Extremely cringey at first and it still is sometimes but I think the author is slowly getting better. It's worth a read if you're waiting on your other novels to update.

why is this series so entertaining XD

I love all the misunderstandings, and him thinking that everyone around him are just playing along for his sake lol.

I really like how they portray the POVs where if it’s first person it’s the MC but if it’s third person kinda it’s the other characters.

... more>> The side characters are fun to read, and I like how they glorify Shadow, despite him being so stupid sometimes.

Im just waiting for the Catharsis of when every misunderstanding is fixed and what everyone’s reactions will be when they find out the guy they thought was weak was the mastermind behind everything! I also hope he figures out that everything he’s made up as a kid was true cause I find this whole thing hilarious! XD

This was a great find! Not to mention, unlike some other translations, these are really easy to read (some chapter not to much but majority is pretty good) I hate how sometimes it’s hard to understand what’s happening or it gets boring halfway though in other novels I’ve read. This had been entertaining all the way though, and I’m looking forward to the chapters from hereinafter! <<less

All I want is for Rose to retain her love for Sid even after their separate and would be better if she's still in love w/ him even after she knew the truth that he is Shadow. She's the only one outside of the Seven Shadows who fell in love w/ him despite all of his flaws so our chuuni protagonist deserves someone like her.

Anyways. The only flaw I can say w/ this novel is that Sid is somehow annoying w/ how he's so fixated on being a mob. Can't... more>> the author make him be be low profile w/out insisting being a mob? Sid's more annoying than Tillia. <<less

Now don't get me wrong, this is a good story...... at the start. Then things get stale. There's only so many times the same tropes can be repeated and still remain funny. Honestly would have been far better if it was shorter or had more character evolution. Yes I know it's a comedy that doesn't take itself seriously and I have nothing against the plot. It's just that this is not a binge read recommendation. Pick it up when you feel like it, give it a break and repeat. It... more>> will put a smile on your face, I'll give it that. <<less

I like this story very much. When you read a lot of novels, over time the stories will interchange, that is not the case here. I find myself laughing at random places and I enjoy myself very much. Looking forward to what the story will bring next.

Love it! This novel is fun to read. The novel is stupid? Write your own novel to satisfied your taste.

Who cares about MC's obsession with staying in the shadow? I don't even know what the MC is thinking about.

I've waited how the MC try to look cool in every arc. How desperate he wants to look weak and foolish. The only thing I don't like is that north-korean nuke missile that the MC is affraid of. But thats small stuff.

I predicted in the end of the story, the MC is... more>> livin in the shadow as the shadow, protecting the world in the shadow with his harem err shadow minions... another alternative is the MC choose his main girl and continue living for another 200 years, protecting the world from evil... yeah..

Dont get too serious with this... its a comedy <<less

God damn it this is too funny... the comedy is so strong even the obvious horrifying scene seems usual.

on one chapter the MC got tortured and all of his fingernails are plucked but the way the story portrayed it seems so usual

As of now, this WN is a prime example of using a cliche and putting a twist that readers will enjoy. Hopefully, it won't down spiral to become a generic WN wherein generic, for me, is stopping midway.

The one thing I only wonder is if the chunnibyou of MC will destory his being once he knows the truth.

Absolutely brilliant

This is one of the few webnovel that is actually self aware about its own nature

this novel is far from perfect, there is a lot of detail that is glossed over just like in many other "isekai" novel, the plot armor is thick, it is often being ridiculous but because the author is aware of his novel nature it is used properly and become a good thing instead of taking the reader out of the immersion, in many other novel if there is something ridiculous or inconsistent then usually... more>> it is the author's fault, the lack of research and or just general knowledge then result in a less logical world and or characters, well no one is perfect so I can tolerate that to a certain degree, the problem is if the author is not aware of their own shortcoming, that will end up in a disappointing and immersion breaking novel

so yea, if you like stupid comedy isekai OP chuuni MC story then this is for you <<less

Normally, I don't like misunderstanding theme. It is so annoying how delusional MC can be when he see other doing what they do.

But this novel is a bit funny. The misunderstanding part is from he playing house and the world just ridiculously playing house with him.

