This story is pretty good. Also she doesn't have a stick up her ass she has standards. She's the precious daughter of a Marquis and always remained low key. This doesn't mean she's stuck up or full of herself it just means she was raised to a certain class. Her reputation of being a refined lady was extremely high to the point where they made her marry early. And they marry her to the Duke of Vaisel? How the f*ck do you expect her to react when she gets sold... more>> off, she's aware she's getting sold off but accepts it because it's her family, to a f*cking f*ckboy who d*mn there f*cked almost every woman in society when he was her fiancee? Not only that the man had a constant smell of cigarettes and had no manners. She has every right to not particulaly be fond of him for being a degenerate. Also his "compliments" or passes at her were so insincere and frivolous why the f*ck would she need to accept it? What high horse do you need to be on to reject this low class man? And this is all said in the first chapter??? Also he flirted with her but he still cheated on her so when she rejected him that doesn't make her a b*tch, if she doesn't like him she doesn't like him. He was not sincere. Nor was he ever a good person he took advantage of many girls who the FL could name that cried many nights about him. So I dont feel bad that he was rejected.

Also what he does to her later literally in the next chapter??? He literally f*cked a girl on there WEDDING NIGHT while she cluelessly waited in the bedroom until later. She thought he would at least hide his debauchery on there wedding night but he went and cheated because his pride was hurt. On her wedding night she sat alone in the bedroom until she got up and went to ask where he was. The servants were hesitant to tell her until she demanded to know. And all she sees is him f*cking a girl in his office. Quote from the text "On the first night that the new bride was looking forward to, she was nothing other than deserted." Later he falls in love with a new girl and frequently dated her. Not only jeopardizing there marriage but her reputation. And then got mad when she told him to put it somewhat under wraps. And guess what man caught disease and the woman he gave gifts to every day for the past couple of months did not visit him once. But before this he had told his wife/FL how dare she utter the love of his lifes name and threw papers of him cheating at her. But the girl he loved didn't visit him once?

This was within the first 3 chapters and simply a prolouge/ the backstory leading up to the actual story. He's not the ml, the story really starts around chapter 4 after this backstory. I recommend it. I just couldn't stand that someone said that she was on her high horse after experiencing so much sh*t, all within 3 chapters. It gets better. <<less

People calling her unlikable and how she deserves it are honestly ignoring the fact that he's a absolute s*umbag. And I love the FL because not only our her hurt feelings justified, but her anger is so refreshing compare to FL I read about. Everyone acting as if they wouldn't be fuming if their life time partner did that to them and so far

I like the change in the husband, he's not a ass and the fact that she doesn't give him a hard time or is angry at him because of his amnesia shows me she's a good person, she could've stayed bitter and say things to hurt him but she mostly left him alone and seemed to be coming around to this new change.

Personally I really like... more>> the FL because even though she knew he was known as a playboy she didn’t judge him until he started acting slimy towards her and made continuous cheap passes towards her. He acted like she was a conquest to be made so why should she show respect towards someone who doesn’t respect her and continuously cheats on her? She never broke her vows but he did so what argument would you make justifying that?

I think her personality is refreshing compared to the usual ditzy, quirky or way too easily forgiving FLs out there and she has a reason to be since she’s a noblewoman. Besides that I am enjoying the story. <<less

i really liked the story so far...

FL has pride and does not act as a punching bag...

she does not give a damn about her (EX) husband.... the ML sure is cunning... he was not a human being before... most probably some devil...i hope this one is not dropped any time soon

Wow 2 chapters and I'm already having mixed feelings about this, I hate both the FL and the ML, but love the story so far.

Marriage was not made out of love. When the former DERd*ck used to flatter her, flirt with her only due to her body. Of course she feels disgusted and becomes cold🙄.

But it doesn't mean you go and cheat on other women. I felt disgusted at other people's comments blaming her for being cold. Guys really?😒😑🤦‍♀️

BTW the cheating s*um is dead and not the ml. ML is the devil who is trapped in the scum's dead body🤘.

This is honestly like those stories where the villainness married ML for she love him so much only for the ML to stomp on her heart by showing how much he can replace her position. The only difference is that there's no love. FL knows her place and did not step beyond it expecting for more. ML is the same typical playboy husband.

I'm uncomfortable with the amount of times the FL will say something like 'stop' or 'please stop' or 'i don't like that' and the ML just...... wont? then he'll pull that super bs line of 'oh but your body is responding' like shut up dude, listen to her words! she's saying stop! I don't know if its supposed to be hot or something, but idk it makes me uncomfortable. everything else about the novel is fine, but I can't with that.

Hm, I can understand the perspective of those who dislike FL who didn't try to get along with the duke.

The thing here is, FL understands and accepts that her marriage with the duke is a business one. Not a love one.

