The male lead does in fact cry. Often. He's a pathetic crybaby who runs rather than face his decisions, ignorance, or feelings. He practices EXTREME avoidance (ie not answering his phone, literally running away, basically raping the MC to stop any chance of verbal communication) rather than have any sort of honesty or real communication at all in their relationship.

Now, I'm not saying the MC isn't faultless at all in this defunct relationship. He had many opportunities to share his grievances and open a discussion but he concludes "it's pointless"... more>> at baseline so he doesn't bother. The ML contributed to this through his continual neglect (which really qualifies as abuse tbh) but the mc's lack of backbone was irritating. However, I'm trying not to victim blame here because he was caught in a vicious cycle just like his sister. That's right, the MC is a VICTIM of the ML yet we're supposed to support this? LOL

Quite frankly, I kept thinking "why am I still reading this" while going through. I only stopped now because after ML runs away crying for the nth time it gets old. Yes, men are allowed to cry and show all the emotions available to any human but just crying all the time instead of being "cold" is not emotional development ok. He's more a leaky faucet than a reliable partner. Even babies may not cry as much but are more emotionally developed than this guy as they at least communicate their needs the best they know-how. They also don't knowingly violate your bodily autonomy to satisfy their ego or fantasies.

I just rambled a lot I supposed to say this isn't worth it. It's not cute, it's the opposite of fluffy, and 1/2 ish way in I'm more stressed than excited for them to develop. He's more of a stalker than a suitor k. Just because he's rich and 'helps' NOW doesn't make his past (or present) behavior any less abhorrent. His apologies don't mean sh*t to me, so I'm disappointed he gets 'forgiven' in the end. Quite frankly, this barely earns a 2 due to them actually divorcing at one point and then attempt to have some world-building via a conspiracy. Framing Lin as the villain though feels like a misprint, the true villain is the abuser who gets to fly under the radar using his tears and selfish apologies. <<less

The story is full of misunderstandings. It seriously stemmed from miscommunication. The MC thought that the ML didn't love him. The ML thought that the MC really loved him and seemed to see the MC under his very own "tinted glasses". The ML didn't really love his "white moonlight" and the ML admitted that he lacks emotions whenever loving or liking someone is involved.

After their divorce, the ML really regretted letting the MC go. He did question himself on why everyone thinks that he loves his "white moonlight" when he really doesn't. It's like "something" is pushing him to like the "white moonlight" and he didn't want that.

The ML wants the MC but as the story goes by, he realizes how much of a d*** he really was to the MC. He didn't really know the MC's preferences, his fears, his past...

In the next chapters, the ML got sick. To the point where he refuses to take his medicine so that he can still meet the MC in his dreams because that's the only way where he can have contact with the MC. He became depressed and he always scolds himself for his pasts actions and sees himself as unworthy of being with the MC but he still really wants the MC back.

Things did get resolved. The antagonists got what they deserved but the romance between the ML and MC wasn't really there. The MC was too broken - he didn't really want to believe in love anymore so no matter how the ML pursued him once again, he's just rejected. I am currently on Chapter 95 since I can't find the next chapters. (MTL'ed all the way)

The MC did agree on making the ML his boyfriend but that's it. No marriage. The MC is now busy on his career and I believe that 2 years have passed since their divorce (?)

The ML's emotion is still quite... fragile. After their divorce he became too emotional and is prone to crying.

And about the MC's transmigration..... it wasn't really explained well.

Sometimes I think that the MC is still the original MC since he's too absorbed in his own memories.

He is really Shen Mingbei now. It's just like: "One day I realized that I'm a cannon fodder and that my husband doesn't really love me."

Due to this fact, the MC attributed all of his sufferings to the ML's love for his "white moonlight." and the ML was too absorbed in his own concept of "happy marriage" with his "obidient wife" that he couldn't understand how harsh his words are to the MC.

It was quite stressful reading this novel. I felt sad for the both of them. <<less

"I wasted 2 days to read this", was my first thought after finishing this book.

This was a low carb vegan menu because there was no sugar or meat! Where was the joy?? If I wanted healthy reading, I would have picked up a Biology text book. Trigger warning: depression, domestic abuse, unsatisfactory ending (for me).

I suggest to read until 22ish to decide whether to continue or not.

At first, the writer tried to convey that ML is the typical overbearing rich cold ceo.

But, all I could think of ML is narcissistic s*upid forceful ceo : (When MC said no in bed, the ML only thought that MC play hard to get/ being a baby so I guess it meant r*pe/dubcon? 👿


ML also thought that whatever happen, MC will always be worn him and wait for him at home because as he is the favored side. He didn't like MC to work as artist reason being his family is rich (ML didn't even know that when they lived together for the past 5 years all living expenses (food, bill, pays for gardener & aunt) is paid by mc). He didn't like that MC tried to plant. At one point MC even cried bcs MC plant is moved from pot (he plan to take it away) to the garden.

After the white moonlight (wm) come back. He rob ALL of MC job opportunity, endors**ent, roles even a movie that MC has spent a good time to act : (Wm even had a few hot search with ML and ML allows that. What I don't understand is how come ML didn't know that wm could do all of those things is bcs of ml's vice pres???

MC had enough amd asked for a divorce. ML agree after MC said "dont make me hate you". After they got divorced ML suddenly realised that he loves MC, possibly from the first time that he saw MC.

From then on ML self destruct and became a crybaby ceo ☺

I dont like the ML at all.

From early chapter, if only they had a talk there wont be so many problems.

