Tang Xi, a genius at mystic arts, transmigrated into a novel about the true and fake heiress, becoming the real daughter maliciously switched out by her own father.

Book Tang Xi had envied the female protagonist, tried to steal the male protagonist, and in the end died a miserable death.

Tang Xi tore apart the script of a dog-blood drama filled with rich-family infighting. What use were those scummy parents anyway? Wasn’t building her own career far better?

She was very busy cutting off yin energy, dispelling evil, and seeking justice for wronged souls.

As for those who insisted on delivering themselves to her door, begging for torment— Shut the door and release the ghosts!

It's pretty bad. The translator has done a fine job and deserves a pat on the back for taking this one on but anything short of a rewrite and and a good editor helping can't save this one.

From the synopsis. The MC transmigrates into a switched at birth novel and immediately wants away from the family. OK. This is an interesting game to play and it can be enjoyable if done well but it isn't. There's no rhyme or reason to why she wants out immediately. The main character is... more>> trying to run away from the family like a scalded animal. Which leaves the reader scratching their head.

The next thing you know the novel shifts into being Tang Xi highschool Metaphysical Detective and goes episodic minute mysteries with ghosts. Once again can be fun if done well, it just wasn't. The mysteries wind up being solved by the MC pulling the answer out of her a$$ and the reader is left scratching their head again and again.

As the novel progresses the author does try to tie story line together but it's a 4 handed facepalm moment

Spoiler

It turns out the original Tang Xi from the novel, managed to become Tang Jing (the heroine / fake daughter, can't figure out how she qualifies as a heroine) and swallowed her soul ?? This somehow pulls in current Tang Xi. But it also turns out dad TZY was the one who switched the kids at birth so he could have a kidney donor 16 years later

Toss in writing that's nearly impossible to follow. I found myself continuously re reading scenes to find where something was said, who was saying things, how did they get where they were and where did X come from. In short the writing was unpleasant to read.

Lastly there were the characters, well if you can find them let me know. All I saw were cardboard cutouts pretending to be characters.

Bottom line: This novel was mostly filler and nonsense <<less

Decently written, interesting story with some tense-ish moments - It's not a scary horror, but I find the various cases interesting to follow; though we know the OP-MC (with her OP-ghostly entourage) is gonna steam-roll her opponents. MC transmigrated into the body of a girl switched-at-birth, and taken to her real 'family'. She noticed their callousness towards the original, and wants nothing to do with them in terms of karmic cause-and-effect, and thus makes full effort to cut them off.

There's not much romance so far, considering MC is 16-17 and... more>> ML is 24+. There are no 2-bit brain dead antagonists at school/useless family drama - the story is mostly focused on MC solving supernatural crimes, while trying to catch the shadow of the main antagonist (the one behind all those crazy supernatural happenings). From time to time, other character interactions add some humor/change of pace required to maintain a decent read. <<less

i think I would have liked this better if I managed to read a genuine translation because while it had a solid story that addressed almost everything and left almost no plot holes behind. But I couldn't fully appreciate it because of the MTL. I could have done away with some of the filler arcs though, but overall, this was a good read.

I started getting angry and unhappy with the story after ... more>>

having MCs' body run off but they didn't even try guarding her body while she was doing them a favor. By changing bodies so they wouldn't lose out on a big deal. Sure MC said it could take around 3days. They should at least guard her body incase someone might harm her body.

She found her body surrounded by punk men acting all dazed and dumb while he (in MCs' body) ran/walk enough to go that far. The guy in her body not only escaped the house, he even got surrounded by men that could of taken advantage of her body.

He (Pei Qingzhi) was conscious enough to call her a nickname Xixi not long after but not defend or protect the body he was in. He should of known it wasn't his body easily and not run around but he does. He could be a bit brain damaged but that makes no excuse that people didn't protect and watch her body, or even let him (in MCs' body) run/escape that far in that time.

I think it's pretty decent. In my opinion everything was explained -- it doesn't even use the worse webnovel logic lol.

I would rate the first 2/3rds a 3.5. After that it has become a 3.

At first there were the ghosts of the week, high school, getting to know the ML, complex family relationships and high society. After the first 2/3rds it's become exclusively focused on the monsters of the week. Getting to know the ML (not in a relationship yet at chapter 138) takes place in the filler between arcs.... more>> College is rarely mentioned and the complex family relations were resolved.

Spoiler

Chapter 139 may be a turning point in their relationship as the ML asks MC to go to an event together. About 10 - 15 chapters ago / in the filler before the current arc ended they were photographed by the paparazzi. This is not mentioned again until 139 where the ML mentioned it's okay for them to go to the event together as people already assume they are together and that they were on hot search

I'll give my final rating when I'm finished. <<less
