The ordinary office worker, Cha Jeong-woo, found himself transmigrated into a BL novel his younger sister used to read. Fortunately, apart from age, educational background, and college peers, nothing seemed to have changed.

Despite drawing a clear line, claiming indifference to the fate of the main couple, and insisting on the irrelevance to himself, chance encounters with the supporting character continued, and the guy kept catching his eye.

“…Jeong-woo, I’m in pain.”
“Hey, what do I do if you suddenly cling to me? I get it, so move aside quickly.”
“…I’m really hurting. Don’t push me away just because it’s frustrating.”

The occasional concern for a guy who wasn’t in the best health, the gift of a summer cardigan, and the reason behind replacing the worn-out band on his bruised fist. Despite denying it amidst accumulating doubts, eventually—

“I… like Min Si-heon, the supporting character in this novel.”

Treating him not just as a friend but also feeling affection. It was an unrequited love with no chance. Deciding to keep a distance for a while, convinced that seeing Min Si-heon would only make the heartache worse…

“Jeong-woo, why aren’t you answering my calls?”
“Is everything okay?”
“Could you please pick up the phone?”
:
:
“Jeong-woo, please contact me before I come to catch you.”

Read up to chapter 2

I appreciate the time translator spent to translate this novel but reading this mtl is hard. Chapters are not edited and I had to read three pharagraphs 3 time. I think translator wanted to edit mtl but I became harder to read the novel. I would rather wait for someone to put a good translation and not a mtl. I hardly understand whats going on.

Im not going to rate it because the problem is with the tranlation not with the novel

... more>> Read up to chapter 57

So I went and read the mtl on a another website... it was much better. Up to chapter 34 it was boring it was mc' POV so I skiped it. I was planing to skip the chapters if it was like this but then I read something... and it was the
Spoiler

confession. Yes they confessed at chapter 34

[collapse]
And it was soooo intersting that I kept reading.... then I witnessed something better... you all know what I'm talking about if you have read the tags (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

AND THEN I WITNESSED SOMEYHING BETTER. ML'S POV. It was *chef kiss*
Spoiler

ML was obsessed with MC EVEN before his transmigration🤣. Basically he is one of those mls that doesn't feel anything. Then they meet someone that show them kindness and they become obsessed. And what I really like is that ogMC cares for MC too much that he doesn't want MC get togeather with ML becuase he knows he's acting kind so that MC get close to him🤣. OgML doen't care for MC this much but doesn't stop ogMC from keeping MC from ml. He also help MC recognise his feeling for ML (i was really surprised reading this part)

[collapse]

Oh and
Spoiler

ML is super obsessed. Like I'm for sure if this novel was one of those dark novels that MC wanted to runaway from ml... he would have died or somebody would have died because of ML

[collapse]
Smut was good but my advise if you want to read this novel is that skip 35 chapters because ml's POV explain his POV in those 36 chapters and you know what happened in those chapters

Also dear Translator I read the notice you wrote and I have something to ask you... how can ogMC be a woman when MC said he transmigrated in a bl novel? <<less

Hi, I'm the translator of this novel.

I decided to dropped the novel since I received a lot of complains about the translation and also it's not properly edited that was my mistakes and also I didn't proofread it.

I just dropped this hoping someone would pick this up. And wanted to say sorry for wasting everybodies time. Please forgive me

I won't TL a BL again so that you guys won't see a tr*sh translation like this. Once again I'm very very sorry.

Gosh, the way the author keeps jumping timelines gives me a headache. I'm not sure which scenes came first at times because of how the author keeps recalling old memories. I'm getting a whiplash over the POVs as well. Seems like an interesting story but the execution is a little... meh.

There are some parts I enjoyed. Like how the MC sorted out how he felt and the readers didn't have to get dragged through a million chapters before we got a resolution.

For prospect readers, if you can grit your teeth... more>> and push through all the errors of translation and a confusing author, then maybe you'll find something good I guess. Goodluck tho. <<less

The title may be 'The Sublot of this Novel is Peculiar', but it is the stream of consciousness writing that is truly peculiar. The story jumps all over the place, from one of the protagonists thoughts to another. Then it swaps to the Male Lead's perspective of everything that had been written so far

This means that it feels like it takes forever for anything to happen and you have to reread large sections once there is finally a literary climax.

This book might be a masterpiece if the translator... more>> had bothered with any proofreading. This type of artistic novel absolutely suffers from any use of MTL or AI. It requires a human touch for the writing to draw you into these emotions of the two protagonists the original author was trying to share with the readers. Unfortunately, I broke my sense of immersion several times a chapter. I found the story boring thanks to this, but I didn't hate what the author was attempting.

This is a relatively interesting dive into a relatively normal relationship. The major abnormality of their lives is that the main character's world (though a version of it from several years in the past) seems to have merged into a book world overnight. The 'transmigration' provides the readers some context into the overall situation. The extra years do not help the main character mature much. He gains a heavy smoking addiction at a young age and the foreknowledge is not very helpful. He does know two of his friends will become a couple in advance. The main purpose of this 'insight' is just to give him a massive misunderstanding about his own future lover. It does not seem to add to the plot in a particularly positive way. The true highlight of this book is still the exploration of the two protagonists as they navigate an obsessive love and try to make very different personalities work together despite both of them bearing a temper. The two clearly care for each other. Still, they must put in effort to maintain a relationship through everyday mundane struggles. When is the right time to:

  • confess?
  • move in together?
  • inform their friends that they are dating?
  • inform their family?
  • ask about each others pasts?
  • reveal the white lies and expose their little secrets?
  • show their true selves?
  • set healthy boundaries?
  • buy a gift?
  • apologize?
  • share insecurities?
  • reveal you have to take care of something at school instead of your partner?
  • comfort each other?
  • say "I love you"?
Real life can make the smallest issues messy, and the author manages to catch this aspect well. The only thing this couple seems to get right is physical intimacy. They have a real spark and the fire burns passionately and in great detail. The author does not write many of their s*x scenes, but the ones depicted are very intense and less contrived than most smut on NU. It is believable and more than worth the annoying amount of chapters I had to slog through to get there.

I really think this story might be a diamond in the rough. It is worth a try as is if you can ignore genders getting swapped around, names getting used for the wrong characters, janky grammar, and sections of text getting summarized instead of translated. I do plan to reread if it gets a serious translation. My rating is low because I just could not enjoy the story much despite my overall appreciation for the plot. Part of this is definitely the style of writing itself, and not entirely the fault of the translator, or I would have rounded up instead of down on my star rating. I admit I am curious if a serious translation might change my mind about that 3.5 rating or if the book itself is just not as good as I think it might be after some proper polishing. <<less

Someone for the love of god please add a [horror] tag here. I love this novel for the depth of its characters, but holy- I LOVE the dynamics going on here. The premise of the story already gives away the tone, but the execution is fantastic- the way the MC himself isn't a reliable narrator without it being too obnoxious, and how eventually it's the main character, Jeong-woo, who needs the help of the protagonists from our not-so-sane ML. One other thing I appreciate is how our MC wears his... more>> heart on his sleeve- he's not so tender a person, but when he's forced to face his real feelings, the way he needs to give himself time and the consequent, immediate impact it has on him is stellar writing.
