If you're looking for an easy but good reading, this I recommend.

The story is actually quite light and very slice of life, but with a mix of lil golden finger here and there since our MC is reborn. It's a story about past regret and how he chose to fulfil a dream he once had. And I must say, fate works wonder here since his rebirth majorly affects at least 2 people here. I'm gonna ignore the scums fate who actually looking for trouble themselves here.

It's a healthy relationship. Kind of realistic in terms of romance because author did not relate to much cheesiness.

For now a really pleasant read. The MC is calm and smart. Doing his best with his rebirth to live a good life now and in the future with A little help from a golden finger . A light slice of life story as Lyre said.

I recommend.

OK.... this starts out OK. (Just OK though).

Kind of reminds me of "Epiphanies of Rebirth" but not nearly as good... (BUT.. in fairness... Epiphanies of Rebirth was done in 2017 according to NU and this was done in 2014... so I guess Epiphanies would be the one 'inspired' by this perhaps?)

Also the author starts to just pile in a bunch of info on what happened in a year or 2 in one chapter for a time skip.... this sort of stuff should/could have been written out and would have... more>> seriously helped the novel in general.

The pace in general tends to alternate between too slow and too fast...

The things that you actually think he should explore more, like actual relationships in his village or later on with people tend to get glossed over.

Also, do NOT read this for a business power couple.... the business is all glossed over, he throws out some stuff but the author never really goes into it in any real detail later on. (at least not as of chapter 74.... and there are only 85 chapters including extras... so I doubt it will happen).

Additionally there is some very light nationalism....I say very light because it is very light....I keep watching to see if it goes worse but so far it hasn't. As long as it's just proud of his country I can tolerate it...

A for effort, but at the moment maybe 2.5 stars.... definitely NOT worth a re-read. <<less

Hmm, why did I drop it even though it has aaaaall the tropes I look for, poor to rich, do over, investments, etc. Well, in a good story, the level of excitement will usually fluctuate up and down right. But in this story, the line is pretty much stable. Good things are done by the MC but they were done in such a matter-of-fact manner that there isn't any feeling of catharsis at all. He got first in everything, I have no feeling, he got a windfall right out... more>> the gate, no feeling either, he bought his first property, no feeling because it was gotten by that windfall, his properties are slated for demolition and monetary compensation, no feeling either. I think it is because I can't feel much true effort being made. So it got kinda bland.

This was an okay story. It focuses mostly on the MC fixing his regrets, the romance is not a big part of the story. Many characters and plots get brushed aside or forgotten.

MC is okay, his character was kind of bland at times, almost like he had no real emotions. He is a Gary Stu type, handsome, great at everything, most love him etc. I'm okay with that type of MC but I know others aren't. ML has a "communication disorder" ML is probably my favorite character.

MC's family is okay, I'm not Chinese so can't really comment, but who let's an 11 year live alone?! The mom's brothers tried some at least monetarily. The dad's brothers family and story line was meh and the cousin was forgotten about later on. The ML's family is sweet, they aren't a huge part of the story, but I love how accepting and caring they are.

The friend side characters are brought in and forgotten about quickly. He goes through a few friends from Jr high to college and none of them are kept for the long haul.

The pacing of the story to me was fine. I'm glad the author utilized time skips and we didn't have to read detail version of MC's life from 11 - 18. The last time skip in college was kind of abrupt though. The nationalism is exaggerated in this novel, you know the typical; all western food is gross and Chinese food is the best, China has kungfu which captivates Westerners, China has deep history/culture that other countries can't compare to, etc..

Up until the international competition, it was slightly annoying, but tolerable, nothing more than excessive pride. Then,

The whole international competition arc was weird, boring, and out of place. It almost made me drop the novel, but the ML is so awkward and cute, I wanted to see how he gets MC to fall for him.

There isn't fluff and the romance is bland, it all happens in the last 15 chapters or so and only sporadically.

All in all if the international competition arc didn't happen I would have rated this 3.5-4 but it brought down the story too much for me.

The translation is great, the notes are well done and not many typo errors. I read MTL from chapter 26 on and it's easy to MTL for the most part.

Surely, the plot isn't that remarkable but I really love Shen Shao's character. There were a lot of dog blood drama so it may be tiring to read but if you're up for it then I guess it's still worth it?

Also, this is just my type of stories so I still somehow enjoyed it.

• the thing is the MC work so hard and like he alrd built so many companies etc and he is already powerful but idk why they make the MC relient on the ML forcefully like they downplayed the MC a lot like his power not being enough etc etc and the author-nim does not miss a chance to make the MC feel useless without the ML's family bs which is no logic I understand that the Gu family (Ml's) is very strong but the MC expanded his territory in the business field so are you saying that he did not come across not even ONE strong ally? Total bs.
• the romance development is already very slow then the author-nim try to pull this relient on ML forcefully for what. Ruining the while damn story.
• Also to those who think the MC is the top he is not its a bait
• the marrying and fighting part was also so rushed honestly the author had so much potential to show how powerful the MC is but their muddlehead oni know how to write bullcrap of him STILLL havin to rely on ML (fanily) bs still makes me mad
• ML = social disorder?, anyways cos he is a genius so he is not very good at communication actually no he like 100% does not communicate cos he dk how to MC is his first frnd, doting, cold, sweet
• ML chased MC frm day 1 subtly cos MC rescued ML on the street when he was escapin frm his kidnappings the thing is MC did not rembr it too much
• anyways the ML is cute he also had potential
