Crazy leveling system?

More Like Crazy Bland Novel.

No emotions, no character development, no human interaction. Just an MC who lvl up pretty fast, except later in the story where he need to gather a crazy amount of xp. Then it become Slow leveling system.

MC is bland, love interest is bland, enemies are bland, power levels are in a mess.

The only good thing about this novel is the translators.

I dont even have words to describe it.

Sigh....

This novel is more repetitive than MGA

Basically the whole novel is MC pissing off people more powerful than him, they show up at his sect where his aunt be like "ill be you s*ave daddy"

then MC show up like "WHO'S s*ave YOU GONNA BE?" then kicks someone to death then they be like "NANI!!!? So stwong fworgive me master"

then MC kills them leaves then pisses someone else off repeat

Writing a review at chapter 2 is normally very s*upid because almost all of the times, there isn't enough informations to write one. But for this novel it's clearly enough and when it's the case, this mean that it's not good at all! If not for the concept that I like, I would have rated 1 star and not 2.

Spoiler

The MC can't train martial arts because if he do, then he will die (like the original owner of the body who took the risk)..... But exactly like the original owner, the MC trained in martial arts... FOR A FEW YEARS !!!!!!! and he's not dead, just a little weakened. (and for nothing if not for the habit because he can't raise his cultivation)

From what happened in these 2 chapters, I don't know how the Palace managed to survive until now.... There are internal conflicts, external ingerances and spies everywhere.....

For the internal conflicts, the MC's mother was the previous leader but because she broke a s*upid rule she flew away from the palace. And because of that the MC is hated by everyone in the Palace exept from his maid and the new leader (how convenient). This latter used a lot of his influence to keep the MC, thus creating a lot of dissatisfaction. What's more, the leader spent a lot of resources on the MC for, seemingly, nothing and thus add even more dissatisfaction.

For the external ingerences, as of now, a Sect (more powerful than a Palace, but not too much either) pressure the Palace...... A lot!!!! It's logic that the strong pressure the weaks, but it must be within limits (to not lead the weaks into a rebellion) like when reclaming some "protection fees" (which they do) if you see what I mean ^^ But here they even force the Palace to accept some of their disciples in the Palace and train them as if they were the Palace's disciples. And they, apparently, have a small camp next to the Palace to monitor them.

And last, the Spies. Like said ahead, there are some disciples of the Sects in the Palace and they are here to use the Palace resources and martial arts to cultivate (it's literally daylight robbery)... And perhaps also to create problems because they seems to do that very well :-/ (they didn't hesitate to bully the MC to rob a precious pill even when they know the pill is the leader one and that the MC is overprotected by the leader)

And finally the system..... There is nothing to say about the system itself (it's a normal system) but the system needed some gathering of energy to be activated..... It's that the problem.... Usually, the system is either already with the MC or the MC trigger the system and reveal it (like killing a beast, another person, mastering a technique,...) BUT NEVER WILL IT BE AN ENERGY PROBLEM !!!! Because either the energy is taken from the transmigration and thus the System is already with the MC from the very beginning or either the energy needed is so tremendous that only a very very very........ very very powerful being or phenomenon can gather so much energy (I mean it's a heaven defying system!!!!!) And no, nobody will convince me that some tr*sh pills and medicines (even for a few years) and a somewhat usefull one (to be available by the lowest organization possible, it mustn't be as high level as these country bumpkins think it is) can do it :-/

[collapse]

And when the start is as tr*shy as that, you generaly can't expect more from the rest of the story. I mean, the start is supposed to be one of the most worked part in a novel so if it's bad, you can only imagine what will happen with less worked parts.

I'll continue to read and if it became better then perhaps I will made another review but I don't expect much.... And thanks to all who read my review :-)

EDIT :

Just finished ch 3... Even with how bad ch 1 and 2 were, I wasn't prepared for this..... I regret my 2 stars now, 1 star is already too much :' (Not a single thing in the chapter is right / logical. It would just be a loss of time to go further ahead. <<less

This is the third ever series that's inspired me to read on a mtl site. I've read up to chapter 549 and I did this through a whole week.