Her first impression of him was, 'I don't think we'll fit, ' which well, she clearly didn't have a good impression and it's not like it can be helped, right? After all, he's famous for his 'debauchery' and he always smells like cigarettes which FL dislike.

But the thing is, after... more>> that, she NEVER tries to make it work. It's written that she always acts cold towards him since their first meeting. Even during their dates, she always acts cold towards him. Maybe she thinks that his 'making a pass at her' (it's written more from her pov) is cheap, but they're about to be married, if she didn't bother to act a bit nice to him, how could he stand her? Even with a business deal, you would try act nice towards each other, no?

It appears that she is very rigid, which I guess can be contributed towards her upbringing as an upper class noble. But it's understandable why the duke is pissed at her (and some readers who dislike FL), because he did try to get close to her, but she just acts 'cold' towards him.

Of course, the duke himself is not faultless. I get that he's pissed, but the way he vent it off was just plain disgusting.

And later on, he fell for this girl, and flaunt their relationship to the public which jeopardize their reputation, and of course, FL's as she's his wife.

After what he did during their wedding night, it's understandable why FL would act cold, but before that? Nah, FL just isn't trying at all. <<less

Like many here, I came for the smut, knowing the plot are always secondary for these types of novels. But I didn’t like FL and similarly I didn’t like ML either. So I couldn’t enjoy the smut. I’m not sure what it is but FL just puts me off. She’s stoic and has no personality whatsoever, her stiffness is her signature look. The lack of story is another aspect of lazy writing here. 18 chapters in and we still haven’t been introduced to other characters save for FL’s brother who... more>> only got 3 sentences before vanishing. Smut is nice but when the characters are lacking then we need some story to go back to. <<less

I have a general idea of what's wrong with the Novel.

First of all, if you think that the people Defending "douche Derrick" are misogynists' or whatever... you're sorely mistaken, you can empatice with a character without being that same character, or even agreeing with what he does... I love "The Godfather" but I'm not a crime syndicate mogul... and I would never mu*der anyone... being able to understand someone isn't bad, specially in a Novel... but this is part of the problem with this novel.

Secondly, if you're defending "douche Derrick"... more>> you missed the whole point of the novel.

The problem comes because all we see is the POV of our MC, with some characterizations to make the husband irredeemable, yes, HE IS IRREDEEMABLE, he wasn't completely at fault but in the end he also did things in the worst way possible.

But THAT WAS THE POINT, because he's supposed to DIE anyway.

Except, I think the author didn't push enough with his characterizations, since all we see is the POV of our MC, we lack his side of the story, just one scene of him thinking "I hate her because of reasons" or him disregarding her directly would have made a world of difference, in the end we only see her POV and people can dismiss it as "Unreliable Narrator" because we weren't witness to all this things, we were told third hand by her who hated him.

But the device was left in a flimsy "he wasn't right but he was also wronged by her" for the whole set up to work, because if he was made "completely" irredeemable, there would be no ground or basis for her to accept his resurrection.

Which, AGAIN, is the whole point of the novel.

Just ONE SCENE, just ONE CHARACTERIZATION from his side would make things less flimsy and give it a more stable foundation, but this is a single POV novel, so we're left with only what she thinks and does... which is also part of the mystery.

Because at the heart of all this, is a story about mysticism, the TONE is supposed to be dark and spooky, but the author didn't manage it at the start that way, we're presented with a straight up "marital drama of the noble society" which is shattered after chapter 5...

The TONE should have started as a horror movie, because that's what it's supposed to evoke on the reader... this is a lack of consistency on the author...

But this is just the set up for the whole rest of the novel, so it's the weakest of them all, because after that it shifts and becomes more competent.

IF the author hadn't rushed things, there wouldn't be this divide in the readers... but I understand the author because all those things were unimportant for the set up anyway.

So... I really REALLY recommend that you don't imbue your own feelings (love or hate) on a guy that was supposed to disappear at chapter 4 hahahaha. <<less

Just when the FL thinks that it was good riddance, the douche of an ML came back alive as a sexy devil. At least now, he was a better husband despite his real origin.

This is definitely the sexiest novel I've read for this month. Long smut scenes ahead. Very good translations. And the plot? It seems to be going nice tho it would be very early to say so.

I could agree with reviews. I dont know whom to side. Both has high pride, immature and dislikable.

Anyone who says that Judith is cold-hearted should go out and touch grass. And mind you, I'm not defending the plot, I'm merely stating what I've read about her as a character.

So. Imagine pointing a finger at a woman who is nothing but a tool or a prized beauty in this society, whose marriage will be nothing but an arranged marriage with a man who does not skip a single skirt, a man with mouth full of buckets of oil, because he's that greasy!! He tried to act with her... more>> like with any other lady he flirted with, but acted like a douch when she was not impressed and refused him. Imagine you should belong to that man. Because she IS the property. And she lives through constant humiliation during her married life.

