instigates the village (who are also kind of crappy people) to beat the fetus of the ML's sh-tty sister to death under the idea that because the sister was r-ped and forced to marry her r-pist the fetus is the cause of all the bad luck happening in the village. He justifies this as a life for a life because the sister killed the original owner of the body and honestly the ML seems to think it's f'd up too but doesn't really pursue it cause the family treated him as garbage and he swore to live a good life with the main character and their son. Like if you want to kill the sister that's one thing but the unborn child literally didn't do anything, which, fair play to the sister, she said out loud (while asking them not to, you know, kill her child) but of course the crowd is too brain dead and malicious to listen to Her. It just leave a bad taste in my mouth.

like, these people are definitely terrible and a lot of them could probably die and I wouldn't blink an eye but the child... that feels a little too far. Not to mention the sudden death that preceded this where the MC tries to get his father and the fathers concubine to fight each other and it ends with the concubine straight up killing herself and the MC is like "how do I use this opportunity to profit" instead of something normal like "a person just killed themself in front of me wtf get a doctor." That's behavior I expect out of a different genre, rather than this type of farming-child raising-get rich type of story.
