The description is a bit lacking. The "front line" from which the MC came was basically a death zone where only the truly strong survived. The MC lived there for a number of years and made friends with people even more powerful than himself. He eventually achieved his goal and lost his motivation for living life on the edge, and "retired" to a place behind the lines, so to speak. There's still monsters to fight even where he retired, but he uses the opportunity to help a team of aspiring... more>> adventurers become better.

As the group he is training becomes better, their scope of activities expand. It's pretty standard Japanese style fantasy. I don't think there's anything that really stands out, but there's nothing bad either. <<less

Everything is good, everyone is likable but... Sorry to say, I'm a lil bit pissed on the girl name Cyril; She is, so far, the most irritating character here...

Don't let the bad review sway you away from reading this light novel.

This is a more of a slice of life type fantasy plus some action too, with bound to a fantasy-ish common sense (I am not talking about the usual fantasy troupe). In fairness, it is pretty modest.

MC is like a good veteran player that takes enjoyment from teaching (talented) chick players and staying away from stress high level plays.

An average novel with an average main character and an average setting. The story is okay-ish (?) but I ended up dropping it after a few dozen characters. Why?

Well, the story isn't that captivating and the only thing that you'd be looking forward to in such a slice of life is the romance or comedy. But there is little to no comedy and the romance is just... ugh... the one that looks like it's going to be the female lead is just annoying and s*upid so that kills any interest... more>> I might have had in the romantic aspect.

A nice, laid back story with a good plot. No harem or instant op heroism, but a calm protagonist who comes to recover himself after getting burned out from years of fighting in the death zone. The backstory is well developed and slowly revealed as is the relationships with his new companions.
