“You are not the real saint, you’re nothing but a fake—!!!”

I, Eliane, am suddenly exiled. Not only that, my engagement was also annulled by Claude, who was both my fiancé and the first prince of my country.

Claude claims that Leticia is the ‘real saint’, but I know from the beginning, she is the woman he has been cheating on me with. So here I am, sharing his wish to cancel our engagement.

But, is exiling me truly a wise decision, I wonder? Exiling this me, the actual ‘real saint’ who has been setting up barriers and supporting this kingdom from shadows?

Maybe, just maybe, dragons and archdemons will invade my kingdom starting from tomorrow. Who knows—

—not like it’s any of my business anymore.

I have abandoned my own country and have thus decided to have a peaceful life.

Meanwhile, the kingdom, which has lost its true saint, is on the path to ruin.

The translations are good. The problem is the story itself... There are a lot of thing that make me think that someone reallyyyy young came up with this. Things that don't make sense, and things that are really absurd. like frm the start ... more>>
Spoiler

the prince banished the saintess, whom is responsable of the barriers that protect the kingdom. She just left like that EVEN if there is still a king in thar kingdom. I mean, the Knight Leader met the saintess just when she was living the palace? in common sense he would stop her and then go inmediately to report it. Like someone said in the comments, the Leader could tell the prime minister, or the king, since that concernes the whole kingdom.

[collapse]

I am not usually that bothered with lack of common sense is some aspects, but everything here lack common sense. The characters, the setting, the places. Of course this is my opinion, there mey be people that would like this kind of novel, but it was too much for me. <<less

So far so good, it's nice. I like the plot and the mc's vibe is great. Luckily we have a rational Mc; the type who doesn't give a damn and keep her words. Unlike others, she follows her duty diligently until some idiot (the prince) goes goofy and ruined the kingdom himself. Also, our MC ain't selfish, she was banished. The worse case of her staying at the kingdom was execution. So to the person who kept blabbing on how selfish Elaine was.... sorry but please read understand it... more>> properly (found at the translators page). <<less

Although there's not enough chapters to really say anything about this novel, I just wanna say that this premise really piques my interests. While MC is a bit too 'go with the flow' type for me, I love how she isn't some self-righteous hormonal teen with hero-complex nor self-sacrificing complex. Love how she can just abandon that idiot prince, his woman, those ppl in their circle that never spoke up for her nor supported her & those of the country who not only takes her for granted but expects her... more>> to be their tool for no reason at all. I always hated how the self-righteous mob of regular ppl always think they are entitled when they say excuses such as: u r strong so u must protect us; u hav great power so u naturally hav to be responsible for us; u r smarter than us so u must think for us so we can live better & happier; u r generous / righteous so u must provide for us.... considering that even a prince can exile the saint at anytime w/out notifying others, seems to tell us that the supposed authority/status of the saint has sunk pretty low in the eyes of the country.

Love how MC can just go on living her own life instead, it's not like she asked to be a saint nor did she demanded to be the self-less hero for her country. It's way better to pursue for her own future, achievements & happiness instead of wasting effort & her life for ppl who take her life's work for granted.

Though I would prefer if this is a Josei rather than a Shoujo, it'll hav more depth if it was. <<less

1) Plot - Pretty bad

MC is a saint who is supposed to maintain barrier protecting country, which keeps out monsters and demons.

For some reason, the prince, who's not even the head of the country, is able to threaten to execute her due to the cliche of finding the "real saint" + "bullying her", but eventually exiling her instead.

... more>> You'd think for such an important action that will literally bring the country to doom this would require the following:-

  • Testing to check if "real" saint is able to maintain barrier to begin with
  • Going through a court of trial and submitting evidence of said "bullying"
  • Consulting with the king
But nothing.

As a result, MC is exiled and hence the country dies. With the citizens none the wiser of why they were sentenced to death. Nobody even attempted to stop her exile even with some of the higher ups of the country well aware of what's going on.

Then MC, with zero remorse, goes to the neighbouring kingdom where she starts MIRACULOUSLY getting powers she never knew she had, eventually building a reverse harem of men for some reason.

Characters

  • Everyone who is not standing by MC side is bad
  • MC likes going with the flow and feels like a 2D charager with no personality and no sense of responsibility.
  • Harem members are cardboard cutouts who fall over to please MC
  • Antagonists are cardboard cutouts who spew cliche dialogues and dont really have any concrete plans

I don't really care about her "abandoning" her country of origin in the prologue events, she was literally exiled - as in, ordered to leave and never return. My problem with this novel is that the protagonist is a Mary Sue and the world is divided in two - on one side are the hyper-competent and all-powerful supporters of the Mary Sue and on the other are the incompetent, personality-less caricatures of human beings that are against her.

