This novel is completely hopeless. And the reason is both the FL and ML is s*upid. Especially the FL. She is pathetic to the core, I repeat, she is pathetic to the core!!

There were many hints that her husband was going ashtray. But she, like a fool, ignored all those hints. I can just list those hints which was as plain as day that our FL ignored. Every woman knows when she sould start suspecting that her husband is cheating on her (I'm not married but I still know... more>> them. And our FL doesn't know, truly hopeless 😑). Still I'm listing them in case the author didn't know and need them.

1. If your husband ever brought another woman to your house (Except his mother or biological siblings), especially, if the woman was someone who had a thing with your husband in the past, divorce your husband.

2. If your husband gives that woman more right than you, divorce him right away!

3. If your husband forget about you and can fool around with the said woman, Divorce! Your! Husband!

4. If your husband keeps paying more attention to the woman, DIVORCE! HIM! RIGHT! NOW!

Here author. I helped you listing one of the four reasons why you should change the story. So read it, and please change the story, even if you have already completed it!

And all the readers out there, don't read this novel if you don't like hopeless FLs. Because this novel is worthy of its name. <<less

Status at chapter 1-5:

The first five chapters are heart wrenchingly melancholic. The translation does a terrific job of conveying the MC's unreliable narrative in real time and via flashbacks. You just want to reach into the novel to offer her a shoulder to lean on and the social support that she is decidedly lacking in.

Our resident transmigrated MC is deeply in love with her husband, but her own insecurities (and depression) cause her to only feel pain in anticipation of the end of their relationship. It also doesn't help that the ogHeroine isn't respectful of the boundaries of the duke (her distant relative) and his wife of three years (the MC). And everywhere she turns, the MC sees herself as an outsider.

Whilst I am not usually a fan of angst-ridden series, this story is a compelling read. I am invested into the MC's situation, desiring a happy ending for her and for the naysayers to finally recognize their own part in making her life miserable via their heartless words. The storytelling never feels contrived, being a great example showing rather than telling a story. <<less

Prepare to be seriously stressed out while reading this. This novel frustrates me in a good way haha. I don't know if I should be mad at the MC, or pity her. I really hope she gets the happy ending she deserves.

I just can't see her being happy with him, yk? Even if all of this is just a misunderstanding, he's hurt her too much for me to be able to overlook everything. I mean cmon, the source of almost all of her tears is him. How can we just simply overlook the pain that he caused her? Honestly, I just can't accept him being the ML. I really might drop it if he is. That's how much I hate this guy. But the way that things are going, he probably is the ML. That's why I could only rate this beautiful novel a two-star. If someone else was the ML, it would automatically go to a four-star. Five stars if the translation was a little better. It's good, it's just a little confusing here and there.

Ignoring all of that, this is a seriously good novel. If you want to cry, then read this because the tears will literally just flow out of you after seeing the things the MC goes through. Someone seriously comfort her. Please. <<less

The novel made me sigh aloud. It's the first time a novel has ever done that!

My main problem with it is that it's so boring and tedious.

FL, albeit rightfully, and understandably, has a pity party, but it's not very fun to read the thoughts of someone who spends paragraph after paragraph droning on and on about "woe is me", you know???

I feel bad for her and the tags "inferiority complex" and "unreliable narrator" are there for a reason, but her internal monologues are so dull to read. I don't even... more>> feel angsty or frustrated, I just feel that being in her mind must be tiring all the time.

And you know what?

Perhaps that is the author's intention!

Because really, if simply reading FL's thoughts is enough to make me so drained, imagine being the FL. Strangely enough, I can sort of sympathize with her (FL) as being in her mind is just exhausting.

Although the novel itself isn't too bad (but it's not that good either; shoutout to the translators who are doing their best, though!), I'm rating it 3/5 stars because the emotions it evokes in me while reading are mainly boredom and a sense of tiredness.

I have nothing to comment on the plot, because where I am now there isn't one as it's just full of FL's thoughts and assumptions, and there is no worldbuilding either. The characters are... Well, we have FL who is the most developed I guess?? And everyone else is kinda... two-dimensional.