Should you read this novel?

Do you like levelling?

Do you hate when the MC faces opponents that are higher cultivation than himself?

Do you love an overpowered protagonist?

I sure do - therefore I read this novel on mtl.

Spoiler

MC practically never has lost a fight so far... He also doesn't quite have a spouse yet, so don't trust the wiki of crazy levelling system. The MC is a cultivation maniac and in the 500s, he's achieved the late stages (6-10) of realm 6, Void Spirit. Something I personally enjoy is how he doesn't nonstop face opponents who are a higher realm than himself, it adds depth to novel as you realise that the world isn't full of genius', some being very weak even if in a Rank 3, 4 or 5 influence.

Influences are divided into five grades (so far)

1st grade - Palace (realms are usually at max realm three, Core condensation)

2nd grade - Sect (realms are usually at max realm four, Spirit Core)

3rd grade - Mansion (realms are usually at max realm five, Spirit Transformation)

4th grade - Empire (realms are usually at max realm six, Void Spirit - there was an instance of a rank seven being in an empire)

5th grade - Divine Nation (Realms are usually at max realm eight, Saint King)

Though Realm 9s, Divine Kings are mentioned, it's said that there currently are none and only exist in the Heaven world.

There being three worlds: Ghost World, Mortal World, Heaven World.

I can't say I'm amazed at the bullsh*t the author putting in to get it to 2000 chapters. (Sarcasm) I did enjoy some of the foot licking and ass kissing action from the elders and the tr*sh disciples though. Also let's not forget the 180 degree flip when the MC shows that he's can kill them in one hit or that his power is over 9000.

*Most important keywords: c*ckcroch, tr*sh, last but the most popular: lick my feet or die, or you will die.

I can't imagine how that society can... more>> exist with all that you know what.

I would give this 5 stars if the MC just keep killing the crazyone in the story to save the world, but inst he keeps hunting cute beast which is the most of the time is the wrong choice here. <<less

Only read this if you want:

  • a 2 dimensional character who is basically like a video game
  • has ditzy girls fawning all over him constantly (quasi-harem, but never went into real harem)
  • endless face slapping
  • super arrogant MC with no real redeeming qualities, basically suffering a severe case of eighth grade syndrome.
I tolerated it for over 80 chapters because I was bored... but it couldn't alleviate my boredom and just annoyed me... so I'm dropping it since it's an utter waste of time.

1 star - which is entirely for the translator... not the... more>> author or the story. <<less

this is really boring.

true to it's title, the MC's system is super OP and bends over backwards to power up the MC.

No emotions, no character development, no human interaction. Just an MC who lvl up pretty fast, except later in the story where he need to gather a crazy amount of xp. Then it become Slow leveling system.

sadly, every arc follows the same formula where the MC uses the system to become the strongest, and then meet stronger people, get whooped, MC uses system to get stronger, whoop back the... more>> bad guys and goes to a bigger, stronger place where the entire arc is repeated over and over again.

there is nothing that stands out in this novel besides how boring it is and how repetitive it gets. <<less

I would have rated this novel 4 stars but there's a couple things made it so that I lowered my rating by one star.

  1. The cultivation system is unclear. Since the MC is using a system (he probably could still cultivate without it, albeit way slower) he gets xp and level up by killing people and beasts, and since he has no friends the author didn't even bother to explain what the realms are. Just kill people and breakthrough, no need to do anything else.
  2. Like most novel with a system, the MC is always complaining about the system being cheap even though he gets almost everything he could ever want from it. He complain about unreasonable price in the system shop even though he can buy godly stuff with the points he get from killing, which he would do anyway (with each kill he gets xp, cultivation technique, battle skills, crazy points, sin points, material, etc..).
  3. Every time something happens the MC arrive at the last second, so we're stuck reading a full chapter or two about some tr*sh bullying people weaker than them until they almost lose all hope, then the MC comes around without exposing his power so everyone think he's just a random weak dude who's seeking death and get stunned once the MC start killing people that "he has no chance against".

