Murong Lingran, who was originally from ancient times, accidentally traveled to the 21st century and lived for twenty years. When she was hit and killed while trying to save a child while moving, she returned to ancient times and reunited with her original family. Before she could rejoice, she discovered that she was being kicked out, and their family was injured and scattered, and they didn’t even have a place to live.

She clenched her fists. It didn’t matter. She had space behind her and the help of the almighty gods and. . . beasts. No matter how big the difficulty was, it wouldn’t be a problem. There will be money, there will be houses, there will be land, there will be manors, there will be shops, and the family will be reunited.

But she didn’t expect that she would accidentally hug the thickest thigh, the kind that shouldn’t be hugged even if she wanted to.

The novel was fun to read, but it went on for too long and ended suddenly. I can't believe I read over 3000 chapters just for it to finish like that. It seems like the author rushed the ending. I was looking forward to when the MC and ML would finally get together, but the story just ended abruptly. It's disappointing, but I still enjoyed reading it as a way to pass the time.

MC's relatives are incredibly annoying, and that remains consistent throughout the story. Many characters are excessively... more>> pushy and shamelessly thick-skinned. The likable Emperor provides a refreshing offset to the insufferable relatives. He's playful, responsible, and upfront, ensuring there's no confusion about his intentions with MC and her family. <<less

This was a nice novel to read. Pretty standard from poor to rich novel with a lot of farming and a space with a well in which MC can also farm and later also grow fish (river fish and sea fish) and livestock (chickens, ducks, horses, cows, pigs, etc).

MC does a lot of cooking and of course like in a lot of similar novels her cooking tastes the best and even tastes better than what imperial cooks make.

I'm not sure I'd want to read it again. It was pretty standard... more>> with space, switched at birth part, amnesia, farming, etc. MC is quite sympathetic. She tries to help people in need when there are disasters in her country (like a large earthquake and drought). However she slaps back when people try to take advantage of her. The novel has a lot of people trying to get their hands on their money and take advantage of her and nobility / rich people looking down on MC and her family. However there are also a lot of people really grateful to her and people trying to help.

Murong Lingran (MC) is born in ancient times and reborn in modern times after she hits her head and ends up in a coma. She lives in modern times for 20 years. After her parents die, she finds a coin which integrates into her body and gives her a space. She buys seeds to plant in her space, but they don't grow up. She puts some things in her space, but before she has time to really explore it she dies and goes back into her original body in ancient times.

She wakes up again in ancient times when she has been in a coma for 20 days.

Her family consists of her father, mother and 6 brothers. They are a loving family who support each other. Her father was an imperial physician who was accused of stealing a valuable medicine and her family was sentenced to exile and hard labour 3 years ago. After 3 years the emperor pardoned their family to celebrate his mother's birthday and they returned to the capital. In the capital there was a riot (or something like that) and their family split up in the consternation. MC hit her head and ended up in a coma. Her 3 younger brothers went missing. Her parents and 3 elder brothers did their best to get money for medicine for her and begged everyone they knew for money. Her father's former friends and his family refused to help.

Her father's hands were hurt by a robber and he can't use his hands anymore. So he can't really work as a doctor or work on the land. Her mother decided to sell herself for 3 years to a embroidery home and her 2 eldest brothers who know martial arts took a dangerous job to guard a transport to get the money for MC's medicine.

Her father finally managed to get medicine for her but she didn't wake up. When he is out to find more medicine, their 'landlord' wants to throw her out of her house even though they have already paid rent. MC wakes up when she is about to be thrown out and her father returns.

MC's paternal grandparents have also refused to help even though her father has always helped them and they (including his brother and his family) have always lived of his money. Her grandmother has always liked her eldest son and favoured her second son in everything. Her grandmother never really did anything to stop his wife.

This is all explained at the start of the novel so it's not a spoiler.

MC's father decides to split up from his family.

MC has a goldbar in her space, so the family decides to sell the gold and first buy some land and build a bamboo house to live in. With the seeds in her space MC decides to grow vegetables on their land. They hire some people from the village they live in to work the land.

MC's seeds from modern times are better than the seeds from ancient times and the water from her space can improve them even more. When they start selling their crops they quickly get a few rich customers eager to buy her vegetables who taste superior and they start to earn money.

Her first customers consist of ML and his friends.

MC and her father meet ML pretty much at the start of the novel. He is wounded and her father gives him medicine to stop the bleeding.

