely absolutely unreasonable novel, dat works as a great time killer.

People complaining about plot armor and stuff clearly didn't read the tags coming in. This was never meant to be some plot driven drama, its a slice of life, fluffy comedy and it does that well, I love following Maple and I always get at least a decent chuckle whenever she breaks someone's common sense. Especially the Devs.

All in all, if you're looking for a cute little story following a maybe slightly insane, adorable OP girl, this is for you.

This is a great fluffy novel to read about an op cute girl. It has enough action and it amazing how the MC gets stronger. The translator is great about releasing new chapters and each chapter is very interesting.

The innocent story of a girl who hates pain... Probably the cutest and funniest rationalization I've ever read/seen for someone choosing a full tank build, ahaha! Too early so say whether this should be 5 star so I'll mark it as 4 star right now.

A completely absurd and silly series that doesn't take itself the least bit seriously.

It's cute and fluffy, which is fine if you are just reading it to have fun.

Don't go in with any expectations of drama, romance, depth, or true conflict/peril,

... more>> none of that is in the series at this point and I doubt they ever will be.

I feel like a ton of people reviewing have kind of misunderstood the whole concept of the entire novel. The novel doesn't have a point or underlying meaning, but the premise is the surprising success of someone who does not follow the thought process or logic of an avid gamer, especially one who plays MMORPG's. Not a deep message in the least, rather, it's fairly shallow; however, having a clueless airhead with a nonsensical build being potentially the top player in the game, on top of the completely arbitrary mechanics and logic within the game and seemingly random methods of acquiring skills, ultimately (either intentionally or not) makes a mockery of the "min/max gitgud big d**k dps" culture that expects everyone to 100% follow the meta. A lot of MMO's have an atmosphere that is extremely unwelcoming to new or casual players, and have very toxic raiding communities that accompany said 'gitgud' mentality... so Maple having no idea what she is doing yet outperforming most players is kind of a slap to the face to hardcore MMO players.

And for people who haven't gotten very far, and are concerned about Maple's power level:

The admins attempt to nerf Maple several times, such as limiting her skill use, tweaking monster AI and stats, and adding piercing damage. but as she kept finding weird and OP skills/combos, at a certain point she had become the face of the game, and her quirkiness had contributed greatly to sales, thus they feared reprisal/backlash if they nerfed Maple into oblivion, which is what the proper Admin would do immediately if such a game-breaking character existed. And on a further note, as the story progresses Maple isn't ALWAYS all-powerful. There is a decent amount of content she wouldn't be able solo, there are enemies that are virtually impossible for her to damage, and there are even times where enemies would have a good chance of killing her if her party members weren't also overpowered. Then, of course, eventually Maple resumes being OP by finding another non-sensical skill and/or unconventional tactic

If you are looking for a kind of non-sensical braindead fun that follows a game lacking logic, has minimal plot, features an overpowered protagonist, and you like Cute Girls doing Cute Things, then this might be in your wheelhouse.

If you are someone that is overly serious, finds difficulty in suspending disbelief, expects every work of fiction to be a profound masterpiece, and/or can't stand the concept of a game existing that follows little to no logic or gaming conventions, then this is almost certainly not for you <<less

It's... well, it's not something that I hated reading.

It has no real substance, there's no real conflict. The writer or translator uses a story telling feel that doesn't lend itself to any tension and there's no doubt that the main character will simply continue to get stronger after a rather standard overwhelmingly amazing start.

The plot is devoid of interesting and it's as if the point of the story is just for people to imagine a cute girl doing cute sh*t over and over. Honestly if that is the case there are other websites that can fulfill that desire to a greater degree. In a nutshell if you like to think about little girls this is the story for you, if you value actual plot and story don't read this.