This is basically every isekai power fantasy wankfest like Death March and that... more>> LN about the sociopath supported by Tsukuyomi, only with a different cliche decorator. <<less

This story is definitely middle of the road quality wise. It's not bad. It has its fun points, but it also has plenty of bad points. At this point I don't know if I'll read anymore just because it's not interesting enough. I don't care what happens next, which for me is a really rare occurrence.

First a positive: it takes awhile to get the whole story, but the author actually gives a pretty believable backstory as to how and why the MC got banished. It takes a long time though.... more>> (It was around chapter 70 that we find out that the king played a major role)

Now, I personally usually enjoy stories with OP protagonists, and harems don't usually bother me, but the way in which the author goes about it in this story is weird. The MC meets her ML, they get engaged, and then a bunch of handsome guys are introduced one by one as if they were potential love interests. But the MC is supposed to already love the ML. And, to be fair, nothing really happens with them either, but that just makes it weirder. Why repeatedly introduce a character as if they were a love interest when they aren't? The first time it was done well, and I appreciated it. But the second time it wasn't done well, and wasn't funny. By the 4th time in a row it's just old.

That's the main reason I've lost interest in this story. Others might not have a problem, so if it seems interesting to you try it out. Just be aware that it definitely has its flaws. <<less

Decent read, but bad set up. The characters follow their personalities and intelligence to a T, as such it's incredibly predictable. It's supposed to be a 'light-hearted' slice of life story with a very cloistered MC that doesn't realize how many times she exposes her identity. Her 'condemning' of a kingdom is something the kingdom themselves did, though, there's alot of plot holes. Tbh it's a decent read, but you have to not look into details, the author themselves seem to be new to the work.

Spoiler

Personal rants, she didn't abandon the kingdom, she was exiled, so why should she risk her own life trying to argue against the ret*rd of a prince giving the order? Where the hell was the king, he's alive yet...? The MC, whilst I love she's realistic about being an idiot about concealing her identity, she's never been outside how is she to know, I also hate it. Oh look a dragon, they have a good set up, so love rival? Nope, he's a f*ing supporting character, seriously?! You had such a perfect setup, whilst a bit early for reintroduction, just..... haaaaa.

This has been translated wonderfully, with little if any mistakes.

Has the now cliched and bordering genric FL being banished and her life from there.

The only reason am giving it 3 stars instead of 4 (for story and translation, 1-star minus for its cliched characters and events), is because the title feels a bit misleading. {Might change later as have only read up to 40 chaapters}

It talks in the title how banishing her set the course for the destruction of her kingdom, but the majority of the chapters after her... more>> banishment talks mainly of her life in the new kingdom and the people she meets. It wouldn't be off starting each chapter with 'dear diary' and she goes on about how she met people or experienced her day, she isn't even really felt a bit of hardship from being exiled. Her life is far better even during the process of getting out of the country than what it was previously living there.

In all, it is a cliche-filled average rom-com with a bit of medieval kingdom destruction process tidbits thrown in as of reading chapter 40. <<less

a fluffy revenge comedy waiting to happen. The MC's effectively cast out after having spent most of her life safeguarding her soon to be former country. The characters aren't particularly well written and fairly binary, on one hand you have the super kind prince and on the other hand you a soon to be ruined country headed by morons who've taken everything for granted.

Despite that it's still a pretty decent read so far, if not for the romcom then at least for the karmic justice that's obviously going to come... more>> to the moronic prince whose just doomed his country, meanwhile the MC is off giving all those benefits to his neighbor. <<less

The premise is promising, unfortunately the world building and flow of the story sucks. Could have prob end quicker if they remove all the fillers or make said fillers quicker and shorter.

Initially love it up to around ch.20 were I finally got bored and just read the face slapping arc of ex-fiance, which to be honest isn't that great?

Also it didn't help MC being too OP that there wasn't anything interesting about her for me.

I skimmed through the chapters, only reading those that interested me after a few chapters. Main reason for that was the huge number of shallow, 2D braindead people.

In fact, I rarely have any high expectations when it comes to Japanese light novels since many of them barely touch upon proper world-building and characterization/character development, at least in mainstream genres. My expectations were fulfilled, I guess.

Maybe it's because I was skimming that I never got to bond with any characters. Maybe they are just not that likeable. At least the FL... more>> is not my cup of tea. She is a holy mother and a doormat which makes me want to shake her real hard and slap her for her to come to her senses. I might just be a b, but repaying someone with good when you only got crap and abuse from them is just plain s*upid in my mind.

Incidentally, I might have read too many Chinese novels so I prefer face-slapping to being a goody two shoes. But then again, Japanese light novels really have a high number of pacifist protagonists who love peace more than their self-respect. I should have seen this coming.

