This novel deserves 4⭐, mainly due to its well-crafted setting, 19th-century England with almost no mishmash of Eastern culture. The author's diligent research clearly shines through, creating a rather immersive backdrop for the story.

However, I must admit that my personal enjoyment of the story is not much. The presence of numerous irritating characters, some of whom may potentially betray the MC in later chapters, bothers my reading experience. Furthermore, the burden of maintaining a facade used by the MC which often forces him into uncomfortable situations, like getting blackmailed but... more>> still have to pretend being benevolent. Unsatisfying!!!

The prevalence of crimes committed in the name of love is another aspect that leaves me scratching my head. I don't know if the writer wanted to evoke sympathy for these characters by showing how much love they had, which led them doing such crimes. But I'm sorry, I find it difficult to like such themes.

Lastly, the ending leaves much to be desired, as it leaves many loose threads unresolved. Overall, while the novel excels in its setting, it falls short in terms of character development, narrative direction, and closure. <<less

Aaaaahhh I feel saaaddd! The novel ended just like that. There were some lose ends in the end, like people/stuff brought up that never gets mentioned again. I wish they would've brought them up so that the story would be longer (。•́︿•̀。)

I wish there were extras to see more fluff at the end Ó╭╮Ò

The translation is really good! Although the Translator intersects a lot in the beginning, they kinda stop doing it the latter half of the novel. And if it brothers you a lot you just skip over... more>> anything that has brackets, because that's when the TLer is talking.ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

The relationship between the Evan and Charles is so sweet! They're both crazy so they're quite evenly matched! Very cute and very nice, like I said before, wish I got to see more of that

(っ˘̩╭╮˘̩) っ

This novel is definitely a must read! I highly recommend you read it!! (◍•ᴗ•◍) <<less

a very different kind of story. I think the author had some good ideas but had to rush the ending and that's why it falls apart a little at the end. Still worth a read by itself.

Yandere falls for yandere?
Either way, a playboy MC falls genuinely in love for the first time and solves crimes in Victorian times while pretending to be a priest. That's it! Not a bad concept, very fresh ideas and ML and I did enjoy having an unconventional MC. He's no saint but he's also not evil. Manipulative for survival but sincere to those he comes to care for. I just wish the last arc was better, and had a better epilogue.

The relationship is solid and ofc they'll handle anything that comes at them but, why end there???? Makes no sense. And couple of important threads left loose imo, like MC revealing he also knows the Duke's true nature and they final deal with MC's dad.

Note: the translator started adding their personal thoughts in the middle of the chapters which was jarring to say the least. Thankfully they tone it down after a while so just try to ignore it.

This was an interesting and nice story that didn't do too much but I wished gave a little more. This was a good story that I wouldn't mind recommending. The main character was so interesting and hearing how he navigated through his new world was captivating. I wish that some interactions weren't rushed through. The ending is a bit abrupt but not the worst.

There’s alot of human dramas here and alot of detective work here. The romance is good, but there’s alot of emotional psychological here too. The ending is simple, abit anti climactic for me as after all those dramas, and twisted mysteries it’s suddenly just end perfectly. Lol. But its a good read. Thank you