The rest of the novel is mostly MC buying more land, growing more and more on her land, including high yielding rice and grains that will later be sold in the entire country. Her rice and grains yield 7 to 10 times more than what the farmers are growing. She buys a mountain on which she plants all kinds of fruit trees, several trees grow fruits that didn't exist in this form or were a tribute fruit to the emperor before that. She starts opening several shops to sell her products and her shops become very succesful.

When MC travels back she can also grow plants in her space. First she can only grow a very small part. Her space has a god inside who has been wounded. He needs a lot of medicinal plants to recover. These are mostly medicinal plants MC can find in the forest near the village she lives in. The more he recovers, the more land in her space can be cultivated and the more abilities her space gets.
Spoiler

She can later grow fish (sea and river fish) and also raise animals (chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, horses, etc.) in her space. The plants in her space can later grow up instantly.

MC gets several pets. First she gets a huge 'dog'. The novel constantly shows it thinking it's not a dog when people call him a dog, but we never find out what it really is. Until the end of the novel it's called a dog. This dog is mentioned and used the most in the novel. It is very strong, all animals including tigers are afraid of it. It can guard their home and MC rides it when she goes looking for herbs in the forest. She also gets a white fox, which mostly seems cute, and much later a huge bird which can even take people into the sky and towards the end she also gets a gold monkey.

When their family gets enough money they hire people to find her 3 missing brothers.
Spoiler

The first brother is found to have been taken out of the capital by a family who does not have a son. The mother has been told she can't have more children, so they took MC's brother and decided to raise him to take care of them when they get old. However soon after the woman gets pregnant and she starts treating the boy very badly, abusing him and even tries to get rid of him. However a taoist tells her that she will lose her baby if she gets rid of him. She tries to lose him, but starts bleeding immediately after and then takes him back. When he is found by the people MC's family hired he is full of scars and very skinny. MC and her eldest brother go to their village to pick him up and accuse his adoptive family of kidnapping and abusing him and bring him back.

The second brother is taken in by robbers. When he hears them talking about killing their eldest adopted son because he can't give their daughter children and replacing him with the second brother, he runs away. He is then found by a nice family. One of their sons has died not long before and they take him in as one of their own. The father of this family has an elder brother who took most of the inheritance of their parents and is responsible for the death of their son. He also abuses MC's brother and tries to make him work for him for free. The brother usually runs into the forest to escape the uncle. When MC meets his family her brother has been chased into the forest and fell down a cliff with his adoptive brother. With the help of her 'dog' MC finds her brother. When MC has the uncle beaten up for what he did, the uncle sets fire to the adoptive parents' place during the night in revenge. MC has him convicted. She brings the adoptive parents back to her village to work for her so they can earn enough money to build a new home. They later decide to sell their land in their original village and move to the village MC lives in because of all the troubles caused by the uncle's family. The father is rather weak willed and keeps believing in his brother for a long time and never acted against him. The mother is very strong willed and curses a lot at the the uncle and his family.

The last brother is found pretty much at the end of the novel. It takes the family almost 5 years to find him. This brother lost his memories of his family. He was kidnapped by child abducters to be sold. When he got sick they left him on the road. He was then found and adopted by a loving and wealthy family who took good care of him. A month before MC finds him, this family lost everything because of jealous merchants destroying his business. MC helps them get revenge and brings them back to the capital to start their business again there.

Pretty much from the start it is clear that ML comes from a pretty powerful family. MC's father recognizes him right away, but doesn't tell her about his identity. ML has very strong martial arts. He likes to visit MC's family and loves her food. He is not the usual cold indifferent type who only acts nice with MC. He tells MC that his family has a rule that the man is not allowed to marry before he is 18. MC thinks this is because the body has to be matured and his family might have had a time traveller in their past. It never comes clear if this is true.

I find it weird that he wants to marry MC pretty soon after he turns 18. I'm not a doctor, but it seems to me that it would be much more important for the woman's body to be matured and 18 before she gets married. I think it is much more important for a woman's body to be grown up since she has to give birth.

Spoiler

ML is the emperor. He is the one who convicted their family to be exiled 3 years before. ML tells MC he is 15 when she has been back in ancient times for a year. So he should have already been emperor at 11 years old. He is about 4 years older than MC. This is the first emperor I see constantly running around outside the palace.
When he knows their family for a longer period of time he decides to reinvestigate the case of the conviction of MC's father but it takes 4 to 5 years to find the culprit. It takes MC a long time to find out he is the emperor.
ML is an emperor who tries to do his best to improve the living conditions of his people. He buys the improved seeds from MC to introduce and distribute them in his entire country.