Either way, since I began reading this with low expectations to begin with I did not have a feeling of disappointment which had a positive affect on my star rating. As I never give a one star rating (I would feel bad bashing someone's hard work) two stars will have to make do. <<less

Sorry, but this is such a bad and cliche story. It's one of those novels that feels more like a rough draft or an outline of a generic novel than an actual fully fleshed out novel.

Spoiler

After being exiled by her fiance, the prince (with no word from the King or ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER when it actually happened), she leaves the kingdom, only to INSTANTLY run across another prince from the next door kingdom. He somehow INSTANTLY realizes she's the saint, and she INSTANTLY crumbles and tells him the truth. Also, the guy acts head over heals in love with her right off the bat, saying how he doesn't want her to leave his side. She even agrees to stay in the castle with the rest of the royalty after a sentence or two from the prince.

Did she not once think "Well, maybe I shouldn't put myself in the EXACT SAME SITUATION of relying on the royalty of the country to have a life and a home." She didn't even TRY to hide her saint abilities, healing first people and a sick "pet" of the king of the neighboring country, pretty much exposing herself right away. She even tells both the prince and king that she can communicate with both demons and animals. I think her explanation was something incredibly s*upid like "It helps when healing them"..... What?.. That doesn't even make any sense. Stuff like this happens in these tiny page long chapters making you feel like these were just the ideas the author jotted down, and that they still had to flesh them out so they didn't seem so generic and boring.

Also doesn't help that she's one of those MCs who turn into a wet mushy flustered mess in front of the opposite gender as long as they have a pretty face. She, herself, is supposedly absolutely gorgeous, so you'd think she can be at least somewhat calm. I feel like if someone I just met that day grabbed my hands and said they didn't want me to leave their side, regardless of how good looking they were, I'd feel more creeped out than flustered.

I'm honestly afraid to keep reading as I have a bad feeling she'll never actually set out to do things on her own. So boring compared to other novels like this where the MC actually gets off her bu*t and relies on herself to become independent.

Makes me feel like this is one novel that will NEVER be made into an anime, and that says a lot, looking at what garbage manga and novels get made into anime. Just has no real substance to it.

Doesn't help that the translation is somewhat mediocre. It isn't technically wrong, but the grammar is strange and the sentence structures are awkward sometimes. Feels like it was MTL'd, then cleaned up, but only partially.

It's the first novel that made me want to rant so much. I don't know, I just can't stand MC. She was a 100% Mary Sue and always attracted bees and butterflies around her. From the dragon (Douglas), the prince (Nigel), the knight (Klaus), the magical researcher (Robert), the spirit king (Philip), the duke (Vincent), and the historician (Siegrid), all seemed ready to be at her disposal. And of course MC didn't hesitate to use them for the sake of "saving the world".

In the end, she chose Nigel (because of... more>> course ML had to be a prince charming) but her heart still fluttered when she was near other handsome men (even when she was already officially engaged to Nigel). She also let them took advantage of her such as let them bridal carried her or touched her hand or even cooked for them. And what the most ridiculous was Nigel let them did that and he didn't even slightly jealous that his beloved was so close with other men. I don't know, maybe this novel was supposed to be a reserve harem novel or something?

And MC and Nigel's relationship also seemed a bit forced. They both fell in love at the first sight and got engaged relatively fast but they still lacked of chemistry. The author tried to create several sweet moments for both of them but still failed to make it authentic. Maybe we should switch ML? This story didn't lack ML after all. <<less

It was just your generic JN, where the MC was exiled because of an idiot, her former fiancee was an idiot prince, after getting exiled meet the neighboring kingdom prince and somehow become his fiancee.

Gained harem or reverse harem in this case, her original kingdom was on the verge of being destroyed because she was the one who create the barrier to protect from demon. While the original kingdom was almost done for she brought along her harem and rescued the kingdom.

No life is lost, there was some injuries but... more>> not life threatening.

So basically this was world was based on wish fulfillment or a kinder garden child fantasy. <<less

yeah MC is as interesting as the rocks you find in your driveway with just as much character development. Actually the rock might get more character development then she does. Author clearly has NO idea how to actually write characters or to make any chemistry between characters. This for example, they exiled a saint. There's a reason or test of how she became a saint. How did the church choose her as a saint? Of course, test her capabilities and power, that's why they knew. Yet no one in the church or outside object because the author set them as a s*upid characters.

"Standard" kind of story. Nothing special for its genre. Nothing particularly bad either. Generic MC, generic villains, generic side characters, generic pets. Simple "plot"

Not particularly funny despite the comedy tag.

Most of the complains and praises for this story by the other reviewers are on point. Yet, I still feel this is quite decent as a random SoL. Just don't go in expecting an epic of some sort.