And I found this re**** MC is a bit cool so... I give this novel 4 stars! LoL

... more>> Now I know why I don't hate this misunderstand theme novel.

Because it play with the tropes by reversing something.

As you all know in some fantasy fighting for the world peace, there will always be some secret organization coming out, sometime helping the MC, sometime MC will hear bad rumor about them and sometime MC will have conflict with them.

But you will always find those secret boss not enemy nor friend to be super cool. More cool than the MC himself. In that fantasy novel, they will describe the real face of this secret frenemy boss in the ending arc or the author forgetting all about them and the secret boss remaining as a secret. LoL

This story can be closing that plot hole up. Why the secret frenemy boss remain as secretive until the end? Here! Because he is just chuunibyou abduct from our world playing some trope he so love all his life.

This way you can see MC is so stronggggg but look weak in the eyes of other. And suddenly become strong so OP no one can take. Looping this as shouen manga with a reasonable plot. All because MC like to act weak and reveal his true strength as his habit of chuunibyou.

Oh My! this is genius! I can never think of this kind of idea. LoL <<less

I cringed initially, there was a WTF moment somewhere in the first few chapters but once you get over it, you’ll just get swept along with the mistunderstood current. Personally I look forward most to the outsider’s perspectives more then the MC, the MC is like the comedic relief while everything else is the story. He sets the foundations and everything else just rolls with him, if that makes sense.

If you can get past the first few chapters it’s a worthwhile light read.

This web novel may not be the next literature jewel you will stumble upon but it is still a enjoyable read.

So far it seems like one of those generic OP protagonists who will cake walk all obstacles within the story. That is perfectly fine as long as obstacles presented are either fresh, interesting, and/or humorous. I can say so far so good on meeting at least two.

The writing is unconventional, cutting out many details and giving a fast pace story disregarding a lot of details. This may hurt the novel... more>> plot wise but again it isn't a literature jewel nor is it aiming to be. It is just a chapters you breeze though while being slightly amused.

I hope this web novel keeps the humor fresh and even with having generic tropes and pitfalls of isekai still manage to provide amusement instead of eye-rolling repetition.

Therefore, I would recommend you give this a glace as the pace of the novel will allow you to judge whether you will enjoy it within few chapters. <<less

Amazing story, it is funny yet still has great action scenes and an interesting world. Usually, such stories are just for fun with barely any plot and rediculous powers but here you can have both. MC is lucky but the powers he achieved is solely through his training and crafting, not some sudden powerup or finding an object.

To be honest, I thought this series gonna be like generic Isekai, but it turned to be a decent one, still worth to read I suppose.

Let's see, MC got a nice humor and silly character. The setting itself wasn't bad, like a secret organization hunting other secret organization. Kind of remind me about Eiyuu densetsu's snek society Ouroboros at first, but somewhat it gotten like Overlord style vibe. MC has no interest in romance or whatsoever, so you might think 'what this sh*t doing?' kind of reaction though. But at... more>> least, I got a good laugh on this. <<less

this novel is great, you can say it's unique hard to say for other isekai novels

I have something am confused about in chapter 167

Mordred retrieved something from his pocket.

As he opened his palm, something drifted down from it. Bright like spring water-- they were strands of hair.

And rose happened to know someone with such beautiful and strange hair.

“Wait, that’s--”

That clear springwater hair was that of Epsilon.

but in the spoilers on the same chapter says

To prevent that, Cid does some mana puppetry, making normal people as strong as magiswords.

He then met up with Epsilon again and went into some ruins were the hero Freyja was sealed up.

is Epsilon ok ? Am confused was she captured or all mordred got is some hair?

Its a pretty fun read the MC is fun to read as he's a insane vigilante chuuni that just act's his way through situations with a stupidly high levels of coincidences to make him look the all knowing omnipotent enigmatic figure known as Shadow but there is one thing that he values almost as much as his role as the Eminence in the shadows is that meticulous role of a MOB character he careful made and maintains in order to truly hide in plain sight as his MOB character no... more>> one will ever suspect him to be Shadow <<less

The main character is a full-blown, off-the-walls chuuni. It was fun to read in the beginning how he tries to justify the existence of magic and ends up losing it, all in the quirky voice of his inner monologue.
