Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.Ma Xiaodong was a good-natured young man content with his lot in life. He had a job, a girlfriend, and a car. In this life, he had it made. One day he had a quarrel with his girlfriend who cursed his lack of ambition, saying that he should be struck by lightning from the heavens. As he drove through the pouring rain, a dazzling lightning bolt hit his car!
Unbelievable… the heavens must have gotten something wrong!! As compensation for the mistake, the underworld’s emissary let him transmigrate into a good body with great fortune.
Thus he was reborn as a first-class prince in Ancient times. But what’s this? Why is the person in his bed a man? This is not good!

Read this book. It is one of DFGG's earlier works, when she called herself a "novel newbie", but this is naturally just being humble on her part, because it's full of beautiful sentences and beautiful hidden sentiments and the mere mention of some of the lines bring me to tears. Again. I have the ximalaya audiobook saved on my phone and they open with some of those lines. Yup. Still works. Queue the waterworks. I've since read a lot more of her books and her short stories, and she has improved, but there is a rawness in Spring Once More, the brutality of her side-story plotting that I don't see in her later stuff. Thing is, it opens like a light-novel, it narrates like a light novel, but there's absolutely nothing light about it. The storylines of each of the characters are serious, and maybe DFGG takes some time to get there, and maybe you miss it --- it's in between the humour, in the cues Ma Xiaodong misses, in the things he doesn't do, that Chai'rong have done, in how Pei Qixuan is oddly attached to his other name, Ruoshui. I actually posted a review onto my tumblr which I've now lost, but I remember saying this clearly: it's definitely not a light novel, meant to be read in the moment, to entertain, and then forgotten. This one stays with you. (10/10 will let it do things to my heart over and over again.)
I was pleasantly surprised when he was discovered as someone else but it actually helped the story because without their support he wouldn't have been able to pass it off.
