Both the MC and ML are green flags! The MC actually annoyed me a bit at the beginning because he’s so kind hearted and pure that he seems like a pushover but he’s actually very resolved and I love how his character develops. The dynamic between the MC and ML has to be my favorite part of the novel! Their relationship feels very realistic and they’re so sweet together. The plot is also well written and suspenseful!

Shoutout to the translator too! They’re a newer translator but so far I have... more>> seen zero issues and the chapters read smoothly. <<less

It's implied ML tore off his previous guide's head and possibly ate some of him while they were "guiding" and that's why he has to be muzzled and doesn't want deep guiding now???

It also makes ML and his supporting medical staff's approach to MC quite dubious, particularly in the way they're getting his "consent"

MC clearly doesn't know any of this and they don't tell him about the stakes involved, for example, even down to even the abort button they give him in the treatment room with ML. MC clearly thinks it's just a stop signal, like maybe to the staff outside, when it's actually a "call in the national guard" type situation and ML continues to... not tell him? Even when he can see MC going to press the button??? Also why give him the button there when ML can so easily stop him from using it anyway... orz why am I expecting logic from webnovels...

So this is a case of dubcon because MC is not fully informed. Maybe it gets better; it's certainly nowhere near the worst example in the genre, but I was going in expecting something fairly sweet and "green flag", and this ain't it. I'll update this review if I give this story another shot. It otherwise seemed like a fairly typical sentinel/guide story, but decently translated and nicely readable. I love it so far. A earnest puppy dog top (and guide!) committed to his super cool OP esper *chef’s kiss*. I love their dynamic. They’ve both been through a lot, but every time they’re together, it feels so right! I’m really excited to read more.

I was really surprised and impressed by the story - the rating should be higher than it is. It guideverse but with a few things I really enjoyed such as Cthulu-horror-elements and some role-reversal.

killing his previous guide during s*x. It felt like a weirdly horrific backstory for the author to include in the story vs something like the guide just dying tragically from a dungeon or from a lighter mistake instead.

However, as you continue reading, that backstory did have an impact and was meaningful to the growth of the characters,

and the way the relationship developed was actually extremely wholesome and beautiful.

There aren't any super dramatic misunderstandings and the pacing was well done. Both characters go through well-crafted character development and relationship development. Some of the side characters were very vividly written as well

Overall a really enjoyable story that had a lot of focus on the romance but also some horror-mystery elements. And the translation was pretty good, though there was one chapter that needed editing (because chatGPT turned the ML into a girl). <<less

I’m writing a review because I think this story is a bit underrated. I’m not done with it but it seems pretty interesting so far. I love the relationship between the MC and ML. MC is sweet and soft but can be strong when he needs to be and ML is so pitiful (his circumstances) but also strong.

I left off at the part where an S class esper that died/ killed in Russia death led to no more gates opening in Russia. So now this organization is coming to kill ML and warn others to do so as well so that the gates may be stopped.

S class Espers for some reason feel really drawn to the gates/rifts ML almost walked in once but was stopped by MC

the gates and the origin of the No-Named are never explained! How can you not explain this?! Author, this is a very large plot hole! Also, what happened to the rest of the No-Named? The author tries to wrap the story up by saying now there's hope for others, but no one else has a 98% matching rate and a guide that practically worships them, so it seems unlikely that the situation has changed for any of the others... nor is the director who hired the assassins ever punished, so that's frustrating too

I love this novel so much!! It is so lovely, hot, sad, sweet and lovely again. Please give it a try.

the translator is really good even when this is their first work in this world (guideverse and modern) so some the last chapter are a little dificult to get but they are still readable (just like 2-3 chapter) and when you tell them they change it so is okey.

I truly enjoyed this. But I didn't realize until too late that the translator used ChatGPT to translate it so.....

But the story was good and the character's relationships were natural and intimate. The 2 MCs definitely felt in love and devoted to each other. The side stories cleared up a lot of issues a different review mentions so.... maybe they didnt read the side stories?

Except one, I believe. They never explained how it came to be, but it was still a work in progress— they made it evident that that... more>> was an answer they were still looking for.

I saw someone say MC is frustrating in the beginning for how naive he is but I didn't feel that? He is young and spent his whole life protecting his brother, trying his best to ensure that he'd be able to pay for the ever-growing hospital bills. I mean, it's not like he's the same as other MCs who are doormat for their family members and spend their lives paying off their debt and are constantly being taken advantage of.

MC is ab*sed and traumatized, but he knew when to leave the ab*ser.

MC and ML's relationship developing was cute and sweet, and I really enjoyed the plot. It was creative in explaining the manifestation of Guides, Espers, and the monsters. It was memorable.

I also appreciate ML acknowledging that he couldn't watch the recordings of his being guided because it felt too much like r*pe. And MC not even knowing how he felt, but calling out a side character on his rapist behavior.

This was a refreshing read and honestly, I truly enjoyed it.

I have read many novels, but I have never seen love this beautiful and pure in any of them. This novel reminded me how beautiful and pure love can be. Everything about this novel is perfect. Considering how much I cried over this novel, I really needed to see their happiness. They get married and live happily ever after. After all the hardships they went through, they really deserved it. The ending was very satisfying.

Beautiful crybaby top x Handsome strong bottom is always going to be my number one dynamic of choice. This author seems to be fond of this as well, based from their other works (Cherry Bomb, Temporary Divorce Relationship, Society Snippet).

I picked this up partly because of the manhwa adaptation and partly because of the above dynamic, despite being not a fan of guideverse in general. In many guideverse stories the fact that intimate contact is needed to heal espers becomes an excuse for writers to insert lots of smut, or... more>> even worse--make the smut the focal point of their narrative.

Writers should take notes from this story on how to write guideverse BL with actual substance, and not just be using this universe to write lots of smut.

The levels of guiding introduced in this story is very interesting, and I love how

Getting to that final level, "Deep Pivot" is not just some simple physical fulfillment described in a manual (even though they do provide that textbook description) but something much deeper.

Although this story can stand alone without any of the smut scenes, I do think the little amount that it has are necessary as they give us more insight to the kind of people our leads are, and their general dynamic.

From the amount of his tears and painful reactions, you'd think he was the one being penetrated, but physically, Baby Yeonwoo is our top. Seo-jun is the bottom physically but he definitely controls this relationship. He and (kmiyc's) Josh will definitely get along.

Let me list some of the good things about this novel:

  • They COMMUNICATE. They know what they want and they said it clearly. (I love your honesty Yeon Woo)
  • The ML's past is not just there to add his mysterious image, it actually affect him for a long time.
  • The side characters have personality and I can symphatize with them.
  • No unnecessary shallow villain.
  • They asked for CONSENT, and know each other's limit.
  • And of course, both of them are green forest.

Another underrated Kr guideverse story. Fantastically fun body horror elements. The relationship was as healthy as it can be given the situation (don’t agree with the person who argued about the MC being left in the dark).

the ML and MC were both sympathetic characters, their behaviors understandable.

damn my guide to me is still number one for me though, but this one is top 4
