Only after his death did Lu Xiaoning learn that he was the cannon fodder real young master in the book “Fake Young Master Is The Hearthrob”.

He was swapped by his adoptive parents at birth. The real parents and brothers who learned the truth took him home, but had no intention of sending the fake young master away. When the fake young master blatantly bullied him, everyone turned a blind eye, and when he fought back, everyone blamed him.

So he tried every possible way to frame the fake, but he died first at his hands. After his death, he transmigrated to another Danmei novel, he just needed to be a heartless green tea scum and he could be reborn. After completing the task, he was reborn back in the original world, mastered the full level of green tea skills and he, step by step, got back everything that belonged to him.

# His parents and brothers wanted to make up for him # # The fake young master loved him so much that he was willing to give up his seat # When Lu Xiaoning became a group pet, he was shocked to find that the prince of the plutocrat family Xie Peiran, who had been clinging to him since he was reborn, was his “scum” countless times in the task worlds. Xie Peiran pushed Lu Xiaoning, who was bound by him, onto the sofa: “Baby, follow me.”

I had high hopes for the novel mainly because of the unique premise but it was really so disappointing.

There are only 4 chapters translated at the time I'm writing this review so I read the mtl which was pretty easy to understand, I'm mentioning this because I know that MTL isn't really an accurate way to judge the writing but it really is too awful. It can't be saved by the argument "it's just bad translation". Let me explain further, this feels like someone's first time attempting to write,... more>> there is no such thing as subtlety, everything has to be spelled out more than once, for example: MC does something, the dialogue explicitly explains what he's doing, then he explains it again to the system while also explaining why and how he did it as if we can't read and understand. Everyone is explaining what they feel in the dialogue or their inner monologue. The author also wanted to imitate that thing in modern danmei where they get to write whatever they want disguised as netizen comments (for example oh I know these two are a cp, or just being fangirls) but in this non celebrity context (at least at first) it made no sense. They'd be at a company, where the ML is the CEO but the employees are bold enough to act like netizens talking loudly and no one says anything. Anyway all of this was okay, I was constantly midly annoyed but I powered through it and wanted to see where it was heading.

My last straw however was when the plot started making no sense in my opinion. I can tolerate anything but once even the plot starts getting weird I'm out

Spoiler

Basically even though MC finished doing missions in the system world, he still has the system with him, which was weird but I ignored it. But when the system randomly started giving missions again (sleep in the same bed as ML in 24hours or die) it was like a switch flipped and I was instantly turned off. Yes I suspected that the ML might be controlling the system but to issue missions to MC after he "won" and got his wish, all as a cheap tool to make the main couple get together, so that MC would take the initiative, it was so unbearable to read tbh.

[collapse]

Maybe it's because I read a lot of novels in this specific genre, with these specific tropes, It all feels like a very bad imitation. I just wanted to leave my review since there aren't any and possibly save future readers. <<less
