Plot is good and exciting. But, I dropped it when people and even the 26 (?) years old ML wants the 17 years old FL to grow up faster. It's kinda disgusting.

Disclaimer: No complain to the translator or the site, I actually really love most of the hosted translations. My favourite thing is I can binge on them. Thank you very much (⁠◍⁠•⁠ᴗ⁠•⁠◍⁠) ⁠✧⁠*⁠。

Comedic fluffy story about a fierce female general from ancient fantasy times who transmigrates into a 17 year old high school entertainment trainee student and binds a Top Star system to master all celebrity skills.

I love the FL. She's hardworking, domineering, silly, warm hearted, ruthless, etc. She trains very hard and has the combat/strength/fight/scheming skills of a general, the roguish shamelessness of a bandit leader, the romance of a wooden block, but the slim beauty and celebrity skills given by the system. She reminds me of the FL in "Smash... more>> All Pots and Pans To Go To School". She looks 17, but it feels like she's really a middle/prime-aged bandit general on the inside.

The 25 yo ML was a teenage special forces sniper until he was wounded at 16, then he turned to become a top celebrity/entertainment boss. (Since I like the transmigrated female general trope, I decided I can suspend disbelief in how OP the leads are... at least it's not as jarring as in other novels...)

The novel seems to be set half in the entertainment world, and half in the military special forces.

There's a positive kind of patriotism (so far), shown by the warm portrayal of the upright, competent police and military forces protecting the nation. Plus, the FL was a defending general, so it kind of makes sense. (So far, there are no degrading foreigner stereotypes, nationalized victim mentality or toxic patriotism, thank goodness).

Some of the people around her have memories from her first life.

Her brother was her unicorn mount. The foxy scheming black-bellied ML was her war strategist, etc.

The story goes through several story arcs, and they're interesting and funny. From the trainee competition, the concert tour, the military base, the military college, the variety shows, even the retirement village for old soldiers was hilarious. I liked reading more about their extended families.

(The FL's mom and the ML's mom are special forces rivals, and the FL's grandpa is the terror of the retired military community, haha. The FL's dad is a tycoon, and the ML's dad is a military rocket scientist).

Age gap: When the story starts, the ML is 25 and the FL is 17, and there is no romance. He starts to get interested in her from afar, and she's a hardworking student trainee. After she is 18, she is an adult and can openly date, but he waits for her. If anything, once she is aware of his interest in her, she's the one who wants to rush their relationship.

There's mention of "3 years", but that's because the minimum age of marriage for females is 20. So they can date, but even if they wanted to, they'd have to wait until she's 20 to marry. It doesn't mean she's underage for 3 years, she's only underage for a few months in the story and nothing physical happens.

There are some requisite social media wars and netizen comments for the entertainment world, but they're not too annoying. (Often, chinese entertainment novels depict water armies/navies/paid troll farms to slander and manipulate online opinion, but this novel was honest enough to actually call them "cyberbullying studios" at one point. Anyway, the social media commentary is present, but not awful/overpowering, thank goodness.)

Some of the translated terms are inconsistent, like the girl group name, the entertainment company name, even the FL's name in the description above, etc. It'd be nice if the translator could fix that.

I hope the story ends well, it's a really good, comedic, fluffy, read so far. <<less

It took me quite some time but I still crave for more huhuhu. It was really interesting and fun.

Anyway, to start with, it's kind of a Mary Sue FL but hey, although the rewards of the system were too extravagant, at least, the FL still worked very hard, in short, it's the combination of the Mary Sue aura and hard work. There's a lot of illogical things ... more>>

such as, no one ever questions where does the FL's money and company came from, where does her very expensive things came from, what's with the sudden change, etc. As for the latter, well, maybe her family belived that her sould will be completed when she turns 17 (which indeed happen) so no one asked about her changes.

I like the FL's character design so much.

She's bold, hardworking, funny, naive, loyal, proactive, competitive, and passionate. Her love for her motherland amazed me the most, the weird circuit of her brain is next. Actually, she's very lovable. But not the "kind" lovable type okay. She's a female general, therefore it's expected that she's fiery. But even so, she's big hearted and despite her past life's experience, she retains her naivety but when she's on her soldier mode, she's very sharp. Anyway, I really, really like her a lot.

As for the fox ML, of course he's also lovable! He's indeed black bellied but he's not the typical smiling fox on the outside but extremely cold on the inside, in fact, as a former soldier, he still has the instinct to protect the common people, but it's really refreshing to see an ML who experienced a lot, yet retains his playfulness and childishness. He's petty and jealous (especially to Guozi lol).

As for the supporting characters, be it Nan Chaoyang, the ML's 4 childhood friends, the instructors, Destiny Girls, etc. They are all funny and interesting. They are quite an integral part of the story— or perhaps, the leading characters' growth, therefore, although they don't have much of a role, I enjoyed reading about them a lot. Especially the little pony— I mean, the little brother with a sister complex. The ML's family, especially the enthusiastic mother in law are also excellent and amusing. All in all, although there are some little villains at some part of the story, it can be ignored because the story is mostly funny, and the supporting characters are indispensable in that.

Next is the romance, it's pretty early (although the FL's slightly dense, but she's direct and proactive), it's kinda sweet but really, it's more than of a comedy lol. The ML advances, the FL can't get it. But it's a pity that there's no extra chapters about their kids though.

Lastly, the story mostly revolves around the FL reaching the top (just like the title says), but I can say that it's more or less related to her military career because she's more ambitious in strengthening herself rather than anything else. Therefore, the sense of patriotism in this story is very strong. The action scenes are also very thrilling and even funny most of the times (blame it all to the FL's weird brain circuit!)

Overall, it's 10/10 for me. There are a lot of illogical circumstances but nevermind that and you'll enjoy it as I do. I can't say that it's lighthearted because patriotism, terrorism, drugs, etc. Should not be taken lightly, however, it's pretty much relaxing due to the comedic undertone.