Idk, it feels like a very draggy story.

It's also a pet peeve but I hate it when a character's existence is based on another person, which I feel applies to this story as FL based her self-worth and will to live on (presumably) ML, which is... concerning, to say the least, but often left unaddressed. <<less

One problem here is that FL wanted to go with the flow of the original novel, common in k-novels. That is how the miscommunication starts. I'm not saying it's only the fl's fault, the ML is the one who brought in another woman. No matter what the intention is, ML should consider the fl's feelings. Yes, they were just in a contractual relationship, and he has this one sided love for her, but be considerate as well. You might not know that the other party has the same feeling as... more>> you, but cannot tell because of the gender status and your rank status. She threatened you with your secret but she's living like a dead rat under your skin. And here's Rosalind enjoying the benefits of the gossips and the care you poured to her, while delusional of being your duchess after the divorce. ML was the one who made these women miserable. He was the one who made Rosalind into thinking that she has a chance after the divorce. He was the one who made his wife suffer and became miserable. Although, ml's intention is to punished the people behind his wife's suffering, he was the one who's making a giant wall between them. And the confession thing, he knows he was the one with a higher status, he should consider that that was the reason she cannot confess. FL also has this mode of not telling ML because of the original novel where she confessed in the past but ML did not reciprocated because he has his eyes only to the ogfl. In the current timeline, FL did not confesses because she's afraid that her feelings might not be reciprocated because everything will flow according to the original, so ML will detest her more if she shows her feelings. So when Rosalind came, she knew everything will come to an end, especially when she heard him sell their contract to Rosalind. He made Rosalind's motives stronger this way, he did not think that this woman might used this information against my wife or me in the future. He only focus on his so called one sided love. And when FL ran away, he regretted? Why? Because she did not confess until the end? It hurts your pride? The amnesia thing is as shallow and narrow as the ml's brain. It's good to read ml's sufferings more but I guessed it's just my rueful way of thinking. <<less

It definitely hits the spot if you're in the mood for an angsty novel. Her negativity at the beginning does drag on for a bit. It gets better as it goes along. Eventually the novel turns into everyone rooting for the husband to suffer, because he's unbelievably dumb. If you're into angst and regret, this might be worth a read.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS NOVEL!!!! It hasn't been uploading for a while now. PLS upload more!! The story is so intriguing. I really wanna know what happens next. The story brings out fl's emotions so well. It may not be for everybody but I really like the plot. MORE TRANSLATIONS PLSSS!!!

Like bro lived twice and has been a literal adult from the beginning but nooo. Still can’t bag a man or run from ab*sers then like what’s the point of reincarnating??? Initially, I read this for the ML cuz I thought he’d be different from all those generic mls who r so cold and broody and only kind to one person but NOPE. He turned to one in the end and admitted that he did it cuz he wanted to manipulate his wife to like him or smth. Like can’t we get a genuinely kind not so overpowered ML for once? The type who’d help his wife deal with their depression instead of amplifying it? Like I feel betrayed. I just wanted a kind ml. And of course the author HAD to throw in an amnesia trope in the end. There u have it folks. How could we not have an amnesia trope in a novel with a contract marriage tag.

Okay, I read this way back on 2023 and read through chapter 23-26 for my review and why I rate only this. (The k-novel is already complete but the English trans still haven't catching up so I'll just wait till it's catches up)

First for the FL, I pitty her but her problem is she's way too focused on her goal and the way she didn't express her emotions and thoughts specially when she heard the ML said those words that really hurt her, and I was happy that she... more>> choose to get away from them and let them be happy not knowing what he's doing.

Second the ML, okay hear me out, for the last chapters I've read I fking hate him I know, I know that he'll get better but the way he expressed his feelings to her and to get her attention by doing all of that action towards the red haired girl and making her jealous to the point that I feel the FL emotions how her heart is broken and throbbing in pain by just seeing things between those two that her mind came up with. (Ps. I also hate their servants!😠)

Third, Their lack of communication! This! This is truly they fking need! Like gurl communicate with your fking man to make your relationship with him a bit better atleast 🙄 <<less
