I read this a couple of years ago but the only thing I wrote in my notes was "lots of cliches but an interesting end. 3.5 (extra.5 for the afterwards)." I reread and yes, this story is very formula and if you've read more than 2 other book wear entertainment danmei you will easily see it.

that being said, it's an easy and quick read with a little dogs blood and lots of dog food and a satisfying ending.

I didn't rate the story, I rated the relationship.

I like that MC is older not just on paper, but he actually has a more mature personality. Even though he's playful and a bit of an internet addict, he is very good at handling social situations, is unfazed by unexpected turns of events and is generally more stable and down-to-earth than ML. He has a decent EQ, not only when it comes to romance, but in all other relationships too (like his first agent).

Also, I loved ML's respect and obedience to MC. It wasn't like a puppy blindly who listens to his master, but rather a young man, who knows that the other has more experience in some areas and isn't stubborn to accept advice from those who care about him. Even ML's grandfather notices that he became more mature and less aggressive after getting together with MC.

Maybe I'm biased, but any novel with a relationship that diverges from overused templates and isn't toxic will get an additional 2 stars to its rating.

It's a nice novel. The conflict wasn't too much and the plot flows well.

I like the relationship between the leads. When they realized they like each other, they didn't turn a blind eye to it. They didn't hide or turned away from those feelings. And what I also like was the matter of the original shou, in this novel this was just a side detail. I like how the author didn't focus too much to it. Good read, got bored half way tho.

I feel like there are major plot holes in the novel and lots of thing are skipped over, such as what about MC's original body's family? ML's grandpa death that is suppose to happen? The original shou why in sec life is he with ML's friend and ML's brother.

A sweet story about showbiz and love. What was particulary refreshing here was to see the actor MC being very mature and calm about his work and reception. He educated fellow young actors and his own assistant several times regarding the proper way to conduct yourself when in public and when acting, giving good advice that is very rarely seen in novels of this type, such as not to speak behind a person's back even if it is praise that is given. This novel is light-hearted and humorous. It absolutely has no entanglement and drama, so it fully belongs in the category of "easy" reading. Tbh I didn't think that I'd enjoy the light-hearted mood of it, but I ended up reading most of it with a smile. Glazing over the possible flaws. I know there are a few.

Some of the parts that can influence your reading experience to me can be borderline, like feeling it's good or bad depends is solely subjective. I only would like to note some.

Shallowness of description. When it comes to details there are basically very little to mention. E.g. You have no idea about the main business of the Lu family, the film company is just a subsidy. Usually only general term are used, so there is no in-depth. Next is the conflict of brothers of the Lu family. Author included it only to show how ML transforms from quite aggressive person, to someone who let go of his past and became smoother. But honestly, there is no depth to the "family drama", since they're just acting like that, mostly the excuse used is that parents are partial to the eldest, while granpda cares for ML, which makes their family situation sound silly. Basically there is no deep dive into anything, this includes conflicts, possible scandals (since they're glazed over and reverse happens pretty fast) and, unfortunately, tv drama/movies descriptions really don't get you excited, since they're shallowly described as well. Sometimes it gets into more details, but mostly you get only general idea, but those tv series and movies become big hits. It's a pity you don't actually get impressed that much.

Koi physique. The emphasis of the story is that the MC became much luckier than in previous life, but it wasn't used that much. Except luck in draws (that were nicely used in the story, like draws during a show and it created a comedy effect how it had to be changed with someone else) or something that helped his personal connections (for example, the movie queen he filmed with, she always wanted a child and he wished her having one soon and she became pregnant in the end, so he became a godfather of the kid, but also she has a high coffee position in the entertainment world, so she helped to push him in recommendations, while talking how good he is as a person), when finished you realize that it can be called lucky, but also it's tightly connected to personal relationships and hard work and also his connection to ML as epitome of both, of course ML just gave him the chance and he utilized it, so the smooth career is half and half depends. And I'm not that mad at that, because it has more positive image that MC just getting things by luck.

Romance. It's all sweet cookies, but also again no entanglement. Good thing, no forcing or being an overbearing president, since they have an age difference, before ML matured he developed a habit of acting like a baby. At first MC knows the plot, though it a bit contradicts what ML says about his previous life, that's why he waits for the "protag shou", while he also feels sorry for ML in many ways, so he tries to accomodate and pour in some good feelings into him, which resulted in his continued care that made ML fall in love and cross the border. They act lovely, supportive of each other etc. At least they don't do anything that would make me roll my eyes. So they fell naturally, the only thing that was in-between was the plot, but funnily MC made a decision and switched quite quickly when heard that supposed protag shou was dating the director he knows. It was humorous and ironic to me, since a lot of drama in novels is dedicated to one of the character who knows the plot being too concerned about it and not daring to move or claim things as yours etc.

Length of the story. It's my personal opinion, you can agree or not, but I think that the story could be better if it was a bit shorter. Sometimes when you get daily interactions as watery details or try to shove many stories to be filmed, but they get a shallow description, it makes the story sound a bit long, at least after 70+ chapters I started to feel it that way. It's not really a bad thing, but for a novel where you don't go in-depth it does feel a bit long to me.

Routines. I admit most of things are not new and mostly many routines that are abundant in such novels are present. If you don't like those, definitely it will tire you.

Although these are things that could be questioned and as I previously said, subjectively put into good or bad, but I still enjoyed the light-heartedness of this story, which surprised me. The easy and light feeling of it was the driving force that made me read till the end. <<less

I really love this story so far, it's very cute~ our MC is a transmigrator (27 yo) and our ML is reborn (20??? yo). Although we don't know what kind of unfortunate circumstances the ML went through before rebirth, and although he describes himself as an 'evil spirit'... he's actually not that bad. Despite having blackened, he wanted to make up for his misplaced revenge against the cannon fodder after rebirth...

Unfortunately the MC perceives there to be a 10 year age difference and continuously spews paternal feelings toward the ML lol. Then again, the MC was originally a child actor, so when dealing with his coworkers and his fans, he's just like "Dad loves you~~~" It's very sweet and funny.

Even so, there's a lot to imply that the MC is aware at least subconsciously that his feelings toward the ML aren't in line with an elder. The ML is much more aware of his own feelings, even panicking at one point that he's not prepared to meet the MC's parents lmao.

I don't read a lot of entertainment circle novels so I can't weigh in on how common the cliches are, but so far this book is very refreshing and easy to read. I really wanted to MTL it, but I guess I have to wait for the translator~ but I'm happy to, it's a cute book and the translation is very clean and clear! <<less
