"I Don't Want To Go Against The Sky." Says the title.
    • But his arrogance knows no bound, does not even respect his father who is worried about him.
    • Wasting the family money when he is not contributing even one cent.
    • Pissing his own father to get rage points.
    • His ego is over the roof.
    • He says he wants peaceful life, but pisses every family even that he can't mess around.
He thinks he is the only young master in the world who is kind, and treats every other young masters as his rage point source.

The characters of the MC is too shallow, he thinks he is the centre of the world.

And after pissing too much people, he doesn't even bother to learn martial arts. Creates all kinds of problem and dumps it on his father to solve it.

And still says he want to live a peaceful life without learning martial arts because he is lazy.

And there is the author who tries to justify the mc's every action even when it isn't.

The description is a bit misleading, he is indeed lazy and doesn't want to cultivate, but the system he got rewards him for enraging people, he happily runs around pissing off everyone he meets in order to get points and improve his stats.

The novel started out really good.

MC is shameless and lazy and has op system. Unlike other novels where MC uses every ounce of time to train, going through extreme pains to gain more power, the MC here has no such will. After all, he is a young master with really strong father. Why should he care about training? Thanks to the system he got, all he has to do is make people angry.

You might think this makes for a boring novel - kinda naive and unmotivated MC, really op system,... more>> no real danger etc. But its the comedy and MC 'genius' ways of gathering anger points. Its hilarious and nice to see the MC break the usual xianxia/wuxia mold. A young master from a powerful family making trouble? Perfect, free anger points! A young master from a powerful family not making trouble? Well, that means he has to make trouble with him, cant give up the opportunity to earn easy points!

Also loved how the novel held some concepts haven't really seen in other ones. For example, MC, thanks to his op system, levels up really fast, getting into realms many cant even touch in their whole life. It makes sense that there is no competition in his age group anymore. There is no influx of more and more genius young masters from bigger and bigger clans that can somehow keep up with MC cheats. Instead he has to face increasingly older people, as time is required to cultivate to higher realms.

Anyway, enough of the good stuff. As I stated first, the novel started out really good. So what went wrong?

Well, pretty much everything.

It started out nicely, MC slowly levels up and has to find creative ways to gain points. You could say in like ~150 chapters MC has finally breached the 1st realm, becoming very strong for his age. The idea is great, pacing is good, seems like everythings going well.

But then go forward another 150 chapter and MC is suddenly 6-7 realms higher. Literally, some realms we only learn the name, they are just skipped entirely.

And as you imagine, with higher and higher cultivation, it will mean more and more fights. At start, there really wasnt much combat. If there was, it didnt really matter.

But as the novel goes on, more and more focus is on combat, instead of the comedy of earning points. It would be fine, if the author could write exciting combat scenes. But he cant. Its literally, who can hit harder wins. Throw a fancy name or two but in the end its still who can punch stronger wins.

The whole spiel of the novel is that MC can learn techniques instantly with the system, but that literally doesnt matter. In the end its still gonna be enemy attacks, MC attacks, MC attack is stronger, enemy gets defeated. Or if MC is weaker, he just stacks every ability together and hits stronger.

How I wished it was similar to The way of the devil, where MC physique changes as he learns more techniques. But no, MC can learn 100 different body technique, but the only change that he gets is that he is stronger now.

So overall, the novel started out well, but lost its original idea in the process. Still worth reading tho. <<less

There were some laughs at the start, and the concept is a nice change from the typical Wuxia. However, the system he has depends on angering people, which starts off as harassment, then turns to actually torturing people, and the MC has no moral qualms about it. I don't really enjoy stories when the MC is sociopathic.

This is exactly the kind of MC that would be killed by our boy in The Protagonists are mu*dered by me. The only reason he is alive is because he is the MC. I have also seen one or two novels where MC gets points when he angers people but the personality of this MC is just insufferable. He keeps yapping on about how he is a young master and he can spend the money however he wants and anger whomever he wants but forgets that young masters also have... more>> limits. Its not like he is the son of the strongest being in the universe or something. I also don't understand how he doesn't realize that he is wasting money his family doesn't even have. I applaud the willpower of people who have actually managed to read this novel to about 200-400chaps thinking it might improve. <<less

2 stars are for the few laughs I had in the beginning.

Started out well but it becomes completely boring as you read on. At the point where I am at, there is zero comedy, zero suspense, and zero emotions which could keep the reader bound to the story.

The fights are boring as hell, and the process of earning rage points, which was super interesting and comedic, has become a drag. The MC requires no legendary herbs, no treasures, no nothing and simply relies on the overpowered system to become the... more>> strongest in the worlds.

In fact, I personally am a huge fan of overpowered MCs, but the one in this novel is beyond being merely overpowered. He starts out well initially, but suddenly, his cultivation speed shoots through the roof and he is now as strong as the strongest powerhouses. The author seems to have rushed the story in this regard.

