If life were likened to god rolling the dice, then Lu YunFei is a 6. He’s handsome and smart, save for his abysmal proficiency in English. That is until he met Bian JinYuan — Bian JinYuan is tall and cool, top of his grade in every exam, and his English results definitely destroy Lu YunFei’s twice over. If he’s a 6, then this guy is simply 666!

Since YunFei is already here, why would there be a need for JinYuan? It’s hard for a mountain to accommodate two tigers, unless one is a male while the other is female. Lu YunFei looked at the other party’s gender, and silently crossed that thought out.

However, not long after he started to treat Bian JinYuan as a rival, he found that after 9pm, he would mysteriously possess Bian JinYuan’s Tmall Genie. (A cat mascot similar to Amazon Alexa or Google Home.)

After possessing the Tmall Genie, Lu YunFei realised that his rival is actually a pauper prince. Lu YunFei who possessed looks, height, and wealth looked at his cards which were almost overflowing with money, and decided to establish his friendship relations. Therefore, since Bian JinYuan lacked money, Lu YunFei hired him to be his English tutor.

Bian JinYuan bought a cake and couldn’t bear to eat it so that he could bring it home for his family. Lu YunFei bought him a large slice of cake the next day.

Having done good deeds everyday, Lu YunFei felt that the invisible red scarf on his chest had gotten brighter.

Until there was a hot post on the school forum: 《Expose on Lu YunFei – getting the top student to be your lackey, do you really think that it’s all that to have money! 》

The original poster listed down various instances: bag-carrying, bringing water, peeling chestnuts; the school genius was ordered about as if he were a servant. Everyone was enjoying the gossip, when Bian JinYuan who had never posted in the forum before, posted for the first time with his real name.

Bian JinYuan: I don’t need the money, I’m willing, why do you care?

Everyone was scared dumb.

Lu YunFei worried about whether he should bother Bian JinYuan less.

“That’s not necessary, I like being bothered by you.”

“Forget it,” Lu YunFei rejected.

  • its a really fun and interesting bl
  • basically the MC possess this night "job" of where he gets transported inside the MC's t-mal genie which is like an artificial intelligent thing like alexa etc. He then understands what the ML is goin through then besties him up irl then yknow cultivate feelings bluh bluh bluh
  • ML goes through a lot and has a very sad backstory but then MC becomes his light in his dark tunnel and they both just eventually become lovers
  • friends to lovers basically
  • both the MC & ML are study tyrants = very smart and cunning the extras were very fun to read too such an enjoyable read!!

As expected, when it comes to school life novels, I lose interest fairly quickly. I left this unrated cause I didn’t read even half of the novel, but in my opinion, it’s pretty good, just not my preference. The basic premise is that the MC falls asleep once day and finds himself playing the role of the chine version of Alexa/Siri. This doesn’t actually feature much. It’s just a convenient plot device that allowed the MC to get to know the ML’s background. The ML is living with a single... more>> mom and little brother, and their livelihood isn’t very stable. This awakens the MC’s desire to help (he’s naturally kindhearted), and leads to their path being intersected again and again.

Romance is the main focus here. Though it’s slow burn, so the development is mostly unknown to me. If you’re looking for a chill read with not too many ups and downs, just the regular lives of two teens, then this is worth the read. The TL is good and the wholesome vibes, even if it wasn’t for me in the end, felt very pleasant! <<less

Absolutely adorable! I honestly love the MC so much in this, he's such a pure sweet ball of sunshine. His family is rich and powerful, but it's also sweet and very loving, and he's grown to show only the best of what his family offers. The ML's feelings are written beautifully. The author and translator did an amazing job with all of the literary references and all of the times when the ML was very symbolically thinking about his feelings toward the MC. I could really feel the ML's care... more>> and concern about the MC, and his inner thoughts were really moving. The only things I would have liked would be more extras (or the romance not starting at the last chapter of the main story LOL) and also an explanation for the whole Tmall thing given that it's the whole premise of the story. I love the couple so much though. <<less

It was very cute and fluffy. No brainless villians. The genie part wasn't a big part of the story other than letting MC see how ML lives. The genie part of the story stops mid way, not forgotten but completed. I usually dislike slow burn stories but this one was great, the slow burn felt natural and not forced.

