Description
Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Today my mother-in-law was coming. Early in the morning me and my husband rushed to the train station after gobbling some food.
This should be the third time we’d meet. I had an intuition that we still wouldn’t get along this time. As for how unpleasant it would be, I dare not think about it, and I didn’t want to think about it.
the train my mother-in-law took finally arrived. I shouted to my husband while staring at my mother-in-law among the crowd, “Mom! We’re here. Mom…”Suddenly I stopped crying, because I saw a woman also carrying a lot of packages right behind my mother-in-law. That woman was my husband’s sister Lanhua, the child bride my mother-in-law had matched for my husband years ago.
What would happen after they came…

reading the story I'm wondering where the freaking tags come from cuz its all lies,
-this is all angst
-its a tragedy
-THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO GENDER-BENDER
*I edited them out
TBH I'm conflicted on how to rate this, I read it on a whim and completed it to chapter 200.
the story starts after the MC's MIL comes over to the city with her adopted daughter whom they had raised as a child-bride (CB), after their arrival there is never peace in the house as there are constant disagreements between MC, ML, MC husband and that CB. TBH in the arguments, you can't say who is right and who is not, there definitely were faults in everyone but the majority was the MIL starting things.
this story is truly very messy and if you can easily empathize with others as I can, you'd be able to realize what exactly everyone issue is. The novel definitely made me sympathize with all the crooked characters (the husband and his family) but sympathy is one thing that maybe they don't deserve. They all choose to make horrible decisions which only kept making the matter worse.
I don't like the MC but she was the victim and also the most innocent one in this situation. Her temper was bad and was impulsive and stubborn-this is what I understood about her.
The husband was tied down by many burdens and was stuck in between his mother/sister and wife. I truly realized his dilemmas but that does not mean that it's justified for him to do what he did. IMO his s*upid actions not only led to the destruction of his newly made family but also two women's lives. A major fault that led to him truly losing MC is that he had never been completely truthful with her. They lacked communication and he did things without asking for her opinions. Marriage is no longer a 'you' and 'me' situation but a 'US'. When he understood it, it was already too late. He had made irreversible mistakes in the past but he truly had loved MC, in fact, I feel that his personality is really suitable to be her husband and they match. Unfortunately with the MIL and CB things went downhill. He loved her too much but hid the darkness and inferiority in his heart which made him go down a worse path.
the child bride, I pity her-i really d0. She was given away by her parents to repay the debt of the MC's husbands dad dying to rescue her. She had no choice in the matter and so a young girl was raised to marry another she grows up with. Her catching feelings for her fiance was legit no one can find faults now, can you? Esp when the scum guy gave her hopes then claiming that he only treats her as a sister and has no other such love. However, no matter what in the end he married another so her thoughts on him should've ended but no. Even when the MC was willing to push the past to the back and treat her as the husband's sister she stubbornly refuses to give up her feelings. As an adult people should clearly distinguish between right and wrong and realize you are responsible for your actions. I really pity her because truly she was so easy to discard
in fact, I can keep going on and on about these characters and the decisions they made but ill stop here. It's basically a telling of how a marriage crumbled due to not just external but internal issues too. I hope that people who actually go thru such situations find their happiness.
this just makes my belief on 'marriage is not a matter of two people but two families' more firm and concrete. People should think twice and analyze before taking major steps in life. This is definitely not my usual cup of tea but I won't deny it makes one think deeper and leaves a bitter aftertaste.
in fact, I feel such stories should definitely be read more and popularized between both genders so they can understand the hardships after the honeymoon period.