Thereare no description of the surroundings other than a few perfunctory words, which could have added well to the imagination of the reader. There seem to be no emotional attachments other than the MC and his manservant. Even his interactions with his father seems to have become bland. Introduction to a girl or two could add more flavour to the story.

The protagonist seems to have sh*t for brains. He calls himself smart but is no more than a pig. The only reason, I believe, he and his close ones could survive is because of ultra-sturdy-cum-massive plot armours and the system. <<less

A decent novel to read. I personally feel that the average rating is more or less on point (I rate it slightly lower). The novel is more or less about an arrogant young master who has heaven-defying cheats and luck. The first half of the novel is really funny and was a 5-star for me but as the story progresses, the plot device seems to be recycled over and over again. Also, I felt that many times the arrogance of the MC comes back to haunt him and his surroundings.... more>> Ngl, I actually like the supporting characters more than the MC. <<less

First 300 chapter had some parts that made me laugh. Last 300 chapters were read just for the sake of ending the story. Although the story might bring a new perspective in terms of the MC it does nothing after that. Even the romance was done in like 2 chapters. Overall it's an ok read to pass the time but not really recommend.

Most of the reviews talk about how him angering people is annoying, and I agree with that to a certain point. When he started off it was funny and then a bit excessive and I actually hated the MC a bit. But aftera while he started to grow a bit and we can see that his character developed a little and he wasn't as immature. If you've read other lin fan novels then you know what to expect. Comedy and action. I give it a 3-4 stars

It's a fun to read this novel. The Protagonist is arrogant and decisive. The story is good and didn't missed out many things. The ending was good too although, there was no mention of what happened to those 3 pillar gods or ancient god. There is no romance or harem.

At times quite funny, specially in the start. Written in a comic undertone, downplaying the viciousness of MC. Not much else to dislike or complain about. I like the ending.

While a decent novel I found myself losing interest towards the end of the novel. I found that not much was happening in the chapters it really was just the same thing repeating.

Spoiler

I thought the last chapter brought everything to a good end and most things got explained.

I think its worth trying even with all the problems.

This author is the very epitome of "having read one is having read all". Sadly I don't mean that in any positive way, although that should be implicit.

Every single novel of his has the same character, "lin fan" and that's down to his personality traits. Sure, there are some tiny differences like bottom lines or morals they go by, but essentially all of them act exactly the same, being arrogant, self-absorbed, narcissistic, hypocritical, random, reckless, morally and intelligently bankrupt douchebags that loves riling people up and messing with others.

That's the... more>> whole selling point though and it leaves room for a lot of black humor gags, toilet humor, s*x humor and general unreasonable behavior that can be seen as absurd. I've had a lot of laughs reading this authors' works, but as I've read 4 now (valiant life, strongest system, I don't want to defy the heavens, it's lonely to be invincible) it has just gotten old far ago. This novel in particular is a fairly bad one.

The whole thing is about a lazy douche version of lin fan that has no ambitions. He gets a super easy system and makes people angry to extremely rapidly cultivate. Starts off slow and with some creativity at the first 100-200 chapters and I had a fair bit of laughs, after that it's just endless brute force and single-minded recklessness, just incredibly boring. I'm not sure if I'm proud or disgusted of myself for having endured all the way to 660. The laughs just got more and more sparse until I couldn't wait for it to end the last 300 chapters.

It's him seeking an easy life, one of the most boring goals I've ever seen in a novel.
Spoiler

Sadly, there's no "world above" either here, although there are worlds on similar levels, I guess that would go against the whole idea of him wanting to just laze about, so as soon as he reaches the most OP where he is, of course it's going to end. Yay for useless cultivation

[collapse]

To be honest, from my experience, do NOT read this. It's not worth it, it's one of his shabbier works and you can see from the ratings that pretty much none of his novels are that popular. I can only recommend "the strongest system" if you want to try his novels, the rest are pretty much garbage, all of them. If you've read "the strongest system", you've seen everything this author has to offer. Even for that novel I don't really recommend reading until more than when the protagonist ascends from the start world, similar to this novel it loses steam after that.

This author really deserves the title "king of flogging a dead horse" with his characters that are the same across all novels and telling the same joke over and over again until you get annoyed instead of laugh. At least "the strongest system" made some effort to create a variety of different gags, in this novel it's just the same thing over and over again and there's no attachment or interest in any character, not even the protagonist himself, no character even really gets any decent exposure either. Only the start was a bit funnier but it honestly wasn't that fun either, better to just re-read strongest system and get a better experience even if you've read it before. Most of this novel deserves a 1/5 but I'll reluctantly give it a 2/5 since I got some laughs at the first 100-200 chapters. I'm still confused about how every single time he sets up a campfire to eat, someone or some people intrudes upon him to share the night and they're either mysterious people or randoms that doesn't matter. He simply can't catch a break and have a quiet night out camping to himself. So shallow. <<less

Start out kinda interesting, but become shitty in the middle.

