Cute story with a heart rending first half of the book. The FL went through horrific childhood abuse. The adopted parents, especially the Mum, and the young friends she made, are fantastic to bring the FL out of her ‘snail’ shell to become the bright and valiant teenager. The ML also has a good back story of making decisions on how to approach his life path early due to his genius IQ. The ML’s father is a hoot with his teasing of his son.

character development was good... some may say it was a huge change but it was justified from the things that they dealt... it was a justified change.

Fluffy, heartwarming and adorable.

The cuteness is just 💗

The story starts when they are 7 and about 70% of the novel is during this time before there is a time skip. When they are in high school and such is good, but nowhere near as good as the first 1/2. I know they are older, so the story has to change, but there is something about it that feels a little off. Probably because of the differences in personality that the ML and MC go through.

The MC was horrifically abused by... more>> her parents before being adopted by the doctor that took care of her injuries and his wife. They really love her. The mum especially adores her and the way the family take care of her and help her recover from her trauma is just so warm. (Although, she does seem to recover very quickly and easily. I guess because if it was more realistic, it would be a very different story.)

You then have the ML, who is a genius with a high EQ. He is bored and generally uninterested in school and wants to go to uni. His parents are stuck between trying to get him to act like a kid and keeping him happy. The dad gets him to help with his class planning (as a university professor) while the mum won't let him do homework at home because she doesn't think children should have to do homework. He previously spent some time at the uni with his dad in class, so he is more mature because he spent time talking to lots of diffent adults. His parents do try to get him to be a kid. They make him go to primary school, try to get him to go on walks and go to the park, etc. They are both kind and unlike most child genius stories where they have a kid losing out on the childhood experience, this one has no interest in it. Atleast until he meets the MC. He is so sweet with her. He treats her as a friend and also as his child. He helps her and comforts her and they are so stinking adorable.

There are also 2 other little friends. An outgoing girl and a boy with a stutter.

The parents and teachers are all just so lovely. It's like the story is wrapped in cotton candy. Everything is fluffy and sweet. (Even with the incredibly cruel child abuse that gets mentioned occasionally.)

Ch 104 and 105 confused me. I felt like there was parts of them missing or something?

So much of this story is just adorable children. So if you like stories with kids selling meng, the first half of this book is almost exclusively that. <<less
