Adopted into the Ye Clan, Ye Guan is clueless about who he is and where he comes from. One day, an opportunity comes where he is acquainted with a not-so-little Little Pagoda and was bestowed a sword. Under the guidance of a Great Sword Immortal, Ye Guan is ready to take on the world. But so was his father and grandfather…In a universe with multiple realms, Ye Guan started from a very insignificant clan, in an insignificant state. With his almost god-like sword, follow Ye Guan on his journey as he makes a name for himself and finds out who he truly is. With a refreshingly straightforward personality, you can expect the unexpected when it comes to Ye Guan… For example, he makes it a point to kill his opponents before they can make any dramatic pre-war declarations.

“Ye Guan, today will be your death anniver—” Squelch! And the guy was killed…

MC: Why bother sh*t talking before a fight?

In this fast-paced novel, there’s gonna be a lot of ‘wait what?’ moments, xxx moments and blah blah blah.

The story is just way too fast, and I think it requires knowledge of "The Venerable Swordsman". Not sure why Wuxiaworld decided to translate "Almighty Sword Domain" (the first novel), then skip the 2nd, and jump to this one.

Here's an overview of the realms as of ch116:

  1. Nine Realms
  2. Xiantian
  3. Nascent Divinity
  4. Truth
  5. All Truth
  6. Divine Path
  7. Divine Soul
  8. Spacetime
  9. Space Shattering
  10. Space Annihilation
  11. Earth Law
  12. Heaven Law
  13. Minor Tribulation
  14. Major Tribulation
  15. Law Tribulation
  16. Imperial
  17. Dao Tribulation
  18. Divine Tribulation
The MC starts the novel at Truth, the 4th realm. We meet like 3 characters at Xiantian, the 2nd realm, NO ONE at the 1st and 3rd realms. So why... more>> even bother introducing them? By chapter 109, he's at Space Annihilation, the 10th realm. He's so strong he can kill people at Law Tribulation (15th realm). He's also strong enough to deflect the blow of people at Divine Tribulation (18th realm). This what I mean by the story being too fast.

The plot revolves heavily around him being the son of the strongest man and richest woman, who for some reason have disappeared. He's been raised in the lower world and has no idea of his identity, all while being looked down on by almost everyone he meets, I guess in a shitty attempt to temper him?

There's constant references to these super powerful figures, and I think they're supposed to be references to the second novel, but like I said, Wuxiaworld decided to skip it and so most readers likely have no idea who they are.

He's got the cliche "voice in his head" thing, in this particular instance it's the spirit of a pagoda treasure that once accompanied his father. The pagoda basically makes him super strong, but refuses to tell him anything about his father who is worshipped by everyone, or about his mother who runs the most powerful trading company in the universe, so it leads to a bunch of s*upid troubles that arise due to no one knowing who he is. <<less

This novel annoys the f out of me.

Spoiler

The MC is apparently the son of once the strongest man in the universe and the richest woman in the universe. So he's set for life yes? No. Because the author wanted an underdog MC, and MC who has no backer so he will be bullied by everyone and their dog, in every realm in the universe. So, how to make a silver spooner into an underdog? Easy, throw him into the lower realm and make some bullsh*t excuses about how he have to grow strong on his own. Sure there's some clan politics hinted, but the MC's mentor himself said again and again that the only reason why the parents don't provide any help is because the MC has to start from the very bottom.

Freakin bullshit. It's like Elon Musk giving up his kid for adoption without telling him who he is and without providing any help because he has to become a billionaire like his dad on his own. I'm sure the author will come up with an excuse for this later on, but from a reader's perspective who knows nothing about the back story, this sh*t doesn't make sense.

The author wanted the best of world, a good background so he can have a good story to tell, but also an underdog status because apparently, most Chinese novel readers have humiliation kink and like their MC being kicked around like a dog only to retaliate in glory later. Not me though, I like my MCs dominating and kick-ass.

Nah, just kidding. I actually don't mind a rich powerful MC, and I probably would like this novel if the MC is actually a pauper who has to work his way up from the bottom. What I don't like though is the forced drama, where the author insist of having an underdog MC to the point the whole novel becoming nonsensical.

This isn't for me, so dropped.
