In the era of interstellar wars, each melee mecha fighter would be paired with a long-range sniper mecha fighter to protect each other in battle.

The sniper mecha master Yan Xueshan (beta) and melee mecha master Arthur (alpha) were such a pair, the two have been partners for six years, eating and living together to develop tacit understanding.

The upcoming showdown was a deadly one.

The day before the final battle.

Yan Xueshan: “Remember to write a farewell letter in advance.”

Arthur said dejectedly: “I have only one regret. If I die this time, I will be a virg*n until I die.”

Yan Xueshan gave a cold hum: “…not interested.”

Arthur pitifully asked, “Master, can you grant me this wish before I die??”

Ahhh! I really liked this cute story. MC, Yan Xueshan, is so innocent and oblivious that I sometimes feel sorry for ML, Arthur Felix. However, ML is a schemer so it was still fun watching him become helpless time and again when MC unintentionally gives him emotional blows.

Frankly, I don't like the story's title and almost passed on it, so I'm glad that I gave it a try. The story has a unique tone that appeals to me. Hmm, maybe I have a liking for MC's with social disorders. Either... more>> way, I think you won't have any regrets giving this novel a go.

MC was an orphan and was living his life fulfilling his deceased adopted father's wishes. This led to him retiring to do farming after the war ended. His partner was ML, who loved him for many years. However, MC had an accident when he was five years old that impaired his ability to process emotions.

After MC retired, ML found him and schemed to be closer to MC. Slowly, MC was able to process some emotions, knowing that ML was special to him.

In the end they got married and MC rejoined the military. He got promoted from rank of Major to Admiral.

Damn, I just read a chicken soup for the soul. Seriously, this story is full of warmth.

MC is emotionally disabled but he is very kind while ML is a little sunshine. It's very beautiful how ML chase his wife down, from the beginning when he need to use tactic to coax his wife, until MC began to slowly fall in love with him.

Kinda sad I want to see an epilogue about their sniper and melee friends who got unintentionally tricked by MC lol.

It was a short but very wonderful novel. I like how the author wrote YXS. Despite his emotional disorder, he was able to love AF. I like how innocent and pure the protagonists are despite facing the realities of war.

So glad that Authur (ML) managed to persist throughout the years. Our MC Yan Xueshan is kind of emotionally stunted due to an accident when he was younger and since then, he has been unable to feel much emotions, not to mention loving someone. But I guess Authur's persistence and sincerity did move his heart a little :")

Love how this novel mainly talks about the present, which is directly after the war has ended. A peaceful time that allows them to be themselves, relax, and pursue what they really... more>> want in life. Overall, it was a warm and sweet novel with little angst. Though I did feel so sorry for Authur because of how 'dense' and 'oblivious' Yan Xueshan is... like he really tried his best 🥹 but alls well in the end :> <<less

I won't leave a rating as I have dropped the novel.

The concept is interesting and the characters also seem fun, however the writing style just doesn't capture my attention. Whether that is solely on the style or if it is down to translation, I can't comment.

The story seems to be written in quite a blunt way. It feels more like a narration or a summary rather than actual storytelling. In one way, it suits the MC as he apparently has no emotions, but unfortunately I don't... more>> feel drawn in so I'll be dropping it.

It's really a shame as I think it has a lot of potential, so don't let this review stop you from at least giving it a try! <<less

Okay this was actually really nice. I had expected some level of cringe but there wasn't at all. The author had one goal and stuck to it well. No unnecessary drama, angst, face-slapping etc etc. But despite that, the characters were so interesting to read. I think a huge part of it was because they weren't clichéd stereotypes.

I also really liked the emphasis on post-war rehabilitation. It was quite idealistic and superficial but thankfully, it was short, even heartwarming, and the author didn't drag it out with intrigues or whatever.

Not... more>> artful nor literary, but definitely worth the read. <<less

It's a short and wonderful novel. ML is very funny and loyal like a dog. He is calm and elegant in front of other, but nervous in front of MC. MC has mind problem, he is emotionless. He was casted aside by students in university. All people gave him strange glances. Many couples abdoned him after adoption until he met his adoptive father. His father was very good to him, but he died. So he began to fullfill his adoptive father's dream.
