Really underrated novel in my opinion. Sometimes the explanations for the plot twists get lengthy (the whole world is a part of a massive plot and the MC is merely a chess piece that gets the meaning of the world explained to over and over again), but that can be forgiven.

I think the best part of this novel is the great MC. He is OP from the start but as the world expands he realizes how weak he is and has to get stronger. Other novels with OP MCs usually... more>> throw strong enemy after strong enemy at MC to get stronger and it can get tedious and can take 1000s of chapters to go through a main arc. Luckily this author spares us the milking of power ups and skips straight to the main action and story by giving us very rare time skips and summaries of minor battles :) this is not a detractor as the story still flows smoothly and main battles still have action scenes.
Also the MC is probably one of the most reasonable MCs ive ever seen. Doesnt have f*cked up morals and doesnt kill everyone on sight. Is lazy most of the time because he has so much power and will apt to go a more peaceful route if ever possible. Now thats good parenting right there.
I highly recommend people to read this as its one of the better ones out there compared to the low comments. <<less

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It wasn't very different compared to some other novels, but it was fresh.

The plot was very enjoyable, It hooked me throughout the entire read. I binged the story completely in one sitting. The twist revealed near the end was intruiging, in fact, during the last quarter of the novel so many plot points came up and most, if not all, were resolved. Obviously, some of the plot twists were predictable but man, I just loved how the whole story tied together.

Many of the side characters... more>> were simple, but almost none of them played zero part in progressing the plot. The Love Interest and the love story of this novel in general was very sweet. It didn't feel forced, well it did in the beginning but it (she) quickly grew on me as well as the MC (<.<) it also didn't feel unnecessary and fit well with how the MC acted.

  1. I'd reccomend this story for people looking for a quick, easy read. It has adventurer, the risk is minimal but the rewards are high. The MC is OP, but still feels relateable. The action is intense, and the writing is easy to follow. I you're looking to spend a lazy afternoon reading and relaxing, read The Swordmeister of Rome.
  2. I was hesitant to read this story due to assuming the Rome in the title meant the Rome as in Italy, however, Its meaning comes from the MC's family name, Sian Von Roman. And the world this story takes place on has nothing to do with Earth.

Thought it started strong and ended weaker.

Felt like it could have a taken a more "slice-of-life" feel with the plot but instead the author tried to insert a plot-line unnecessarily. There were too many flashbacks and lengthy explanations as the story went on I thought.

Still, a good read and binge-able.

The MC is a 17-year-old son of certain noble family of a certain kingdom. He reached his limit, and he feels that the only way to get stronger is to have live or death situation. But why risk it when he’s the strongest (of course he’s not but don’t tell him :D). So, he is enjoying his live and just going with the flow.

This is the part of the story where he is “the strongest”, but he is traying to hide it and live his lazy life. Because of that... more>> people are traying to crosse his bottom line just to discover he is not some weakling. This part of the story was for (egoistic) me quite enjoyable. Around 60 chapters. Then starts the real adventure.

Now some points to the story to take note of:

1.) Fights aren’t long, so for those who (like me) don’t like 1-2 long fights then you are in luck.

2.) Whit romance is in stile that they know that they love each other but that’s all. (At least there are some side stories et the end)

3.) The MC is nice to others (sometimes too nice but that can by just me) but he has his dark moments (mainly at the start).

4.) The more the end is nearing, the more we see long chapters where they just revealing the history. At those moments I always thing to myself that the story is thot through, but for my it was lengthy explanations (like interesting but at the same time boring?) <<less

A wonderful novel to read with minimal inconsistencies. As a commenter mentioned, the overarching plot is massive and each arc is carefully written to bring the MC closer to the 'truth' of the world. The MC and side characters are lovable so that is another plus of the novel. The author also provided sufficient explanation to the bad luck/plot armor near the end of the novel. I enjoy the entire reading journey and would highly recommend this novel to those who are new to web novels. Solid 4.5/5 in my... more>> opinion. <<less

Translation was good but honestly the story was boring. I finished it for whatever that's worth, but I also didn't have anything else to read. Could have at least used all those gaps where basically nothing was happening to develop the romance more.

A very fun and interesting novel. I found this even more so as I had been tired of the recent mass-produced stories with the same copy-paste MC's.

The MC is lazy, pacific, OP (strong to stronger, so there's those above him), dumb/simple-minded, and as amazing that it seems to someone capable of erasing cities or mountains, very human.

The only Con was the fact that there are people abusing of his 'bad luck' and 'naiveness' to guide him to certain things, but even that is worked well by the author around the... more>> ending of the story.

I recommend this work for those that want to read a fun adventure with a healthy amount of "people that deserve a beating" and an MC that accepted that concluded that the best way to live in peace as he so much wanted is to just beat everyone. <<less

Not underrated, but definitely deserves more attention. Was a blast to read. Had some parody which made the adventure a delight to read.

It's a very fun novel, a hilarious and funny MC that is OP but too lazy to do things..

His title as Unexpected destructor is really fitting as he just casually strolling around but he got involved with something amazing..

The first 170 chapters are really funny and nice

The problem comes after this.

I really dont like how the MC gets played by some others characters and his Bad Luck, too much rinse and repeat, unfortunately

currently chapter 30

Finding it kind of funny as things are like clumsy reality (in a good way). Accidental battle, unreasonable reality, can be solved using methods other than violence and ignoring flags like not finding trouble yourself.

Still good rather than battling increasing power level enemies in a short time because of some arrogant prick or smth.

edit: finished it on the same day

not too much brain juice to write this, but never shabby either, a solid 3.8 - 4.3 rating in my opinions

good points, not so boring with an OP MC, the writer plans well, not much bullying cliche, no sudden dbz leveling

bad point, probably not so memorable imho <<less