Because her husband from the very first night of their marriage cheated on her, openly cheated on her for two years. And the entire society discussed their marriage and she had nothing better to do but to smile and play a role that she does not care. And it's a good thing that she never loved her husband and could care less, but it doesn't mean that her self or pride as a human being wasn't trampled on.

He gave the same energy as guys who slide into DMs, try to flirt with women, but when women refuse their advances they will call you a who*e unworthy of them who stepped down from their pedestal to give you attention.

Also anyone who says it's her own POV and it's not enough did not read further than few chapters. The girl is effing haunted by her late husband. While she developed with the Devil, you could sense how insecure she actually became. Because her husband made her feel like unworthy sh*t (she shares so many memories). Try to work through that.

The fact that her husband was seduced by Derrick's aide/traitor, who posessed the body of that Sylvia mistress doesn't excuse anything, simply because Judith was unaware and had all right to treat him badly. She wouldn't be able to "work through" simly because she is a mere human and won't be able to save her husband from devil's deceit.

And even without Sylvia he would likely cheat on her frequently, he slept with a woman on a wedding night (not Sylvia), in his office and she witnessed (heard) it.

But this is what concerns Judith.

As for the plot. I was informed that this is smut, but I had no idea how smutty it will be, there is a lot of it (you know when they tag smut, but it's not much, but I didn't expect the amount of sex). So don't expect much from the plot or anything else, especially plot development is put on pause so many times for them to have a fun time. Though premise sounded great, perfect for something dark and almost gothic. You wish. I wish. Sometimes I was almost skipping the smut because I wanted the plot, so much of corny stuff (so it's perfect for people who prefer a truckload of spice). Because of it I think the plot is a bit rigid.

Although this info appears soon, but still. ML is cursed and locked in this body. He was betrayed by his aide. Now they try to figure where his aide decided to take whose body this aide took and how to let ML gain his strength back. And author tries to throw shade on several main candidates, although it is a bit not as intriguing as it sounds. And the way he can recover is through s*x, so lots of that.

I really really enjoyed this novel and finished it using mtl. There is definitely some areas that could be improved for me personally, such as the motivations of the husband and the crown prince or king (been a while since I've read it), but it didn't deminish the overall story for me at all.

There is a happy ending though you'll have to go through some emotional pain alongside the FL towards the very end to get there. I hope this gets picked up and completed or an official translation because... more>> it's dark, gothic, spooky, sexy and fun. <<less

I just started reading this novel but I think I need to meet the translator. The translator comment is so funny. For the translation I would rate 5 out of 5, And as for the novel I would rate it later. But for now I think I truly love the FL. She knows her worth. She might not be a baddass b but she is what we called elegant woman.

OK, can I also get a demon like that? Screw the douchebag husband, give me a hot, cute demon any day because I'm reading this high-quality smut with totally my type of ML and I ain't hearing any complaints from anyone so far.

Hell, not even the FL was complaining after the first night - and before you start saying that I'm wrong, what she did wasn't complaining, as much as some pretty weak-sounding "imma-just-complain-cause-I-think-I-should-complain-but-in-fact-I-just-want-seconds-but-damn-if-I'll-be-honest-with-myself-and-admit-it."

I've seen quite a few reviews saying that the FL is unlikable. Personally, this is not the case with me. I can't say that I particularly like her, but I don't dislike her either.

Let's not forget that she was ignored, disliked, and humiliated by her very unlikeable husband for the entire duration of their marriage. True, she did not love him and it was strictly a marriage of convenience, but one can have a harem of mistresses, lovers, and flings while being discreet about it instead of purposely dragging ur wife's reputation through mud just because your poor manly pride was wounded when she didn't immediately worship the ground you walked on.

They could have easily had a cordial, albeit loveless marriage, but then we wouldn't have had all these hot s*x scenes, now would we?

On the other hand, the FL also didn't try too hard to make this entire marriage work. I'm just surprised she didn't have a party and get roaring drunk out of sheer happiness when her as*hole husband died.

Other excellent points include that the FL isn't s*upid or shallow or weak-willed (something which I personally abhor and makes me hit the 1-star rating faster than the speed of light) and the ML really knows what he wants, how to get it, and also accomplish it while

really good smut, scipy, & sexy. when I read it my heart flutter because they were so cute lolol (ofc in dif ways). the ML really gentleman to MC ((well even f*cked her almost everyday.

it's rare to find a story when the character like this & it's well written... I like the type of "you can't go anywhere dear" like possessive but still gentle to their girl🥲... I like that hoho

This story is quite different than the other "bad ML turns good story" because even though the ML is a "devil" he is actually good and the real husband who's the arsewhole is not the one romancing the Duchess. I hope this story get's completed and not dropped off.