ML wasn't my favorite but still good, really liked this MC, especially compared to authors other MCs. Loved that the MC was smart too, just had issues with English, their relationship felt... more>> balanced. The family's reactions were realistic but good.

I agree with others about MLs family the mom and dad are both at fault.

dad lead mom on but I also get not wanting to marry young. He could have given her a promise for later. Mom kept his son from him which is morally wrong. If dad had known and rejected the kid that is different, but he didn't even get that chance. Both mom and dad were just selfish. I felt bad for the grandparents and wished ML would have warmed up to them more.

Lmao- I thought he became an actual genie but in reality, the thing he became was like an artificial intelligence like Alexa. Anyway- *nosebleed* fluff!!!! How I love the friendship and respect to boundaries! Even the dogblood drama didn't get highlighted- only the sweet interactions of the characters. Like awwww.

This Du Xin thinks so highly of herself. I sure hope she didn't get to their class section due to connections because that would be very unfair to the one who got demoted.

While I understand how frustrating it is for someone to ignore you when you ask for help, remember that it is not their duty to help you. Dai Hua is not even a close friend- he knows that he is not the only one who was ignored but blaming Bian Jinyuan for his lacking? Bruh- if I were you I'll blame the professor if you were intentionally humiliated or just freaking approach the teacher for actual help or guidance towards the question. Not every teacher is like Zhong Ran.

This is just my opinion but I think there's no one who is right or wrong between Bian Ting and Shu Yuan. They're both young and while they separated- one has incomplete knowledge of what it actually entails (lost of opportunity to decide) while the other one decides to live in the present (respecting the other party's preference to not marrying -without the burden that will change his mind). It might seem unfair to both of them but that's life- consequence of what choices they undertook.

This novel is full of fluff I tell ya! It's beautiful, lovely and cute novel that made me anticipate what comes next. I love the pairing hehehheeh~ I wonder when will Lu YunFei realise his feeling for Bian JinYuan hayss~~ im almost finish reading this novel that's why I said the above words d= (´▽｀) =b Oh I hate Du Xin tsk hahahaha I guess I spoil that one who wants to read this novel ahahhaha still waiting for the face slapping that my guts tell me will happen to... more>> Du Xin. A sweet story, I like it so much!

It started off with MC's dislikes towards ML because of his score in english. And boom somehow he became an AI in ML's house. And then they started to get to know each other. Their romance is a slow burn but you can feel that both of them spoil the other very-very-very much.

Not much conflict and it is solved quickly without dragging anything. No misunderstanding too since they communicate with each other.

MC is a rich, but an not overbearing person. He's also a... more>> good friend you'd want in life. ML is not emotionally attached to many people, but he's moved by MC and end up falling first. This is very much a slow burn romance. The MC is very dense and he can't seem to figure out what he feels for the ML. It's so cute to watch him try and dote on the ML though, always trying to buy him lunch and gift him treats or money. And the MLs little brother is a darling, their interactions when the MC is possessing the Tmall Genie are definitely one of my favourite parts of the story!

After reading the first few chapters, I just couldn't resist mtling the rest! This novel is sweet and gentle all the way to the end. There's very little dogblood and drama and they are all solved fairly quickly. This story has very little ups and downs, but it's saved by the way the writing. If you're looking for passionate love, then this is not your cup of tea.
The love between the MC and ML is a gentle love. When they get together, you would only think, "it was meant to be". I'm in love with the way the author develops their relationship. If I were to describe it, it'd be like a frozen stream. The stream would barely move at first, but soon, it would be exposed to the sun. Then, the ice would slowly melt, droplets would gather together and soon, the stream would start moving. And once it moves, it would be hard to stop. The stream wouldn't move very fast, and it wouldn't become very big, but it was just right. If you were to dip your feet into it, you would only feel slightly cool and maybe a little ticklish.

