The Hawk Soars in Mizuho’s Skies ~Plastic Expert Reincarnated as a Noble’s Daughter so Japan Will Become a Nation Founded on Chemistry~

Meiji 34 (1901), Youko, the youngest daughter of Takatsukasa—one of the five regent houses, was only four years old when she invented a method to synthesize white thread from chemicals. This thread was known as “Nylon 66”, a substance that should have been discovered in America. This isn’t surprising considering Takatsukasa Youko was a macromolecular chemist that lived in the Reiwa era, more than 120 years in the future, and kept her memories as she reincarnated as a girl.
This is an era where the world macromolecule does not exist and a story of her hard struggle to change Japan’s history.

Translator giving 5 stars to the web novel they as usual. Objectively, it's a 4 star. Don't know why the main character had to gender bend, since it would have been find if he was left as a dude, but we don't judge. After all, gender bend is my favorite. Let's get started with this story is about.

Most people will think it's s*upid that the main character ... more>>

I don't think you should drop the novel or give it a 1 star rating because of so.

The main character, Youko, goes back to Meiji era Japan, when Japan was starting to rise as a world power, but was going through many issues as well. So far, Youko has not shown many obvious signs of racism, but there are clear hints of nationalism from the author's narration, but seeing what kind of plot this novel upholds, it is not suprising to have the main protagonist want Japan to become a better nation.

Many will inquire, but I have not seen the author so far touch on any topics like Japanese war crimes, and the author may completely ignore topics so their novel does not go through any controversy.

Overall, the main character does introduce some cool stuff, like Nylon 66, used in many products today. You also get some cool war strategies and introduction to guns and weaponry used in early 1900s Japan. It's mostly a war focused novel with some cool aspects to it. If you're a war nerd, this is the novel for you, otherwise, still an enjoyable novel to read on your free time. <<less