(white moonlight) org protagonist who thought he's smart thinking that he knew the 'truth' about his parent's death but in fact just a cheapskate who believe outsider instead of his benefiter (MC family), MC too tolerant toward the b*tch, ML who's too arrogant who want to redeemed himself, blame his own s*upidity but didn't help MC get revenge

ML he realized his fault but I just can't continue reading, it's too frustrating, he's always emotional every single time with MC, it's tear jerking, I even cried along. It's... more>> just that why couldn't he help MC get revenge, Isn't his ability so big? MC who kept feeling hurt, MC is too good for this world, he deserve better. He's too tolerant. the couples: they have many miscommunications. the white moonlight : he's intelligent, but I don't know how he become s*upid when dealing with his situation. Like he believed outsider instead of the ones who took him in? Even when years later, he grow up, he didn't realized what happened in the past? This novel, it's an emotional one for me.I don't want to torture myself. The one who love to read novels while crying, you get this. the r*pe part is when MC and ML were still husbands, when ML hasn't realized how tr*sh his behavior is, when he thought that MC was just acting spoiled. Also the ml, he's, I have no words to say. At one chapter in which MC drove into the sea because he's somewhat tired, ML thought he just wanted attention, yeah, like if it's too late, MC would be dead 😒. The other one was when ML drove really fast, MC was traumatized because his parents died like that in the past, he even trembled and try to stop ml, ML thought he was just freaking ACTING.

The ML realised he doesn't like his white moonlight but doesn't love the MC either. But he believes it when other said the MC loves him very much. He keeps sulking and demanding things fro the MC without actually looking in any of the problems they have.

The MC keeps thinking how the ML and his white moonlight belong to eachother and that the ML should divorce him soon. And keeps asking himself why the divorce hasn't come up yet, he keeps thinking about it without doing anything until later. It's like he won't fight for it but he's not letting go either.

the first part, the MC was abused. After around chapter 30, it is the ML that was abused.

I like the ending because it does not show happy ever after just because the ML changed. It took years before MC accepted him because he wants to be sure. However, acceptance does not mean marriage... and I'm fine with that because that's more realistic.

its well written angst and I would rate it higher but I don't like the main couple and am not to fond of angst. I don't like how the ML treats the MC and don't think they should get back together but I know they will.

Since there were so many bad reviews about the ML being a scum I had thought he was horrible but he's actually just a very, very ignorant person. I wouldn't call him a scum ML (not after reading those real scum ML novels).

On the ML: Like I said, he is a very ignorant person who lack communication skills despite being a CEO of a big corporation. Thus, he assumes that the MC's love for him never change as when they were first married. Even when the white moonlight Lin Xiang... more>> returned, he assumes MC is just jealous so he never communicates properly with MC and never ask if MC wants to sleep with him which lead to a lot of dubcon/r*pe. He later realizes his own shortcomings and confess/propose to MC to try and salvage their marriage but it was too late. I didn't think he was a scum ML because he never sided with Lu Chen nor Lin Xiang to hurt MC at all. He was just so ignorant that he found out too late what Lu Chen and Lin Xiang did to MC and those two even place the blames on ML so MC misunderstand him. ML did hurt MC on the car driving scene but that was because he was ignorant of MC past accident.

On the MC: Once he realizes he was just a canon fodder in a novel, he assumes ML will end up with Lin Xiang and that was ultimately the reason he insisted on the divorce even though ML was trying to salvage their marriage. He kept on believing that ML will definitely choose Lin Xiang as the story progress so he insisted to leave. I like that the author was using his Aunt Shen Xin's DV relationship to reflect MC relationship with ML. MC didn't want to be like his aunt so he left ML.

On the transmigration: I'm not sure if the author even need the transmigration because that part was not important at all, lol. Like one day the MC just realize he's a character in a novel and he was just a canon fodder in the novel. That's it. That's the only part about transmigration in the novel so far (I'm on ch42 so I don't know if there will be more on it in the later chapters). I am assuming that in the original novel the white moonlight Lin Xiang is the white lotus protagonist who came back to take revenge on people who destroyed his family and eventually he ends up with ML in the novel after ML divorce MC. I'm not sure if Lin Xiang even like ML because it seems he just want to take ML from MC since he wants revenge on MC.

Overall, not really a scum abuse story but definitely has enough dog-blood and drama to get you to read if you like drama. If you want a real scum abuse story, read "Stand-In Fool" (I mtl the novel on wattpad). That one is a bitter one that I cry almost every chapter for like 100 chapters (and there is almost zero redemption arc for scum ML in that story). <<less

I skipped for many chapters cause... MC is sober yet naive, ML is overbearingly s*upid, MC's family is too much and other characters are very hateful or irritating or cute BUT I am very satisfied of the ending.

the ending never said that MC loved the ML but, MC wont be in a new relationship with anyone anymore it is quite realistic on how you would just stick to what you had been used to than try new stuff even if there is no passion.

I am really excited about this, and so far so good! MC is level headed and practical, plot seems to start with a standard "white moonlight comes back and the substitute is about to be kicked to the curb but thanks to substitute actually having self-respect and not giving a f*ck about the ML, he perseveres and white moonlight fails" but 1) I actually love this trip and 2) who knows if there's going to be a twist!

Will review more as soon as there's more translation or mtl available.

Both MC and ML made a lot of crappy things, ML have depression - which the author treats as a joke! - MC has trust issues and their relationships are not in any way, shape or form healthy.

The best thing about this novel is the AU extra, but it does not help the overall bad novel. <<less
