The character he raised was a completely useless one which couldn’t even be used to see the ending, in other words, a total failure.

Not impossible, but refused…? It was absurd for a moment.

He woke up in a strange swamp in the middle of nowhere. As the very loser he had raised. “…In the first place, I wasn’t downloading anything illegal.”

A dark era running towards destruction. A survival story of a complete loser in order to return safely.

Pretty interesting story with good pace and interesting characters, translation is pretty decent too. All in all its worth reading if you like the isekai genre. Also no harem which is a plus in for me.

Simple review

Main character 3/5: He acts cold, but he's not really (sadly). The quests act as an excuse for him to be good, but even in dialogue it's annoying how he sometimes comes off as kind.

Side characters 2.5/5: Not that interesting, because it's almost always the case that whoever he interacts with is somehow super important to the plot. It doesn't help that the novel skips past all the mob enemies that he beats at the beginning, so it's almost like he's always fighting more bosses than normal mobs. Like,... more>> is there anyone that's not some sort of a super corrupted kingdom destroyer.

The main story 2.5/5: Problem somewhat related to the characters, but everyone he meets seems to be involved somehow in the main plot, like, where are the background characters. Isn't this based on a game where the MC skipped a bunch of side content.

World background and lore 3.5/5: Not much yet. We have a kingdom, some corruption, gods, secret plot, but it's mostly surface level as of this chapter.

Translation/writing 4/5: Seems fine to me.

Overall: Good for those starting to read korean novels, but otherwise still very similar to other korean novels in substance.

Note: Koreans can't write any true villains and barely even remotely cold characters. <<less

Great story. Using chatgpt and editing really makes this enjoyable.

The first two arcs have been great, where the side characters are built thoroughly, the power system is well establish and enough tension to make the climaxes feel worth while.

I especially like the adventure portion of it. It is not like a typical KN and instead reads like a modern dark western fantasy. Where there are evolving stakes, issues that need a group to tackle and just enough grimness to not be over-burdening.

So if you want to read a more mature... more>> fic, this might be for you. A sense of seriousness that you can't find with a lot of KNs and a original plot. Though the MC is on a trend of soloing bosses, but with legit reasons as to why.

It's a really good story.

But the conversations are juvenile.

The translation quality is abysmal (ippotranslations).

... more>> They admit that it's mostly mtl, but getting basic English grammar right and a little bit of proofreading quality is not too much to ask. Is it?

Especially when you repeatedly ask for donations...

The stars are solely for the story. It'd be less than 1* if you factor in the translation quality.

Now, to the story.

It's dark, there are some misunderstandings. But there's no abundance of women falling for the MC out of nowhere.

There is one useless female knight who happens to be a dead weight. But he gets rid of that dead weight soon enough.

Well. It's still early in the story. So can't say if it'd stay good.

The plot seems interesting for a dark fantasy transmigration. <<less

A simplest fantasy adventure story, told at extremely steady pace.

Just a guy, travelling in a dark setting, slaying evil creatures and meeting new companions.

Some might frown at this extreme simplicity, but I'll say that author has a great vision and focus, and executes the idea perfectly with very pleasant writing.

That's all.

Not bad for starter. Cliche plot, but oh well, I live for this kind of read. MC was transported to the game and we all knew what to expect - his tales of adventure.

MC is cold-hearted, he still keeps tabs on the ppl who accompany him. The story will begin with MC staying already in that world for some time and have build up some experience already, tho still weak. There are still lots of unanswered questions such as why he was transported, why does it have to be the... more>> swamp & what is the extent of his skills, but as long author did not forget it - for sure we will got the answer along the way of reading. For the world-setting, it's a world that is in a brink of destruction in every essence.

I won't label it as tragedy yet - compared to I Became A Tyrant of Defense Game, the angst here is barely noticeable. Also, the tag seems reliable that there is no harem.

Please do take note that I rate this four star based on my latest reading and expectations. It could be higher as we progress or could be lower, who knows. Give it a try. <<less