Their love is not passionate, but it's just as sweet as any passionate love. I'll walk forward and you would accompany me. Our paces might be different, but we'll adjust so that we can be side by side.

Such a warm novel. There's an equal amount of anything you want, like romance, cliché scenes, drama, friendships, family, action, etc. There wasn't too much nor too little.

I really like the gradual growing affection of YunFei and JinYuan. It just makes me think of high school and youth. It made me feel like I'm witnessing their whole journey from the start until the end.

The only con for me is how it wasn't explained why YunFei possessed the tmall genie. Another thing is I really want to know the story of... more>> YunFei's friend, Wen MingYi and his ge.

Overall, this is a 4.5/5 for me. I recommend if you want to read a warm shounen-ai. <<less

This novel is too good. Kudos to the author for writing consistently from start to finish. The premise is creative. Most novels that I read typically has the rich ML and poor MC trope but this one is the reverse. An excellent, entertaining, light read indeed.

Finally I completed reading it, it was such a sweet story.

It was a wonderful story with enough fluff, slice of life, romance and friendship. I enjoyed every secret of it, a simple and light read.

Both the ML and MC were way too cute especially MC he was a living angel always helping others and taking revenge to those who hurt his friends.

I am not read the story about his friend yet, will surely read it in future but not now as I wish to read something new.

I wished there were few more extra chapters of their after cohabitation life, what about their kid?? Did they have one?

Ahhh it was shounen ai ಥ_ಥ I really wanted some spicy scenes though.

Anyway I liked it and would highly recommend it to all of u who came for a light read and fluff,

I truly enjoyed reading this novel. Our Fei Fei was so endearing and the way he responded to the schemes of others was truly commendable. For someone so privileged, he was always able to consider the big picture and was able handle the challenges he encountered. I also appreciate our dedicated and loving Bian Bian. He grew up so well and his character development was engaging. Moreover, the fact that their small circle of friends and family supported them was an icing to the cake.

This novel deserve a 10 stars!!!

This was such a fantastic read. It ticked off every single box I needed. The characters were so likeable, the story sweet, and my day was spent squealing.

If you want to see a gradual development, instead of insta-love, with a healthy relationship. This is it.

The main leads are also very likeable. They are both so good in different ways and it is so great to see their dynamic.

The fluff! So good, my mother thought someone was dying with how loud I was screaming.

There is only one nitpick I had but it's pretty minor, and not really a detriment to the story, just a slight dislike of how it is portrayed. This most likely won't affect someone's reading experience but might just irk some people.

I don't quite like how ML's father was treated. There was fault to be found with him, sure, but the same can be said for ML's mother and her 'choices'. I admire her strength but I also wish she took a different route when raising ML.

The apathy ML has toward his father is understandable. He didn't know this man all his life and isn't obligated to care for him. My issue is the novel's tone clearly indicating that we should be blaming ML's father for not being there in his life than feeling sorry for him not knowing his son existed.

All in all, if you're in for a story that'll make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, try this out.

The story was nice with an easy going and calmly placed rhythm and plot. The characters each had separate personalities which really played out with the sequence of this story which I greatly enjoyed.

The relationship between the MC and ML gives a very sweet vibe between them as they both mutually hold each other in great regards as they get to explore their friendship through out the story.

The thing that took points away is the ml’s relationship with his father, it greatly pissed me off.

The mothers actions were poor and... more>> left the father in an unfortunate situation that was completely unfair towards him.

I’m also greatly disappointed in the aunt as well. While I get losing a family member is hard she had no right to insult or accuse the father of things he had no control over as the mother literally kept the ML away from him.

