Teo Korpi, a young man dreaming of becoming a cortege blacksmith, was on his way to the borderlands, just to have his coach attacked by a horde of orcs.

On the brink of death, help arrived…but, something wasn’t quite right with the swordswoman who was supposedly his savior.

Far from just killing the orcs, she slaughtered, slaughtered, and slaughtered them in the most gruesome ways…as if finding pure joy in a gory massacre.

Then she turned around towards Teo…

I really like it. So far it has more of a mature slice-of-lifeish vibe. The parts about smithing/enchanting weapons are pretty interesting and the author has put thought into how the MC plies his trade.

The characters are pretty fun, and the story is pretty comedic despite not having the tag.

So far, as to what's translated, the series is sort of whatever. It's basically an episodic series of our MC blacksmith and resident swordsman, Shea, going around killing various monsters. There's no real plot to speak of so far, and it doesn't hold my interest enough to follow it on a chapter-by-chapter basis. It looks like the plot finally picks up in volume 2, which is good because otherwise this would be a really forgettable series about killing monsters, of which are a dime a dozen. I recommend waiting until... more>> at least 2 volumes are translated before reading, because volume 1 just seems to be the setup. Just like how Dungeon Meshi eventually had to move beyond "the gang meets a new monster and eats it, " this series has to move beyond "the gang fights a new monster, MC makes a new weapon, they kill it, repeat."

The art is really nice, at least.

TL: The TL seems fine and it reads nice, for the most part. Every now and then, there are some wonky sentences and grammar, so it could use an extra proofreader to go over it beforehand. Some of the name choices are also weird, but you get used to it. <<less
