This novel's direction really disappointed me. I mean the MC was immortal but still went through the same BS as other MCs from wuxia novels. It feels pointless to battle constantly when you don't fear death but always freaks out and runs away in the face of strong opponents.

What I genuinely enjoyed the most wasn't the novel but the heavenly lord Xin Feng's (author) story progression. It was more interesting than game of thrones.

The author never fails to create an amusing protagonist and story that continues to be entertaining throughout.

This novel is very similar to Way of the Devil - but more comedic and slower paced. The protagonist is a 'good guy' to people he likes and a 'bad guy' to people he doesn't- not hesitating to kill people who get on his nerves- I rather like that the MC is so non-chalant towards mu*der as he seems to be in most of this author's works and the author always gives the MC... more>> a valid reason to mu*der, such as item drops (inadvertently invincible) or in this novel points the MC can use to upgrade his abilities.

I read up to 298 and enjoyed all of it. I'll be back in five-ten years to finish off all the novels from this author, as currently A Valiant Life (my third favourite novel of all time) is the only completed translated work by this author so far, unfortunately.

This is a good read but as some might suggest, it can seem 2-dimensional and this is true with all of this author's novels, AT FIRST, but this author has the amazing ability to remember characters, that you thought of as flat and shallow, that appeared for one chapter 300 chapters ago and make that character into an important plot piece, constantly making you think 'Oh damn, so that's why!' - This author plans their novels well and it shows in their ability to continue producing works, as opposed to most authors who write a single work, very slowly, with plot holes galore. <<less

Average garbage cheat chinese cultivation novel

One good thing I have to say about this novel is that there is no romance so far, a lot of beautiful friends and enemies but most of them end up dead or just as background characters. The MC is a lunatic that only cares about fighting and growing stronger, he does as he please and it is quite entertaining.

This is a sequel to the strongest system!?

It is very bad, as the author never uses immortality as the whole plot thing. He just uses a regular power fantasy psychopath MC but this time with a catch, he is immortal. It is disappointing as the strongest system works because Lin Fan used the system a lot and many things about the system are explored. Love this author's humour, I really can't get enough. The main character Lin Fan this time isn't a smart guy, quite simple in fact, but blessed with immortality. His journey involves a lot of dying, beating people into meat paste, and stealing treasures, all this in the pursuit of absolute power. I especially enjoyed the relations between his teacher, sect brothers and how he goes about destroying his enemies mentally then physically. Give this a read if you like humour, violence and fireworks lol. 4.5*
