Since I wasn’t blessed with the talent for magic, I have been honing only my Barrier Magic since childhood, and I found myself becoming the best Barrier Mage in the country.

Whether it’s the cool Attack Magic, the convenient Magics or the special Summoning Magic, none of those were things I could do. The only thing I’m capable of was really just Barrier Magic.

Coming from a commoner’s background and rising through the ranks with only Barrier Magic, I was able to obtain a position as a Court Mage and had a noble lady as a fiancee.

My life seemed to be smooth sailing, but at my engagement party, my engagement was broken off and I was accused of a crime I didn’t commit.

I was also ousted from my position as a Court Mage, but if I wasn’t there, the Barrier Magic would be broken. Are you really sure about that?

It would've been more interesting to see how Shield created his barrier magic spells, but there's no real actual explanation on why they're so strong other than "he practiced the only thing he could for 10 years". So every fight he's in, it's pointless to expect anything much other than him casting barrier, and then if the opponent is a girl, she'll instantly proposes to him.

No characters actually have a personality worth mentioning -- all of them are stereotypical character tropes that never developed beyond anything besides being a bad... more>> antagonist or another harem member. Even Faye, the most interesting one out of the bunch, is nothing more than a gluttonous character.

All she had to do was to point out the problem. But, yeah, just dragged out the story, people love that, people love that VERY much.

The story was interesting at best, it's not good. The MC were put "on a handicap, but nope" type of development. However, it could be without power development as MC's power already well established. But, who knows.

Helena Kingdom, Knight Commander, former fiancee. I'm 99% sure they'll serve as a problem generator from now own. Undying, always fail, never learned a lesson, underestimating, and most importantly... annoying.

How could I tell? well, I can't. But, seeing people and girls keep flocking around MC, it's easy to imagine what value will Helena Kingdom have. The word antagonistic, no matter how form, was easier to picture more than anything.

That said, calling it the final straw was a bit of an exaggeration. I only read 13, and it certainly won't do justice from my end. So, I might read this again. <<less

Very simple novel, with lots of cliches and bad writing, and the humor is something only 5 years old would find funny.

Lots of stuff never gets explained, like exactly how magic works (like the MC barrier, exactly what do people see? A giant dome over their heads? A transparent wall? How does it handles stuff like rain?), what people are saying/doing with their family/friends getting killed by the hundreds, etc.

Only really recommended if you have nothing else to read, and I would really recommend just to re-read your favorite novel... more>> instead <<less

Well this story is not what you may be expecting, the world building is not explained well, the character development is poor.

Plus the only thing the author signify is the strength of his barrier without proper explanation of how it works, the weakness it posses or any other thing.

The early chapters were interesting but I lost interest as I proceed further. <<less

Medium quality. I personally find it to be too much self insert but maybe others would be fine with it? The problem is the MC's personality. He starts acting out of character and eventually becomes a different person. It is actually impressive in a way because none of the characters are particularly deep. So it becomes very obvious that this is just the author imagining himself as the MC.

Other than that, this is the same thing you see from other mediocre stories from this genre. The MC has a broken... more>> power which draws in super talented people to help him build a wonderful kingdom and all obstacles are easily overcome. Also multiple amazing women are determined to have s*x with him and fight for his affection.

It is not good enough to recommend but if you read the genre, you might as well give it a shot to see if you like it. The genre in this case would be kingdom building and whatever you call these stories where the MC has a cheat and everything is easy for them. <<less

Cannot recommend, period. Every character is one dimensional, MC is an unintentional parody of a doormat.

The atmosphere is also nonexistent. Nothing is every described properly, and the pacing is horrible. Author doesn't know how to write more than one line of text at once, so everything is super brief, but everything is also being constantly repeated every chapter. (Barrier strong, kingdom s*upid, MC looks weak, I can attack cause I only use barrier, villain s*upid, Waifu endlessly chasing one step behind MC)

If you want a good Idea for a... more>> new novel. Copy this exact novel, but add detail and Make the MC a confident (Or at least a proactive) guy, as the base for the plot is something really interesting but that no one has ever done properly.

It's a 5 star if you're a masochist and hate yourself tho. <<less
