【Orthodox Cultivation, Growth Genre, No CP】

The Immortal strokes my head, and with bound hair, I embrace eternal life.

A lone girl named Jiang Yuebai, climbs the Nine Heavens over mountains, seeking the path of the Immortal, roaming the heavens and treading the clouds.

The path of cultivation is to go against the heavens.

Struggling with the heavens, the earth, others, and oneself.

Because Senior sister recites ten volumes of scriptures a day, she will read books until dawn.

Because Senior brother practices the sword a hundred times, she will practice with a spear all night.

Because Master refines pills, sitting through the night, she will keep the alchemy furnace’s fire burning!

If she doesn’t exhaust herself, she’ll exhaust others, striving to make all cultivators cry.

【You are focused on alchemy, but because you’ve been too relentless in refining, the alchemy furnace couldn’t handle the burden and exploded, decreasing your alchemy proficiency by -1.】

【You moved on to using an iron pot for alchemy and unexpectedly discovered that it’s easier to control the fire with the iron pot, and the medicinal materials heat up more evenly, increasing your alchemy proficiency by +5.】

【Congratulations, your alchemy skill has leveled up!】

Note: There is a cultivation data panel in the early stage, with the attribute of satirical commentary. There are no skill points, rewards, or missions. The appearance rate is low and it will be abandoned later.

[Traditional background of cultivation (focusing on Qi cultivation, foundation building, and level-up paths), with the protagonist being an all-around talented “overpowered” individual. The writing style becomes more light-hearted as the story progresses, and it gradually deviates from the theme of suffering from deep revenge.] [This is not a realistic literary work, nor does it follow the path of enlightenment. It follows the “cool” literature route with imperfect character designs, and supporting characters have both flaws and growth arcs. Also, there is no romantic pairing for the protagonist (no CP)!]

This novel is pretty addictive. The most likable thing about it is the Heroine's character. She is relentless, and never gives up. She inspires all those around her and gains their hearts and respect. It's the common scenario of the underdog working hard and becoming the best. Cliche and I'm here for it. She wants to learn everything and manages to surprise those around her.

Unfortunately, that does tend to get overwhelming in a while as she doesn't focus on one thing and things kinda get lost and become meaningless. There... more>> are also some boring chapters where she just writes letters to her friend, or journals her training experience. I do hope it improves but where I'm at it feels like a slice of life. And I will probably drop it (I don't know if this is because of the mtl)

Thus the points deducted.

The translation is very very good. Incomparable to the mtl.

Unfortunately if you decide to MTL.. It's readable but not really enjoyable, as a cultivation novel you will struggle. <<less

I just finished mtl’d the whole novel, it was so good, so fun, just overall enjoyable

I haven’t read a xianxia novel with female protagonist that has no CP that is this good in a long time!

This novel is currently my most favorite xianxia novel.

I really enjoyed the relationship between the main character with other characters. My favorite character is the MC and her master.
I laughed a lot, cried at some parts, I want to root for the MC and all of her friends.

I wished it was longer, I feel like I still cannot say goodbye to Jiang YueBai just yet. I know that the author said that continuing the novel will only make it like a routine of leveling up, but for me it’s not all about leveling up and becoming stronger, it was the relationship and the world building that were just so charming!

I learned a lot while reading this novel, Jiang YueBai is not flawless, she makes mistakes and learns from them. She accepts that she is not perfect and that the world is not perfect. She’s so curious and so naughty! But she’s so endearing and always tries her best in everything. Ah! I really like her!

This novel can be summed in one word - enlightening.

From the scrawny 6-year-old child trying to join a sect so that she can get three meals a day to literally ruling the entire world- our MC had gone on a tumultuous but rewarding journey and it's still not over. This story isn't about an overpowered MC. It's about a girl who reaches the top of the world through tons of hard work and maybe a bit of luck.

MC is truly majestic. While she is slightly naughty, loves her splendid entrances... more>> while saving the day and truly loves making her masters, elders and peers go insane, the way she does things is simply magnificent.

I love the friendship, the betrayals (don't worry not from her 2 best friends) and overall statement of humanity portrayed in this novel. It was truly a journey reading this novel, full of ups and downs.

I love how every secondary character has their own lives, their own outlooks in life and their own personalities. Perhaps it's one of the features of this novel that makes it stand apart from the millions of cultivation novels out there.

There wasn't many plotholes, not any that stood out jarringly anyway.

Loved that the MC wasn't like only 30 years old at the end of the novel even though cultivators can live literally forever. She was proper >1000 years by the end. Don't know what the obsession is for some other authors with keeping the MC super young. Like fr they are literally immortals that can look young forever.

Liked the fact that she did not have super important parents. Her family plays a negligible part in the novels and thus novel has a more found family approach instead

Spoiler

Love that the MC was just a normal born and brought up person from the cultivation world while it was another character that was transmigrated from the modern world.

[collapse]

The ending was very interesting and fun too.

Anyway, if you like a slice- of-life-esque cultivation novel with a FMC, this is a great read. <<less
