Compelling at first in the first arc, but the author seems to be having trouble deciding who our MC is going to be. On one hand, he’s a sensible doctor who talks and acts like a completely normal person. Then he acts ‘cute’ and hides behind whom I assume is the ML. Because MC acts so much like a normal person, these ‘cute’ moments come off kind of off-putting and creepy, rather than entertaining. If he were more scheming, or mischievous, or fierce, the contrast would be fun. But instead... more>> he’s just. Boring. He’s a boring MC, as are the side characters. EXCLUDING OF COURSE

The novel could get better in latter chapters as the author picks up the pace (there are 91 chapters released at the time of this review, don’t be fooled) but the second arc is already dragging and the sense of tension is nonexistent. Everyone exclaiming how handsome the MC is all the time is the icing on the cake.

The translation is good, it looks to have a decent overarching narrative in the works, as well as some changes to the worldbuilding outside the usual unlimited flow narrative, so it’s not a terrible read. Just not my personal taste. 3/5 <<less