Yeah, I can't recommend this series to anyone, like it's way, way, way, way, way, way to repetitive and I'm not even exaggerating, the same thing happens again and again.

The MC farms like mad and become insanely powerful insanely fast by only relying on the system (like there is no self cultivation, everything is done with the system) ->

the MC meets a chick, he helps/saves her (the MC makes us readers and that chick think that there is a possibility for her to be a harem member) ->

MC farms... more>> even more and unlocks some op as hell armors, that can make him a one man army (and the thing with the armor I'm not even kidding, like as he becomes stronger he unlocks more powerful versions of the same armors, the author is to lazy to add new unique armors) ->

something dramatic happens, MC appears in the last moment and saves the day ->

the chick that he meet in the past is reintroduced only to be completely ignore for the rest of the series since the MC is obsessed with his aunt (don't get me wrong, I have nothing against a loyal MC with only 1 wife, but it annoys me how he tricked both us and those females that there is a possibility for a relationship, only to end with nothing, like later on the MC can clearly tell that all heroines that he saved have feeling for him, but even so he completely ignores them) ->

MC goes to a new place (like at the beginning he goes to another continent, while later on he goes to higher dimensions) -> now rinse and repeat

This is basically the whole story. This series also has little character development, or world development, like the cultivation system isn't delved into that deep since the MC has no use for it whatsoever, since he only relies on his system. The MC is also more or less invincible like he never meets an opponent he can't defeat and most times he fights entire armies of cultivators at the same realm of cultivation by himself, with those op cheat like armors that he can buy from the system.

Overall its a series that's fairly interesting at the beginning, but it will become boring pretty fast since there is no deep plot, story or development (you can't get immersed in the series, since most of the times it's all about the MC farming) and everything repeats again and again. And a pretty funny thing is how the author just gives up on counting the lvl of power of his skills later on in the series, like in the first couple of hundred chapters the author uses numbers to classify the power of his skills (take as an example Ancient Strengthening Technique) , even more I also did the math to some of his skills at the beginning and a couple of them were wrong :)))).

I gave it 2 stars since at the beginning at least it's a fairly decent series, at least compared to the other series of this genre. <<less

Novel is a complete mess. I have zero clue how any of these sects are still alive. Every single one of them does not cultivate, they all go around various cities and openly make as many enemies as possible.

Honestly, this takes chinese tropes to a whole new level. Various top-level figures (relatively) make enemies of many people for no reason at all. This even happens at various business places. It's literally the number one rule in business to not piss off customers. This is especially so when a random old... more>> man could be a high-level cultivator, why does no one in this novel have common sense.

Alright, and the main character. Jesus christ hes a mess. He doesn't actually go about the normal ways of dealing with enemies. Normally, when you make an enemy, you would get rid of them. However, in this novel the main character for some reason doesn't do that. Perfect example is the blacksmith Kong. He purposefully made an enemy with a Palace, drove the main character out of a business place, and the main character tried driving the business place out of business. This has already gone to a life-or-death grudge, so why doesn't the main character just kill him already, he knows it's just going to cause more problems, such a mess. Also, despite having a "Crazy Leveling System" the main character for some reason doesn't focus on leveling.

Overall, sh*t novel, terrible plot, characters are 2d, they either treat the main character like a God or they treat him like tr*sh. Don't recommend this to anyone. <<less

Sorry for bad grammar,

Initially good for the story, the MC is not too arrogant and a lot of bullshit, if you meet the enemy just hit and finish it mercilessly because they deserve it, but as the story progresses there are changes in the MC, the MC becomes too arrogant and every fight starts to have a lot of to much bullsh*t that should not be necessary, try to imagine 3 chapters only for bullsh*t between the MC and the enemy, underestimating his opponent, letting the enemy go and... more>> then the result is that the enemy attacks his strength again and again, and the plot keeps repeating itself. Only 3 stars because the initial story was interesting and then turned boring when the MC felt the story writing was different from the initial storyline. <<less