MC's father has a mysterious background. His mother has always treated him poorly and never cared about him. Pretty much from the start MC and her father ask his mother if he is really her child. His father does his best to improve the relationship with MC's family, but this happens after their life improves. From the moment he does his best to improve the relationship he does stop his wife and son from trying to take advantage of MC's family.

Spoiler

Quite late into the novel MC's paternal grandmother reveals that MC's father is not her child. Her son was stillborn because she decided to travel while pregnant. She was given the child by another woman a didn't dare to tell her husband their child died because she decided to travel and gave birth early. So she decided to raise the child someone handed to her but always abused him and never cared for him. MC's father had to do his best to learn reading by himself and learned to become a doctor with his own strength. His mother always took advantage of him and tried to get all his money to keep for herself and her own child.

His real parents are a well-known general and a princess. Their child was switched shortly after birth and they never knew about this. When the grandmother meets MC and her family she starts suspecting the father might be her child, because the family resembles her and her husband. They had assassins in their home right after their son was born and the nanny hid their son during the attack. This nanny later committed su*cide. Their son died soin after that, so they don't have sons. They only have daughters.

They start to investigate what happened 30 years ago and pretty soon decide MC's father is their son, but it takes them a few years to find proof of that and tell MC's family about this.

MC's paternal grandmother and her uncle and cousin decide to kill MC's family to get their hands on their money and properties. They have family members temporarily living in their home who hear them talking about this and tell MC about their plans, so MC's family is prepared. They then find out that he is not really their son. The grandmother, her son and granddaughter are put in prison. While they are in the same cell, the cousin who has always been selfish decides to kill her grandmother and father when she sees they don't care about her and still want to harm her younger sister and bring the sister along in exile. The cousin then commits su*cide.

The 2 remaing children of the uncle never try to take advantage of MC and her family. He girl regularly warns MC about her grandmother's plans and also works for MC.

After a few years MC's real paternal grandparents find proof that their son has been switched and they tell MC's family about this at a large party in the imperial palace. Their family has been eying the title and MC's grandfather has and he wants them to give up on that and let everyone know about their real son. They suspect that the person who set MC's father up to get him exiled was the person who switched their son, but they still don't know who it is.

A few years later they finally find out the person behind all this. It is a family member who wants the title.

[collapse]

The end feels rather rushed. I feel that several things are not explained well.

Spoiler

MC finds her 3rd missing brother and brings him back.

ML decides to get married when he is 18. His officials push him to get married when he is 18, so he asks them to give him candidates. Suddenly a county master like MC turns up who also wants to marry him and tries to harm MC because she is a competitor. She has never been mentioned before. With how much ML has been visiting MC and how often he has awarded her (with titles, money, gold medal etc) I would think her family should have known about MC and his interest in her for a long time.

Since MC is about 4 years younger than ML she should have been 14 or 15 at the time of her marriage. I find that very young. Especially because MC thinks that ML's family only allows their men to get married at 18 because their body should be grown up.

Shortly before their marriage the god in MC's space recovers. He looks a lot like ML.

We then get a short preview of them having been married for 4 years and MC having given birth to 2 twins and becoming pregnant for the 3rd time.

The god is then seen thinking that ML is apart of his soul and he will tell them about this a 100 years later. We never find out what happened to them. How his space ended up with MC and if they perhaps have a history together. We do know that MC's pets belonged to him, but all should have a different appearance originally. We don't find out what this original aplearance should be.

We never really find out about their lives together. We know they should be happy, but that's it. MC has always been running in the woods to find medicine and running around building up the business and finding her brothers etc. We don't know if she is still running outside. It has been mentioned before that the empress should be living in the harem, but that doesn't seem like the life that MC would like to me.

[collapse]

I like it that the MC never becomes so OP that she can do everything. She only farms and does business. She is not strong and she does not introduce all kinds of modern technologies in ancient times. She can throw knives to defend herself. She hides inside her space when there is danger. Her father gives her poisons and knock out drugs he makes himself to defend herself. And the god inside her space also often warns her about dangers ahead of time.

Like in many of these types of novels I wonder why MC never tells her family (or perhaps just her parents) about her space. She keeps it a secret for everyone. Because of that she often has to find excuses for why she gets all kinds of things. For example she tells everyone she gets her seeds from a mysterious merchant. She tells her father (and later her family knows about this as well) a god has appeared in her dreams and is helping her. MC has a very loving and supportice family. I don't really understand why she wouldn't tell them about her space. <<less