Not to mention she ran away just because the father had no intention to marry or settle down with her yet even though they were both freshly graduated.

The funny part is he didn’t even say he wouldn’t marry her, he was just unready and I get it many people marry late as they need more time to make such big life decisions, and realistically it’s very uncommon for people in their early 20s to marry so young.

Her reasoning was selfish and unfair and most annoyingly as you get farther into the story it’s obvious that the father was completely in love with her and given time would have married her if she didn’t runaway.

The mother didn’t inform the father about the ml’s existence and he wouldn’t have realized about it since both him and the mother were taking birth control and other medication as they were together. Yet despite this the aunt still throws accusations towards the father who was uninformed of anything about the mother being pregnant with the ml.

She also refused him to be able to search about her background and information so either way he wouldn’t have been able to find her or the ml. If the mc’s parents haven’t said anything to the father he would have never realized that the mother died or they had a son together.

Anyways good story, good characters not that good of a mother.

To be honest, it’s more like 3.75 but let’s put it 4 rating. This story is a slice of life with slow pace, late romance and a bit of mystery.

A heartwarming flavor is always there as you read it, and dog-food is sufficient.

Can’t say there is something special and some people might even find it a bit boring, but I like it. It’s a good way to relieve your melancholy mood and warm your heart.

... more>> Almost no drama, only a needed amount in some places.

The relationship is not hot, but more mature and sweet.
My heart is very happy for ML, he really deserves it all.

This was one of the best reads for me. This novel encompasses a whole variety of emotions and myraids of feelings. There was no particularly tragic part in it but it sometimes made me cry, specially when ML rejected MC when he wanted to visit his house for the first time. The words that author used to describe ML's bitter and depressing feelings at that moment truly touched me, ML didn't want to invite MC to his house cuz it was way too small compared to... more>> MC's and he didn't want to bring his 'Prince' in such a crude place.

The whole novel goes from showing the beginning of their friendship to the love they developed for each other. There was innocent and pure friendship in the beginning which slowly turned into love between them. Did ML first fall in love? Not necessarily, tho he did confess first but MC unlike how he usually rejects confessions didn't do so, rather he was confused. For MC this was a first time being confessed by a boy and even if he liked ML he didn't realize it yet, luckily they didn't keep it suspense for long and he agreed in 2 days.

This is a fluffy, lighthearted novel, there is no angst, no dramas getting stretched for long, the ML is not perfect nor is MC but they're willing to accompany each other and help overcome it...

I saw a comment that said "the only downside of this novel is that ML isnt rich so he can't spoil the shou" I would disagree, if you want then go read an overbearing tyrant or CEO novel and not this. The ML of this novel is as perfect as it could get. He's portrayed as someone who doesn't care about people but when it comes to the person he likes he could get anxious and nervous too, displaying the sensitivity of a 17 y/o. This novel could get a bit boring for some people used to reading dramatic BL novels, during that time just switch to reading another novel or manhwa for a couple of hours.

The translation was done beautifully, each and every sentence was truly remarkable. The love words, ML describing his feelings, the pain and anxiousness and the difference in class and status. The words used to describe them made me feel butterflies in my stomach lol. Imma go ahead and read the other novel of Wen Mingyi and his Ge, have high hopes for it. <<less

Completed, didn't read extras. A great read!! MC possessing ML's Tmall Genie/something like Alexa or Google Assistant isn't that relevant to the plot, at first it was mentioned a lot but it started getting lesser. I think it's just there to help the relationship, nothing else, but not in a bad way. I actually like that it isn't the main focus of the novel and the relationship between MC and ML is too cute!! Sometimes my heart melts reading about how ML dotes on MC so much and how MC... more>> isn't too nosy about ML's private affairs. The things MC says to ML is really sweet and they care for each other so much. I think you can kind of see how MC slowly starts to feel more comfortable around ML and I think that's sweet.

So, 9/10 would recommend to people who want to see a sweet couple caring for each other. <<less