Novels with game elements and OP MC are my favourite. And that's why I'm enjoying this novel. The MC is ruthless and doesn't take sh*t from anybody, too, which is a bonus. (ꈍᴗꈍ)
Although the enemies that appear are brainless, and court death, it is satisfying when the MC bit*h slaps them (sometimes quite literally). ♪~ (´ε`)
Don't expect an outstanding writing style, or amazing unique plot. No! This is a cliche leveling up novel. But that's why I'm reading it and love it. (◕ᴗ◕✿)
It's a casual, fun read, nothing more, nothing less! ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭

I like the setting with game like systems thrashing cultivators but the few novels I found including this one are all written childishly and lazily without slightest effort or thought into it. Wasted potential.

But if you can endure the beginning chapters, the rest of the novels doesn't get worse than this (as of chapter 63). MC still is satisfyingly OP and the leveling system stays true to its nature. So it is a decent light reading. 5 stars to encourage more novels with game-like system in cultivation world.

This novel isn't anything special, quite repetitive but wasn't bad per se. At least, until around chapter 200-250. The writing quality dropped super hard from then, as every side character the MC interacts with becomes a case of "He did this as he explains that.", "She said this and did that." While it's nice that it speeds the progression of the story, it does it at the price of killing the quality of every scenario happening. Several conversations get skipped without a single dialogue occurring, and it's turned into a... more>> really half-assed attempt at story telling. <<less

This is amazingly bad.

The overall plot is this: MC keeps killing people (arrogant fodder mobs) to earn fabulous amount of exp and level up his cultivation, craftsmanship and alchemy at ridiculous speed and amaze everyone.

The author also do away with the "mastery" system his introduced and just skip it over with 1-2 chapters.

There is NOTHING ELSE in the story but killing people in a couple hits and amaze everyone.

Critical Rating: 2

Personal Enjoyment: 3

... more>> What to expect?

This novel follows the same exact formula with a scaling "leveling system" after the prologue is done. Expect instant gratification and zero losses for the MC.

MC will face an adversary that is against him and he will always win in one to two chapters. Male characters are 8 times out of 10 arrogant, evil masters that get face slapped and become exp for our MC. Female characters are 9 times out of 10 damsels that fall in love with MC before quickly being forgotten once their arc is concluded. Romance may as well not be a tag for this novel.

Characters?

I would write what characters to keep track of here, but honestly you don't really need to remember their names. Only the first important female character, the aunt, stays relevant and everyone else just gets cycled through once their arc is done. I mean..

Spoiler

They introduced the girl who protected him for most of his childhood when he was weak and quickly wrote her off once he started getting powerful. The aunt is the only one that manages to stay decently powerful by growing quickly and the rest get the leftovers. He doesn't really help any of his allies once their arc is done unless the system rewards him. Speaking of which, the MC was reincarnated here if I remember correctly. This hasn't been a plot point at all. He never mentions anything about his past nor does he take advantage of this as of where I stopped.

[collapse]

Should you read it?

Personally, I stopped at a point where most of the initial challenges and adversaries were defeated and I judging from what I hear about how repetitive the rest of the chapters are... I'm good for now. <<less

It is overall a good read. It isn't like other system novels which only need experience to level up, here MC has to comprehend dao to breakthrough in many situations. Cultivation is very fast at the beginning but slows down considerably when he reaches saint king and cultivation in God's Territory takes tens of years for single breakthrough. And last but not the least MC is fckin overpowered, his battle prowess leaps through a whole realm (10 stages).

Plot- 3.5

World building- 3.5

Enjoyable.....

was pretty much a novel to deal with your boredom but it turned into something that makes you bored and annoyed, like was ok with all this s*upidity but when it turned into s*xual ab*se and MC thinking that him taking advantage of someone means he is joking.. well yeah, is something wrong this these CN novels seeing the MC slapping someone's ass like a ''joke'' I don't see what's funny about that.. all I see is the MC sexually abusing someone... it literally turned into those typical harem novels.