The MC got a system which reward him with pissing off people. The premise itself is kinda generic (I have seen many others novel with this plot). I thought that this would be a good read to waste time since I know other novel with this plot, but I got pissed off with MC attitude at the middle.

He keep yapping about how he got OP papa, he is a young master of some family, etc. so he can do anything he... more>> want, you know like some third rate villain that will be killed by the protagonist. The difference here is that he is the MC.

I thought that there will be character development for the MC shitty attitude... Buuuut Nope, until chapter 100-ish no such thing happens. I don't know whether there will be down the road, but I can't continue reading this insufferable piece of sh*t MC.

I usually enjoy reading OP MC story, like some cheesy-reincarnated-MC-thrown-away-by-king-revenge-story, or some cheesy-reincarnated-MC-got-unexplainable-system-story. But this... nah pass from me. <<less

How, f*cking, long- since I ever read a novel completely...

So this one's a journey, it's hella good and hella respectful to all of its being (a novel). Xin Feng got me mad with his two other he has, but this one was definitely the one of him going beyond all that.

-Really, really short.

... more>> Amazing, sure- so enjoyable, sure sure. And though its bad side is where there's a couple of plots with great potential and development left to the void, it all still be great.

As for world building, truly nice- it isn't an actually stunning one but it's instead made simple and without weird complications; "these are stronger now because of this, now not anymore, now these are the really stronger ones", very well done.

And skills may not have a enormous importance and significance for every battle, but that's because it's not blindly following as other mediocre novels do, this one goes ahead to whoever's d*ck is nicer gets the treatment and nothing else.

Romance was unimaginable good, it was just so short, so simple, so authentic and nothing forcing plot behind the scenes (any author's brain) for whenever it's obvious the novel be going boring. Mostly because it didn't needed to. Beautifully done.

Things to consider are: It humiliates all boring-yes man-mediocre advances and plot devices whenever there's a situation and... is developed well, it be short, some times funny and just relaxing still to read through.

Rage points became unnecessary for US to know about since the novel isn't about getting rage points but a dude who s*upidly died and then decided that his next life would be 0 worry, 0 lack of money full fun and carefree until death, but is forced to become the daddy protagonist we sometimes need after reading about mc's where they can't even beat someone of lower level- yikes...

Masterpiece. <<less

Actually it's fun to read, full of comedies on angering people around. Though it's quite cruel to destroy that Alliance, they deserved it.

Spoiler

For the family fighting, it was just an act for them. Their families increased tax heavily on commoners, and not accepting the commoners because they are preparing the war against the Alliance at that time.

At the start you can see that MC lazing around and relying on his/her cousin. But they separated later, and after that he knows himself well and focus gathering rage points. (Ch620+ they reunited).

Basically after separating from his cousin, from the starts of the wars against Alliance the MC became a little independent. Oh, the comedies where MC like to throwing sh*t on Alliance's general is funny.

I'm taking a quick break from my work just to say that this novel is interesting in itself even tho the start is not really convincing..

I like reading novels from Lord of the common people and xin feng ultimate scheming system and the strongest system.

I like OP and creative comedy and in fantasy I like especial and interesting scenarios and adventure other novels I like these novels are my taste:

... more>> super gene, reincarnation of the sword God, inadvertent invincible, Ace of the dragon division, etc

I was going to drop the novel because so far the story is really kinda slow and strangely awkward at times.. Honestly not what I expected from this author so far.

But this author always start slow and builds up from there very good.. The issue here is that the start is not at the level is other works I have read from him.

Look being honest here the novel is really good the only bad thing for me is at the start the character is not super op but what I like about xing Feng is that he really builds up the people making it worth the read.

I don't know what number this novel is but other thing to take into consideration is that this novel grammar is akward my suspicion is that this is one of the early novels of his..

Also author just had a newborn kid at the start of the novel hehe, and even he said it was hard too.

So far I'm on chapter 133. The story getting noticable better. I mean I kinda look forward to what happens and the events become desirable and are fulfilling more their potential.

I mean for other novels they had this start I would go and never turn back. This Nobel and this author worth it. If I abandon it I'll report. But I don't think so really.

Also I skipped the 110-129~ish chapters just because I'm really selfish with my time and when I'm not doing my work I feel bad..

Hard spoiler but not definite; just read if you are curious about the novel itself

Spoiler

also apparently this Lin fan does not absorb the cultivation or spells of people he kills.

It seems this novel is a try from xinfeng to make not so op system.. But I'm not sure..

For 100 chapters the MC is stuck in that city the whole time only to get kicked out afterwards with two from the rival families...

The system he has is interesting enough but the power levels when contending with MC's father is a bit perplexing.

Spoiler

As for the cousin... translation defines them to be a girl but feels like a guy given the cruelty behind their actions. Like carrying a limbless creature out in public on their back? Making human sausages...

[collapse]

Its obvious that the story won't ramble off plot to milk revenue.
